Staff was very friendly, it was a quite nights stayGenuine Expedia guest review
We picked Hotel Indigo because we had stayed in this chain near Boston MA. We were visiting family in Ottawa and wanted to be downtown. We enjoyed our stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"The reviews we read on line are wrong."
The hotel is great. The rooms are large enough for two adults and 2 teens. The setup is better than the sheriton in Montreal where we stayed for a full week prior. And it is close to the cityGenuine Expedia guest review
"Long Weekend in Ottawa"
Hotel Indigo was a great choice - its convenient location near Parliament Hill, the National Gallery, the Rideau Shopping Centre and Byward Market make it a very convenient place to stay. The overall hotel quality was very good - rooms were very clean and well appointed - good value for the price; although we had second floor rooms we didn't experience […] a lot of street noise or disturbances. The hotel restaurant does a very nice breakfast which was the only meal we ate in-house as there's just so many other choices nearby. As many of the other reviews indicate, the only hassle is the parkade which is shared with the Marriott Hotel next door....it's awkward to get to with the one way streets and very narrow inside with opposing lane traffic trying to share what is only a single-wide lane. Indigo parkers are relegated to the third level....Make sure to park right outside the hotel entrance until you've checked in and dropped off your luggage; they'll let you occupy that spot for 20-mins. Don't take your luggage into the parkade as you'll have to wrestle it around to get to the hotel - the same holds true for check-out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretend Boutique Hotel"
The images on the website make it out to look like a swanky boutique hotel. It simply looks like they tried to put some work into renovating an older run down hotel, but without much success as they cut corners. Rooms are small, but tidy and clean. Staff were fine. Parking was expensive and in a sketchy and very tight underground parking lot that it […] shares with the neighboring hotel...you need to walk through the other hotel to get to the parking and carry your luggage. We would not stay here again...there are better hotels for the same price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice/modern hotel downtown Ottawa"
Nice hotel, no major complaints. Under ground parking is a bit annoying/confusing to get back to the Indigo, but staff give you pretty good instructions. Price of parking really adds to the cost of the hotel. We hadn't thought of that when we booked it. The main lobby constantly smelled like caramel or something, which was gross after a while.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location - Great!"
The comfort of the room was rated 3 because it felt obstructed and for such a small room I had to walk 'far' just to sit on the couch which was not comfortable to sit on; although it was comfortable to sleep on (it was a pull out bed/couch).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"2 nights .."
Hotel staff were nosey ... Nickled and dimed a bit ...Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good central location for sight seeing trip"
With only 36 hours for sight seeing trip this was a very central location with good facilitiesGenuine Expedia guest review
Our room was cramped, the bed (a Queen instead of the King we booked) was hard and the bedspread so heavy - we felt like panninis? The bathroom was miniscule and dingy (peeling wallpaper). The laminate floors felt cheap and the ugly mural behind the bed made me feel like I was camped out in a 13 year-olds bedroom. The window overlooked a ventilation […] shaft. The parking garage was frightening - two way traffic in a space designed for one way. Sorry, nothing positive to say about this place that positions itself as a boutique hotel. Try the ARC for an authentic boutique hotel experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good choice for downtown Ottawa"
Very friendly and helpful staff. Close to uOttawa, Parliament Hill, etc. It's worse to use valet service as it is only $4 more than self-parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nicely situated downtown, close to restaurants"
Only used hotel to sleep, so I did not spend much time in the room. Beds were crammed in with the chest of drawers on which the TV sat. The desk next to the chest was crammed into the corner. I could barely turn around. I would not recommend this room for large people - it would be quite tight. The bathrooms are nice. However, they could be a cleaner. […] White tiles with dirty grout is something that I don't like. The only window was filthy, like it hadn't been washed in years. Waking up and opening the curtains to dirty window is off-putting no matter how sunny it is. Elgin Street has a number of good and great restaurants. Elgin Street Diner is a must. 24 hours. Ron & Kate are there most mornings. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good location but not great front desk info"
It was good, however the parking lot is inconvenient and the front desk staff was not very helpful as they gave us wrong information on a few things .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice get away"
The staff and room exceeded expectations, however the hot tub was closed and the pool was cold and dirty. Very disappointedGenuine Expedia guest review
"a few blocks to almost everything"
Excellent location, a few blocks to Parliament Hill and to the Byward Market. Park at the library across the street to save a few $$ ($15 per day vs. $22 at the hotel).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Everything"
