"Nice Hotel with great location"
The hotel is very well located less than 60ft of 5th ave and 2 blocks from times sq, the rooms are small but no tiny, theres no place to put your clothes, but overall is a great place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Gorgeous 19th Century Club Turned into Hotel"
The Mansfield is an elegant hotel that recalls times past, but is rooted in the modern era. Originally a mens' club and hostelry, it was refurbished into rooms at some point in the recent past. The refurbishment was done with a respectful eye toward the past, and is really lovely, particularly the terrific bar/restaurant on the first floor. Rooms are […] typical NYC: very tight quarters, but then again, you're not in NYC to spend time lolling about the room anyway. The staff is efficient and responsive, and the hotel was very clean. I would definitely stay there again, if only for the pear martinis! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Decent hotel close to Times Square. Plenty of shop"
Small room, old building, but those are the only pitfalls. Great staff, great bar, great location. Kind of pricey, but what else can you expect for the location?Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good overall - but needs better lighting"
Good - especially in a pinch - just before a snowstorm; but the rooms need better temperature control and better lighting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was out dated, outlets didn't work, bathroom was dirty at check in, the bed was a rollaway and the staff wasn't helpful nor friendly.Genuine Expedia guest review
the room is actually quite smaller than we expected, guess because of it is in new york city. but it is quite clean and good. i like there is a room next to the lobby which has free coffee and lemon water.... enjoyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Quiet in the midst of the city"
Great boutique style hotel and although we had a view of a brick wall, it was very quiet and we slept so well in the midst of the city. We needed that rest after a red eye flight from the west coast. Loved the M Club for breakfast and evening drinks and appetizers.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel with excellent staff, small rooms"
We loved our stay at the Mansfield, fantastic spot for the price. The room is not large by any means, but that is to be expected with an old hotel. All of the communal space is phenomenal and heavily-used, which makes for a fun atmosphere.Genuine Expedia guest review
A small hotel but the best we have been to. We don't spend much time in the room when we are in NY so clean, nice bed, hugh great shower, quiet and no bed bugs that's all we need. I will contact them again for our next trip.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location but rooms are awful."
Rooms are way too small, the layout is very uncomfortable. Had to change rooms 3 times to find something more or less suitable. But location is just great! For everything - shopping, eating and partying.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Macys Parade Vacation"
First trip to New York. Evan though the weather was very cold and wet for most of the 5 days we were there, we really enjoyed the visit. The Mansfield Hotel was a great location for touring most of New York walking. Times Square was just 5 min. away. Macys and the Empire State Bldg. just a 15 min. walk and Central Park was a 30 min walk. The Macys Parade […] came down 6th Av., only a half block from the Hotel. On the same street as the Mansfield was a very good restraint named the Red Flame. We at least five meals at the Red Flame, including Thanksgiving Diner, and the food and service was outstanding and reasonably priced. The Mansfield was a older Hotel, but was well kept and had lots of old style charm. Our room was a little small, but exactly what we expected in an older hotel in mid-town NY. The staff was always available and helpful if needed. If we ever go back to New York for another visit, I would certainly consider staying at the Mansfield. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Five Star Location with Two Star Service"
Outstanding location with very clean rooms. (Thanks to the excellent maid service!) But, the front desk staff has not been trained to provide four star service. I received two incorrect invoices under my door two days before I was due to check out. One had all the personal identifying information for another guest. (I had prepaid everything via Hotels.com.) […] Upon check-out, I had to come to the front desk -- three times -- because the card key had been deactivated despite arranging for a late check-out. With a little training this could be a great four star hotel. As it is, I would give it maybe a "three". Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
They tried to make us pay more as we arrived, room small bathroom ridiculously small. Terrible check in experience. Close to times sq, a bit noisy from street and under construction. Lousy signage a bit hard to find. Would not recommend staying here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!"
