The service is impeccable and wonderful. The decor is a bit old, however, well-kept. Just very 80's luxury. Then again, it's Phoenix.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"A friendly hotel and close to the airport"
My family enjoyed our stay for one night prior to our departure to the airport back home the next day. The rooms were very clean and staff very helpful, attentive and friendly. The downside is that you have to pay for everything else a la carte. Be ready for a parking daily fee of 39.00 which is what I paid in NY city for hotel parking and Phoenix HS […] more space for parking so I found that a rip off. There is complimentary coffee int he lobby till 8 am which is ice but I got there at 8:30 not knowing and it was gone. However the nice people in the restaurant took care of me. Pool was very nice and a fire pit was going at night which was pretty. Room service was nice and a little pricey but we were at the Ritz so I expected that. Plenty of shopping around and a great deli across the street with breakfast burritos if you need to get up and go. All in all a nice stay and a beautiful hotel! "Wasn't very Ritz"
We stayed here because all of the hotels provided by the airline were booked. We missed our connecting flight and had to stay in Phoenix. It was OK, the staff was very friendly and professional. The lobby and grounds were clean and presentable. Our room was less to be desired, the lavatory sink was cracked all the way down the middle, the bathtub was […] outdated and the porcelain was chipping. The lampshades had water stains on them. The heated salt water pool was relaxing and great for the kids. All in all, I wouldn't have paid the price I paid for a one night stay if the 1 and 2 star hotels in Phoenix were not going for almost 200 bucks a night. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good Business-Class Hotel"
Very nice, clean, comfortable business-class hotel, on a busy street across from a shopping mall. Very friendly service. Not a walking neighborhood; you need to drive pretty much everywhere.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Ritz means a higher level of customer service and comfort. The staff treats everyone like a VIP. Our hotel reservation on Expedia was accidentally input for five days earlier (not prepaid). When we showed up the computer said there was no reservation. We had been in the car for four hours and with a delayed fight add five more hours plus no dinner. […] Needless to say we were a bit stressed. The hotel honored our reservation and discounted it by 65 dollars a day. We were treated like special guests by everyone e.g. it took awhile for the coffee and pastries in the morning so the hotel did not charge us. You get what you pay for with excellent customer service. The computers were very slow with bad connections but the people were unmatched. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Fun trip to the Fiesta Bowl. We were only there for one night, but had a great lunch at Del Frisco's near the Ritz before driving to Glendale for the game. "Best 5th Anniversary Memory Ever"
We gave this night to my son and his wife for their fifth anniversary. I have never heard both of them rave more about a gift. They had such a spectacular time, and could not say enough wonderful things about The Ritz Carlton and her staff! From Jeffries High Tea, Exquisitely appointed rooms, a fully equipped exercise room with personal towels and bottles […] of water at each piece of equipment, to walking under the tunnel (and making an acapella video using the great natural acoustics) to the shops at the Biltmore, everything was SUPERB! Although we only stayed one night - it was wonderful! The service was exceptional and the staff was so very kind and helpful! We were running late to a booksigning and the staff couldn't have been more supportive getting us to our room, helping us locate the bookstore and just being lovely. When we returned we were exhausted (we had driven in that day […] from Las Vegas) and had room service (that is 24 hrs - thank you!) It was well priced, came quickly and was exceptional. We had the steak and chicken fettucine and it's the best we ever had and this was at 10:00pm! Now one warning: the hotel is difficult to find, especially at night. It is directly on the corner of 24th and Camelback. The hotel's name is obscured by trees and there is a bistro on the corner further obscuring the hotel. We went past it several times and had to finally call. So, just keep your eyes open and pull in to the first entrance on Camelback immediately past 24th and you'll be fine. We found the hotel, especially the club level concierges, to be extremely helpful given that we were traveling with our one year old daughter. "Ritz needs upgrade"
The finish on our headboard was coming off and the faucet stuck, and i called and no one fixed it--totally wierd for a Ritz. We had a bartendar that was over the top rude. The pool bar was closed so you had to wait for room service. Not your typically Ritz stay...Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Perfect for business trip"
