"Good Location but don't expect much."
Well I needed a decent place that wasn't over $300/night in a good location for only two nights. This was it. No real amenities except they kept a clean room.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, though cramped room"
I picked up a last minute room for a business trip through Expedia's "Unpublished Rate" hotel deals. Turned out to not be such a great deal. Maybe the Mansfield, put me into a lesser room because I got it through the promotion. But this in no way was a "4 star" hotel as indicated by the promotion. While the staff was very gracious and nice, the room […] was cramped, the air conditioner shook and hummed all night, their were cracked tiles in the bathroom above the sink, the room had no natural light as it looked out on a narrow four-wall brick passage. I made the mistake of looking for a bargain. Next time I'll spend the extra money for a real 4-star experience. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I'm not sure why everyone was making a huge deal about the size of the room. It was a perfect petite size. The bed was so soft it was like sleeping on a cloud. The amenities were great. I would love to stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not worth the expense"
It was awful for over $500.00 per night! I had to unplug the window air conditioner unit to plug in the hair dryer. It is old and small which is like a lot of NY hotel rooms but needs to have electricity updated. Window air unit was so close it was blowing in my face all night long. No tub......only shower unit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Will stay here again."
Did not expect a suite, but got a spacious one. Everything except for small bathroom was greatGenuine Expedia guest review
Very clean hotel and very helpful and friendly staff, room was extremely small but that's NYC. We could walk just about anywhere we needed to be. Two streets from times square and about a block away from where we had business training. Would stay there againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel in a location close to Times Sq."
Hotel location was great - I went up to see Kinky Boots. Conditions at hotel were very nice, although my particular room was a bit too dark for me. But it was clean and the staff was very friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good midtown location"

"Perfect spot in NYC"
I really enjoyed this hotel. Something about it just felt right. Service was always polite and friendly and very accommodating. Nice "library" to hang out in with wifi and delicious espresso/cappucinos. A two minute walk to Times Square and just a little more to the heart of the theater district. "Great location, needs an attitude change"
I chose this hotel based on a "sale price" & location. While there, rooms were advertised for $100 less/nt than I paid. We had a worker enter our room, having been told it was vacant. Front desk confirmed we paid for 3 nts & had us in system. No apologies. No greetings as we came & left each day, passing by registration at this "intimate", quaint property. […] Our room a/c was not functioning our 1st nt. Was fixed- no note. Though coffee is available in the lobby 24/7, in room coffee would be appreciated. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pleasing hotel in midtown."
Small but comfortable room with window unit air conditioner (expected given the building's age). Minor inconvenience was quickly redeemed with upgrade to a suite, which was roomier and just as comfortable. Staff was very responsive and courteous. We would go back and stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
Friendly staff, very helpful! Very clean and comfortable room. And so close to everything! Really fantastic experience.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Comfortable in good location"
Got their special for under 100. It is a small room with a full size bed and not much room otherwise. Enough to walk around the sides of the bed. Small but clean bathroom with a shower. Good for a single and only one or two nights. Dark decor, with a bench by the window. No desk or coffee machine in room. TV okay, abit fuzzy reception. Location next […] to 5th avenue. Get a larger room if staying longer. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very cool hotel near Times Square"
First timers to New York and this was walking distance to everything. Very clean but small hotel. Very nice bar that wasn't open as much as I would have liked and no live music which I thought they would have. Rooms were small, but very clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
I loved it there. The staff was very accommodating. I had a single room and my cousin, like me, got stuck in the city. They immediately upgraded me to a room with a pull out sofa bed. Very friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay again and would highly recommend this hotel to everyone.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the old style of this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Quiet block in nice area. Close to Times Square and 5th ave. shopping. Staff was friendly and inviting. Room was small, but had old New York vibe.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very servicable hotel; very convenient location"
The Mansfield is well located (E 44th and Madison Ave) and convenient to all mid-town sites. The room was clean and the hotel is well maintained. It also has a wonderful lounge. Like many old properties, my room was small. My only complaint is that there can be a lot of noise from the hallway. I got a 2 a.m. wakeup from lodgers who decided to have a […] conversation in the hall. They were not shouting, but I could plainly hear the conversation. Also, the heating is central hot water, so the room can get quite hot in the winter. I ran the air conditioner (too loud), but opted to putting two pillows over the radiator grate and opened the bathroom window. All was well. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel in times square. Off the busy avenue... quiet and tucked away..room was beautiful..friendly staff.. very cozy. Two thumbs up!Genuine Expedia guest review