The Mansfield Hotel joins its sister 4th street boutique hotels for their excellent location and comfortable accommodations. My room, which was called a deluxe, was very comfortable, not too noisy, but with an extremely small bathroom. There is a nice coffee/reading lounge in the lobby, and a bar/restaurant. "Stayed in roadside motels which were nicer."
Stayed hear overnight after seeing a show at the Garden. Was rated as a 4 star hotel when I booked it, expected more. The staff was friendly enough, and the lobby was immaculate. Unfortunately, the room we had was not well maintained. There were a couple of broken slats in the blinds, the cover to the radiator, which doubled as a window seat, was dislodged, […] and the mattress sagged from foot to top. Even the cushion to the window seat had small tears. The room was tiny, so much so, that the bathroom required double hanging doors to allow them to clear the foot of the bed. I booked this room so me and my wife could stay in the city after a show at the garden. I was embarrassed once I saw it. I could see the disappointment in her face. "Great location and staff. Well appointed rooms"
We lived staying at this hotel. More boutique hotel and very friendly and helpful staff. The only negative comment would be the lighting in our room. We had a junior suite and the lighting was always very dim. Difficult to get ready both morning and evening when you cannot see everything!Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is an older hotel and it was great! The hotel staff was very accommodating and the location was great, we would stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Pretty good service and location for NYC. Its a bit pricey but understandable with the location. I would rate their pet friendly policy as the best things of our stay there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to Times Square"
Good location, good price, no free wireless despite the advertisement, they blamed Expedia for being misleading, it was also covered with scaffolding and cloth so view was no existent. But for convenient place to sleep it was fine.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Awesome staff, very clean, room incredibly small"
The hotel staff was amazing and everything was very clean. The standard room we rented had a window with no light, and the whole room was very dark. Definetly couldn't have stayed more than one night in the placeGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great hotel near Grand Central"
The room was clean and full of necessary amenities. It's a little noisy at night - I'd request a higher floor if I were to stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location/great staff"
Hotel is in a great location - convenient access to Grand Central and Times Square. Staff is most helpful! Rooms are comfortable - no dresser so need to hang things in a relatively small space. But, this is NYC so rooms and storage generally smaller!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Needs to upgrade and new windows! Very noisy!"
I hated the first night. The room was on the front of the building and very noisy at 1 - 4 am. I had specifically asked for a quiet room. The staff wasn't helpful at all. Very disappointed - wont be going back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Perhaps a 3.5 star; but not a 4 star"
As a frequent traveller to NYC, I found The Mansfield Hotel antiquated, and extremely small, the elevator barely supported myself and my luggage, and I struggled to wiggle my way through the small corridors. I would have to say this is not a 4 star as listed, but perhaps more in the 3.25-3.5 star rating in my opinion. It wasn't all bad though the hotel […] front desk staff is amazing, and in room dining was exquisite, I think with some upgrades this hotel could be a solid 4 star, as it's perfectly located, surrounded by great eateries and a stone's throw away from Time Square. Location, location location as always, uppermost for a NYC visit. The Mansfield is an easy walk from Grand Central, close to the Broadway theaters and has a five-star staff. The rest of the experience is a mixture of all the problems associated with old buildings, small rooms, noisy air conditioning, dim, dull lighting (made up for by good reading lights […] over the bed) a bar that's cramped and noisy, a tiny club room with chairs that could only be loved by those over 6 feet tall with good knees. The complimentary espresso machine is a nice touch. My advice, save money by staying at the Mansfield rather than the Algonquin down the street. Walk down to the Algonquin's lounge for a civilized drink. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is in a good location, close to time square, fifth av and near grand central station. Dunkin donut is walking distances. The only thing we didn't like was the coffee, room was small , the air conditioner didn't work well and no vent in the bath room. We would stay there again but upgrade to larger room One other thing I think parking was less […] two days total was $106.00 total, valet parking less if you park your self. "Quiet getaway in the City"
