The hotel is centrally located in the downtown staff are extremely friendly ,be advised parking is a little tricky to get into but it is nice to have. Also if your looking for something to do after 6 take the ten minute walk to the byward market area as most things in this Area are closed after 6 with the exception of a few pubs

Nicely located hotel with well appointed and quiet rooms and excellent, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast is good value but be aware that "breakfast included" means a $20 voucher to share between two people and it is a la carte with nothing available for under $10 so you will have to pay extra. At arrival a young man that seamed to be a manager was rude at reception and kept saying my VISA card wouldn't go through when I had just used it 10 minutes before. The location of this hotel - a few blocks from Parliament, is excellent. On the surface it looks like a boutique hotel. In reality it is a motel dressed up as a boutique hotel. The rooms look pretty, but the floorboards are alarmingly spongy, the bed desperately uncomfortable, the coffee machine broken, and the coffee packets stale. The "view" was of […] the inner atrium, this means the "view" was actually of the corridor and the entrance doors to the rooms opposite. This means you cannot possibly have the curtains open as everyone can see right into your room. I opened them to try to get a glimpse of the weather through the atrium skylight one morning and the cleaner guy collecting the bedding from the rooms opposite waved at me. It was very, very wrong. So I was stuck with no natural light at all for the entire time I spent in the room. The woman who checked me in was rude and so far removed from being a people person it was beyond belief. The fitness room is signed, grossly, "phitness room" and the door handle was broken and the only thing stopping you from being locked in forever was a towel being used as a door stop, with a handy note suggesting you don't close the door or you will be trapped. The cafe was bad (non-dairy creamer instead of milk for coffee? Could you cut costs more??). Overall this was hugely disappointing and absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay there again. Hotel is rather nice as a whole. Room was fun, with a couch, a reading chair, large king size bed, cute LCD tv, flooring instead of carpets and an overall nice bathroom+shower. Hotel was gorgeous i really liked it. Very Clean, helpful staff. Took me some time to figure out where parking was and what to do. Then i found the drop off sign infront of the hotel. Our party was myself, 2 adult daughters and a 6 yr. old grand daughter for Canada Day weekend. Staff went out of their way to make her feel special and welcome. In walking distance of all we wanted to do and see. No frig in room but very clean and comfortable.

Pleasant but a bit cheaply reno'd; beauty is skin deep. Mattress was ol-style. Like the size oif the hotel and general environment was appealing, but quality of furnishings and general upkeep (paint here and there) is not as good as it looks in photos.

There was supposed to be a jet bath tub in the reservation we requested and there was only a shower. I was unable to bathe our infant son and was unable to relax later in the tub as I had planned. That was what I was most looking forward to.