The room was nice and cozy, the staff was attentive, the location was great and the staff was fantastic.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice lobby, small room"
We enjoyed our stay particularly the location near both Fifth Avenue and Times Square. The security was very good but the bedrooms were the second smallest that I have stayed in New York. There was no where to put your clothes so they stayed in the suitcase.Genuine Expedia guest review
"everything is wonderful except one thing!"
If there is a safe in the room!! Thant was really sorry for that perfect hotel! Of cause I asked about a safe two times when I have time, and they say "O.K. tomorrow morning a engineer will come." I did not reconfirm them about it next morning, because it has not a priority in my mind. I have so many things to do, and no engineer appeared. Without that […] small matter about a safe, everything is really wonderful. In the morning New York Times and hot coffee are waiting for me in the library with comfortable sofas. The musical theaters are just few minutes walk from the hotel. Before the musical I checked it on the web cite. There are two computers connect to internet. One of them connect to a printer. The room, I like it, has enough space for my suitcase, a desk for my study, a couch where I put my stuffs, small table near the bed where I put drinks. I will use this hotel next time too. "Small rooms, good service."
Staff attentive to needs. Close to Times Square. My wife and I stayed in deluxe room, but room was very small. Small tv, small bathroom, small sink, small shower; everything was made for miniatures.Genuine Expedia guest review

"convenient location with lots of charm"
Was there for SBXLVIII, the hotel was centrally located. For it's location remarkable quiet and charming. The fresh baked cookies in the afternoon were my favorite part and that of my friends. Would definitely stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed in the Junior Suite. Great room, but the bathroom was pretty small also they could use more lighting. The only light in the living room was a small desk lamp and a floor lamp which was missing a light bulb. Otherwise, it was a great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
in response to many of the reviews, I got the suite - can't imagine having a smaller space..... the suite, however, was great!! bath was tiny, but sitting area made up for that. Location was very central and great restaurants on the street.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Winter's stay at the Mansfield"
I love old restored properties and this one fills the bill. Opened in 1912 as a gentlemens' club; rooms are small and bathrooms smaller, but both stylish and efficiently furnished/supplied.Cozy reading room with lots of NY Times available each day-no charge. "Nice Hotel with great location"
The hotel is very well located less than 60ft of 5th ave and 2 blocks from times sq, the rooms are small but no tiny, theres no place to put your clothes, but overall is a great place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Gorgeous 19th Century Club Turned into Hotel"
The Mansfield is an elegant hotel that recalls times past, but is rooted in the modern era. Originally a mens' club and hostelry, it was refurbished into rooms at some point in the recent past. The refurbishment was done with a respectful eye toward the past, and is really lovely, particularly the terrific bar/restaurant on the first floor. Rooms are […] typical NYC: very tight quarters, but then again, you're not in NYC to spend time lolling about the room anyway. The staff is efficient and responsive, and the hotel was very clean. I would definitely stay there again, if only for the pear martinis! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Decent hotel close to Times Square. Plenty of shop"
Small room, old building, but those are the only pitfalls. Great staff, great bar, great location. Kind of pricey, but what else can you expect for the location?Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good overall - but needs better lighting"
Good - especially in a pinch - just before a snowstorm; but the rooms need better temperature control and better lighting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was out dated, outlets didn't work, bathroom was dirty at check in, the bed was a rollaway and the staff wasn't helpful nor friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
the room is actually quite smaller than we expected, guess because of it is in new york city. but it is quite clean and good. i like there is a room next to the lobby which has free coffee and lemon water.... enjoyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet in the midst of the city"
Great boutique style hotel and although we had a view of a brick wall, it was very quiet and we slept so well in the midst of the city. We needed that rest after a red eye flight from the west coast. Loved the M Club for breakfast and evening drinks and appetizers.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel with excellent staff, small rooms"
We loved our stay at the Mansfield, fantastic spot for the price. The room is not large by any means, but that is to be expected with an old hotel. All of the communal space is phenomenal and heavily-used, which makes for a fun atmosphere.Genuine Expedia guest review
A small hotel but the best we have been to. We don't spend much time in the room when we are in NY so clean, nice bed, hugh great shower, quiet and no bed bugs that's all we need. I will contact them again for our next trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location but rooms are awful."
Rooms are way too small, the layout is very uncomfortable. Had to change rooms 3 times to find something more or less suitable. But location is just great! For everything - shopping, eating and partying.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Macys Parade Vacation"
First trip to New York. Evan though the weather was very cold and wet for most of the 5 days we were there, we really enjoyed the visit. The Mansfield Hotel was a great location for touring most of New York walking. Times Square was just 5 min. away. Macys and the Empire State Bldg. just a 15 min. walk and Central Park was a 30 min walk. The Macys Parade […] came down 6th Av., only a half block from the Hotel. On the same street as the Mansfield was a very good restraint named the Red Flame. We at least five meals at the Red Flame, including Thanksgiving Diner, and the food and service was outstanding and reasonably priced. The Mansfield was a older Hotel, but was well kept and had lots of old style charm. Our room was a little small, but exactly what we expected in an older hotel in mid-town NY. The staff was always available and helpful if needed. If we ever go back to New York for another visit, I would certainly consider staying at the Mansfield. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