Arrived Thursday evening for a one-day meeting at the hotel on Friday, and left Saturday morning. Less than a 20 minute drive from the airport. Had time to enjoy the pool, staff was courteous and helpful, food at Bistro 24 was great though not many other people dining or at the bar. A hotel of the caliber of the Ritz-Carlton should have a full restaurant open all seven days of the week, including for dinner. A bar menu on Sunday and Monday nights is not in keeping with the hotel's reputation nor the expectations of the R-C. Although the wait staff on Monday was able to get a full dinner out of the kitchen, it shouldn't have to […] be such a special effort. Most people will decline to put the staff to extraordinary measures, and will simply decline eating dinner on Sunday and Monday nights at the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst Ritz Carlton Ever"
What happened to the Ritz Carlton? These rooms should be sold to the Super 8 chain. The carpet is gross, the furnishings are old and the bed was at least 10 years old. Would not stay here again if the nights were free.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ordinary for a Ritz Carlton"
This is a very nice hotel and the service is amazing, consistent with other Ritz Carltons. However if you were in the room and hadn't been told it was a Ritz Carlton, nothing would indicate it. Bathroom is old but pretty marble, nothing fancy. Food in bar was really ordinary. There was a piano musician Sat night who was amazing, one of our favorite […] features of RC's is the love music and this one delivered. music was from 5:00-8:00. "Ritz Carlton Phoenix - Delivers on all accounts"
I was looking for a top hotel in the Phoneix/Scottsdale area that was free from the spa/resort atmosphere and the languid service mindset that often accompanies such places. The Ritz Carlton fitted the bill with the usual quality service and accommodations. The restaurant closed early for my liking but I understand that is the norm in Phoenix, and the […] breakfast offerings made up for it. Genuine Expedia guest review

"Dated but delightful customer service"
08/14/14 mercurysqueen Dallas, Texas
I had occasion to stay at this property for one night during a business trip. I must say that the customer services was some of the best I've experienced in some time. From the valet who parked the car to the front desk representative to the hotel operator and even the wait staff in the restaurant, i couldn't have asked for a better experience. The room was typical Ritz, a bit old school, but very clean. The bed linens were superb. Room A/C was quiet and effective. The area around the hotel was safe. Breakfast food service, while pricey, was excellent. The food was very hot - I was surprised how fresh and hot it was! All in all, a great experience. I'd stay again.
"Entire Staff Impeccable!"
08/04/14 lsscancun Pittsburgh, PA
From the time we arrived from the airport, until the time we left to come back home, the staff was the best I have ever encountered! Everyone had huge smiles and such cordial greetings. They remembered your name, why you were in Phoenix, and constantly asked how our trip was going and if there was anything else they could help us with. In the Bistro 24, our waitress gave us a complimentary plate of fresh oatmeal cookies after our lunch, because she said everyone needs to have sweets after their meal. They were delicious! On the morning of our flight home, another waitress knew that I loved the herbal tea that they served, so she gave me a few bags to take on my flight. The Concierge stopped me in the hall to see if she could offer any additional service. The valet people got us an ExecuCar immediately each time we left the hotel. When we returned, they always asked how our day or evening was. I would definitely stay here again!!
"Excellent Service, Great Location"
07/30/14 dsethiaz Tucson, AZ
In a city full of 5star resorts, the Ritz is a more typical urban, business hotel. But that is one of it's greatest assets. It is convenient to get to, centrally located and easy to get in and out. There are no gorgeous grounds or multiple pools and no golf course, but if you are looking for a nice place to stay that is close to great food/drink, shopping and much of where Phoenix works, the Ritz fits the bill. The hotel is old school stylish. Luxurious furniture, upholstered walls and marble accents are at every turn. It's very comfortable and a reminds me a bit of an English manor -- in the desert. There is no turquoise or kokopelli, though... The staff is really what sets this place apart -- from the valet to the front desk, where they remember your name and cheerfully welcome you back, to Christopher who celebrates 14 years masterfully tending bar, this is a place that is comfortable and easy. It's a great place to stay in Phoenix.
"Great Hotel & Experience"
07/17/14 DiamondTrimOC Orange County, CA
This is a great hotel in a great location. The hotel has been there for awhile, but in typical Ritz Carlton fashion it is perfectly kept, and the rooms are what you would expect. It's clean, comfy, and the staff are always attentive and accommodating. A number of great restaurants are directly across Camelback at the Biltmore mall. You don't have to go too far for a great dinner or cocktail. The fitness room is well appointed with new equipment, water, towels and everything you need. The pool is clean, however, the pool is shallow and somewhat small, so don't expect to do laps for exercise.