Right downtown, close to Parliament, the market, easy to get to, just what we needed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We stayed one night at Indigo and the indoor pool required some maintenance so it was closed. The main reason for us booking at this hotel was for the pool and the location. The staff was great. Room was very nice and clean. The parking is a surcharge... It is not well written on the hotel description... First come first served but what they mean about […] that is that you park at the Marriott and if there is no more parking, they will credit your parking from another hotel parking... "A Great Stay"
Hotel Indigo was recommended to us by friends & now we will certainly be recommending it to others. The staff was great and our room was perfect - clean & modern, complete with aveda products :) The restaurant was quite pricey for pretty average meals, but the location is central - just down from the parliment buildings and a 5min walk from the market […] - so many options for food & entertainment. "Great downtown location"
Underground parking shared with another hotel, third level down, very tight and awkward. Bathroom sink overhead lighting inadequate. Staff excellent.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Stay at Marriott next door"
Parking the hard part of staying there a much better choice would be the Marriott connected to it you can still check in without going around the block 10 times .Check in area is full with 2 cars.Genuine Expedia guest review
I was there a number of times for short stays - nice modern interior, clean, good service, convenient location, good valueGenuine Expedia guest review
"Clean Style and Fresh Decor"
The stand-up shower is spectacular. Overall, the rooms are tight but well set up and provide all the amenities you would need. I would suggest shower gel over soap bars, but that is a minor issue. The towels were looking a little frayed and one day the linen had a large tear in it, but all linens were fresh and clean. Overall, and excellent stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A Recommed Stay"
The staff were great, hospitable, friendly and engaging. The parking is obviously a money maker, but it sure is ugly! Although a small room is was well appointed. The air-conditioning was noisy even at the lowest level that we could set, (that setting might not have been working).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great downtown location"
Very good location and hotel all aroundGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location but small rooms"
While I was there the hotel 's AC was not working efficiently. I was moved twice and still no remedy other than a fan was provided.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel location is great, especially for people who would like to visit the Parliament. Hotel room is modern and clean. Bathroom looks great. The only disadvantages are: the room is relatively small; while the parking lot is very crowded.Genuine Expedia guest review
Indigo was whar we expected, whar was advertised .. Clean and close to sights. The parking garage was somewhat difficult to find as well as having to wind our way through another hotel to get to ours ... The 21$ parking rate seems high compared to the other parkings around.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Best hotel, best area, best service!"
What an amazing hotel. My boyfriend and I are students and we stayed here for a weekend trip and it was such a great experience. The staff was so friendly. We got back to the hotel at 2am after a concert and they made recommendations as to where we should order food from - and it was really good and really reasonably priced! They even extended our checkout […] until 2pm for free because we wanted to go out and shop during the day (our flight was at 3:30) and we didn't want to carry our luggage around with us. Everyone was so kind and the hotel was beautiful and super clean. We didn't end up using the gym and pool but they had both and they had a really cool bar too. I would totally recommend this to anyone staying in Ottawa. It's in the perfect area. Super close walk to the Rideau Center (mall) and other shopping. Close to pubs and bars and it's like a 2 minute walk to Parliament Hill too! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Very Nice Place to Stay"
The rooms were very clean with laminate flooring and a nice interior design. Pool and exercise room were no frills but had everything you need. My only complaint was the $21 parking fee which I found excessive.Genuine Expedia guest review
I booked a room for 3 adults and a 15 year old teenager. Upon arrival we were placed in a room that was clean but it was extremely small. We had to move a chair out of the way in order to have room to walk to the bed. Cleaning staff were very nice. If you are thirsty, DO NOT drink the bottle of water in the room unless of you are ready to pay an additional […] $4 for one litre of water. They have a note attached to water bottle that looks like a saving coupon but it is really a note to tell you it is not free. What happened to complimentary water specially when you do not find a mini fridge in the room. When I brought up my concern on the check out, staff did not do anything about it except saying that there was a note on the bottle. I was also charged $21 for parking with the worst possible entrance. We had to go through a very narrow entrance to the parking level and walk through 2 different buildings to reach the hotel. We will not return to this hotel in the future. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to downtown attractions"