My daughter and I needed a last minute room in NYC. We chose the Mansfield based on price, location and reviews. We loved many things - the character, the library with coffee, the bar, the room and staff. We stored our luggage at the beginning and end of our stay and received help getting a car to the airport = all with ease and friendliness. The room […] was small but lovely. Our only issue was the air conditioner was rather close to the bed which meant cold air blowing on us. I'm not sure if that is true of all the rooms but something to consider. We would definitely stay there again - given prices in NYC we felt like we got a bargain. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I was very disappointed to find out that Wifi is not complimentary. Hotel.com listed complimentary wifi under room details but the front desk rejected it. Staff wasn't very friendly. Overall the room was clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had read a number of reviews of the Mansfield prior to booking. Most reviews mentioned superior customer service. Unfortunately, I did not experience such service. When we arrived, we were informed that the room which we booked was not available because of air conditioning issues and they were ugrading us to a much larger room for one night (our stay […] was scheduled for 4 nights). After the first night upgrade, we would need to pack up our bags, bring them back to the front desk in the morning and we could pick them up later the next day to move into the room we actually booked. There was no apology about this inconveniece. We basically had to 'check out' of the hotel the next day and wait to check back in. Had we planned on spending any time in the hotel during the day, this would have been a huge problem. The upgraded room was an absolute joke, small, no tub, just a small stall shower. The major difference was that it had 2 full sized beds instead of one. When we got into the second room, the air conditioning was so loud and would cut on and off all night. "We have a winner...and it's name is The Mansfield"
Nice location close to the attractions, but just far enough from Times Square to remove the nuisance of the crowds. Was greeted at an early check-in with an offer to hold our bags until our Jr. Suite was available. Returned later than expected that evening and was upgraded to a larger suite at no extra charge. The Yeats Apt. was a wonderful room & just […] fun to be in since my fiance is an artist. Staff was friendly, accommodating, responsive and took care of our needs. The concierge even walked our bags 3 blocks to hail a Town Car after being blocked in by a mid-day parade. Now that is service. The rooms are expensive, but it is NYC and everything is expensive. Overall, just a great hotel, in a great area, with a great staff. We will be back on our next visit to NYC. Highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"New York City Vacation"
Very nice accommodations right off 5th Avenue and easy walking distance to the Rockefeller Center and Times Square. Highly recommend the junior suites for a most pleasant stay in NYC. The Mansfield is quiet, staff is superb, and the facilities very clean. The library and M Bar were most enjoyable as well. We will definitely stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review

The Mansfield is a perfect location for seeing all of the NYC sights and experiencing the city life style. The room was very comfortable for the two of us. "Nice hotel close to Time Square NYC:"
Nice little place to come home to after a day in the city. Staff were generally helpful. When we were there, our phone did not work and the printer in the lobby area did not work either.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was on the smaller side, but comfortable, clean, and overall a good value. The hotel is in a great location (right by Times Square, Bryant Park, and Grand Central). I'd also recommend checking out a great lounge right across the street, the lobby lounge at the Algonquin Hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location - so so comfort"
This hotel is very convenient to the theater district. The room was fine but the lighting was abysmal and it was annoying to listen to the a.c. all the time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Good enough for a week of work."
I thought the staff was just amazing and friendly and helpful. The rooms are adequate, but mine was very small and the window A/C unit was rough.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lots of little things"
DThe hotel is marvelously located in the theater district. However, there were many irritations. First, we were offered help in ordering tickets for the Statue of Liberty. The staff did not go through the Park Service but used a private web page that ended up costing us $14. To compound matters, staff told us which subway to take, but were in error. […] Fortunately, we asked a wonderful policeman who redirected us with the statement, "I'm a New York cop; you can trust me." Secondly, the building behind the hotel has a noisy air conditioning system that impacted our sleep. Staff informed us the next day that we could have changed rooms, but at 11PM who needs that? Thirdly, the air conditioner in the room at times would clank. Fourth, the valet service is an expensive and inefficient trap. It is expensive and took close to 40 minutes to have our vehicle returned to us. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