Very friendly staff, classy rooms, good location, within walking distance, very close, to a nice mall with fancy stores, also within walking distance to many restaurants, both fast food and fancy, can also walk to a grocery store... On my travels found a Nordstroms the Rack about a half mile down the road... I'm with my boyfriend here for a conference but the location is keeping me pretty entertained during the day while he is gone.

This Ritz is wonderful, clean, and has exceptional service. It isn't as glamorous as other Ritzs but it still lives up to expectations. I would recommend this hotel for business trips more than anything. It has an outdoor plaza/mall with great places to eat at.
"An Interesting Ritz"
07/07/14 ittessot Dallas, Texas
I'm staying at this lovely hotel right now and I must say that overall, this is an impressive property and it deserves to be with the Ritz family. However, there are some interesting quirks here. The service here is exceptional, as per Ritz norm. The valet was so kind, front desk greeted me by name without having met me previously, and Chris in the bar went above and beyond tonight to take care of me and use my name throughout each conversation. The public spaces here are very opulent. The building from the street isn't honestly anything special, but the second you walk into the lobby, the place is immaculate, just dripping in large slab marble and crystal chandeliers. Everything , from the flowers to the tables to the lighting looked like someone dusted it this afternoon. I think I counted twelve massive, sparkling chandeliers just walking to the elevator. Upstairs the hallways hold true as well, very ornate, dimly lit and fresh smelling. Upon walking into my room, I was a bit taken back by the age of the decor. The furnishings here feel very out dated and perhaps original to the building. However, not a single piece was scratched or in disrepair. The marble bathroom was again a little aged, but extremely well kept with fresh caulking and paint, as well as the lovely Asprey amenities. Aside from the aged rooms, a couple other places at this hotel lack a bit. The men's locker room was nice, but just ok. I've been to some Ritz locker rooms with full service and at least functioning lockers and staff. Also, the pool was totally dead, not a soul in sight and no wait service. The pool deck felt a little neglected and could use a facelift. Overall, a Ritz with amazing service, stunning first floor public spaces, but in need of some TLC. I will say however, my corporate rate here is much lower than usual, so this property may not charge tons because they know a few things need work. I would stay here again just for the service and the views out the windows.
"First time at the Ritz"
06/30/14 twinmom8 Torrance, California
We stayed at this hotel because my daughter's club volleyball team blocked rooms at this hotel for a tournament. First time staying at a Ritz Carlton and I have to say the service was excellent. They greet you at the door by name & there is always someone available to help you out with directions, restaurant recommendations, etc. The rooms were clean, very comfortable & quiet. I was very surprised how small the pool area was considering how many rooms they have. I do have to say the elevators were really dark inside with dark wood paneling & dim overhead lighting. Thank God the buttons lit up so you could push your floor button. As this was my first time at a Ritz, I'm not sure how other hotels look like but this one could use a little update or freshening up. Some things in the room look worn like the desk & cabinets and the wallpaper in the bathroom. The location is good with plenty of food choices within walking distance. Like that they have a tunnel that connects to the mall/food area just north of hotel. Only downside for me was that they only offer valet parking. You can't just get in your car when you need to run down the street to grab something. You have to call to get your car. Overall a nice place to stay.
"Very nice hotel"
06/08/14 Stephanie8228 Levittown, Pennsylvania
I stayed at this hotel for business and was very happy. The room was luxurious, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located near a mall so there are lots of restaurant/shopping options which is a plus. The only down side was that the pool was small and near buildings so it was not very good for sunbathing.
"Not up to "Ritz" standards"
05/31/14 ejh1967 Auburn, California
I have stayed at a fair number of Ritz-Carlton properties, and this particular property was a disappointment. Let me first say that there is nothing wrong with the staff; they are professional, courteous, helpful, etc. They are what I would expect of a Ritz-Carlton staff. The problem is the property itself, the room conditions in particular. This Ritz is in serious need of some "refreshing." The upholstery on the all of the chairs in my room was worn and faded. The carpet had stains, and the room just overall looked "tired." The location is fine; it's across from the Biltmore mall which has some good restaurants, and it is close the 51 which goes North-South between the airport and North Scottsdale/Paradise Valley. As a Ritz-Carlton goes, however, this property would be a backup plan if I were unable to get another hotel in area. At least until they update the furnishings and carpet...