Enjoyed the stay. Very clean and staff very friendly. One complaint would be the slamming room doors in the early hours - 2:00 a.m.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Bad parking and towels"
The hotel is great but the parking is terrible. You need to follow a maze to return. Also, towels at the hotel were like sandpaper. I would not return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel- room was comfortable for 3 adults- had to hunt down an extra mug for coffee machine as there were only 2- also had to find some wine glasses as there were none in the room.Somewhat inconvenient trying to get from parking garage to the actual hotel but the hotel itself was very nice and clean, and quiet despite being downtown.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great first impression of Ottawa"
Everyone was very welcoming! it was a lovely hotel. A little loud in the rooms that are open to the lobby, just ask for a quieter room and its great! The beds aren't the most comfortable but were still decent!Genuine Expedia guest review
Clean hotel period, from the parking area to the lobby to our room. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Great location, you can walk everywhere near Parliament Hill and the By Ward market in minutes. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great stay for marathon"
Wwe stayed at Hotel Indigo on marathon weekend. The location is perfect, just one block from the starting line. Hotel is clean, attractive, and rooms do not carpet (a big plus). Staff was very helpful, and the noon checkout meant that I could finish the race and take a shower before checkout. The onyl complaint is that the pool water was cold. Fortunately, […] the jacuzzi was perfect. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was located in the downtown core, which is what we wanted. We never visited the restaurant, as we just headed for the front door & started walking. We were close enough that we could walk to Parliament Hill, Byward Market & dozens of great restaurants & coffee shops. The room was super large, king size bed comfy & the hotel supplied Aveda […] products in the bathroom. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Location - Pleasant Stay"
Enjoyed it very much. Well located for downtown Ottawa's attractions. The hotel is very nice, modern decor and comfortable room. Would definitely recommend Hotel Indigo to anyone going to Ottawa for either a vacation or business.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely, fresh aesthetic; great location"
Indigo is a unique brand, and I know my hotel brands! Firstly, it's a boutique hotel, with just 100 rooms. The Ottawa location has a beautiful atrium and eveyrthing feels light a bright. I love that the decor is fresh and bright: yellows, blues and whites. It feels much less "institutional" than a typical hotel room. The location is very central in […] the Ottawa downtown core. We enjoyed our stay and have already recommended this hotel to friends. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"clean but over-priced!"
The room was by far the most clean of all the hotels we have stayed at in Ottawa - we have stayed at several over the past few years - and the most modern, however, not the most comfy! There was a ridiculously wide gap between the headboard and the rest of the bed and the pillows were partly falling in causing an uncomfortable sleep. The hotel was operating […] a single elevator (although I can't really blame them - the International Union of Elevator Constructors (IUEC) across Ontario went on strike last week so .. ) which meant we had to wait over 15 minutes for a lift. Also, the parking elevator was separate from the building and shared with another hotel, we had to drag our bags, a stroller and a two years old child across two sets of stairs before we got to the main elevator on the other side then a few more steps up before we got to the room .. and this is a relatively small hotel so it wasn't the distance rather the uneasy path. The parking is at the 3rd floor under the building with a one-way passage that allows only one vehicle at a time, extremely narrow, you'll need to be a good driver if you have a big car! And the hotel has no view .. seriously, no view. For these reasons I'd say it's nice to have a clean place to stay at and I enjoyed that but it was extremely over-priced because of the other reasons. The location is very comfortable, walking distance to major attractions. However staff was not very willing to provide help/information to a family of first time Ottawa visitors. Breakfast at the hotel was so-so, not worth the money I would say. Parking pricey and one has to walk through Marriott hotel to get to the garage. Pool was closed and it wasn't […] clearly stated so on the website . This was a major drawback for us as a family. Having young kids we wanted to take them to the pool as Ottawa doesn't have much in terms of evening fun. Again, the location is superb and the room was OK. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Short, very pleasant stay at the Indigo in Ottawa"
staff were great on check in, friendly and attentive. hotel was clean and tidy and clearly well maintained, could have done with a kettle in the room to make tea ( there was a coffee machine but they aren't good for making tea ) otherwise my stay was enjoyable and I would use the Indigo again in Ottawa.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bring your shoe horn"
Rooms for queen bed are small. The palce has a great location. We stayed several nights and enjoyed the free WiFi, which as as service is now standard. No movie channels and the parking is in another hotel, at the lowest level and with very tight access rounding the corners in a SUV.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
