Quality Inn Historic District - St. Augustine

This was our first time in St. Augustine so we didn't know where things were located. Turned out not bad at all. The hotel provided a bus pick up to take us to the trolley station and the trolley took us everywhere we wanted to go. The staff was friendly and very helpful! That also worked out for us. The hotel could use some maintenance but overall it was worth what we paid. The room was clean and staff were friendly. The only downside was that our A/C didn't cool as well as we wanted and the fridge didn't work. We did not complain about either to the staff as it was tolerable and we weren't in the room that much anyway. The hotel is not far from the free parking garage for one of the trolley stops so we could have walked but with the free bus ride we didn't have to. Read more

For a hotel whose name is "Quality Inn", I expected a little more quality. The beds were small, appliances were placed on luggage racks, and the location was right in front of a running train that ran in the middle of the night (several times). I have stayed in much nicer hotels for the price I paid at this hotel.

Nothing mentioned on website about train at the back of the property until you sign in at checkin and have to initial that you realise that there is a train track running right next to the hotel. On otherside of very busy road and nowhere to cross to get into historic district.

Due to the proximity to train tracks and the constant passage of very long train tracks, we would 1) never have stayed here. 2) being informed of the tracks on check in only....sign here, to acknowledge there are train tracks, 3) had a miserable night. Phoned hotel.com, and were offered a 20% refund. The motel is way over priced for what it is.

All plumbing fixtures in the room were loose and wobbled. This included sink faucets and spouts and every piece of plumbing in the shower. The pillows were small,and uncomfortable. Pool and hot tub were dirty - needed to be vacumed. There was a cup left on a table in the pool area that stayed there for two days. I thought this hotel was going to be OK but it was not. The train ran by where our room was located every 15 min for 3 hours straight every night setting off my car alarm several times. This hotel states they are close to the sights down-town but they are no where near down-town. They also say they have a shuttle but turns out the shuttle only takes you to the trolley ticket sight. :( Also, we were unable to shower in our room due to the shower being totally unclean. There was hair on the wall from some other guest. Yuck!!

The first room we were put in was a smoking room which reeked and we couldn't get the smell out. The rugs were filthy and the place overall had a dirty feel to it. TV did not work properly during entire stay. Furniture stained and broken. Heavy soap scum on bathroom fixtures. Shower curtain meldewed. No microwave in room. Coffeemaker did not work. Walk/Breezewalks trashy as was the parking aera. Only one handycapped parking space in parking area serving appr. 150 rooms.

Our hotel room was located right on a railroad with trains going by all day/night. Very small for the price. Not that close to attractions. Shower had no real pressure. When we went to breakfast, the waffle bar had run out of batter and had no more waffles. Also, door stuck when you closed it because carpet didn't fit correctly. All in all, will look for different accommodations next time.

The worst stay in a hotel EVER!!! The worst experience of a hotel stay ever, coming from somebody in the hotel business. First of all the hotel is next to the railroad tracks. On fist impression we had noticed that from the adjacent room above us was used to run a "call girl" service (lot of traffic in and out of shady women). The second "occupants" made an entrance at a time when me and my wife were in bed... very uncomfortable situation. after a trip to the front desk we found out the the room never registered as occupied at their system. we asked for another room (we received the next over the the first). My wife went for a shower and she came out horrified! There was a CRAB in the bathroom!!! We did not reported it at the time as we did not expect much to be done from management, we just switched to another hotel on the next day. P.S. the breakfast is worst quality that MacDonald's. The Hotel is more like a Motel. Staff are great but they really should update a little bit. Computers did not work, room is really small, and it was a bit far to downtown. On the plus they do provide inroom refrigerator and microwave.

My stay at this hotel was bad, but with no fault to the hotel or staff. The neighboring room was so loud, and they sat outside drinking til 1am. I finally called the front dest, and they took care of it. The hotel was nothing to write home about, the room could have been cleaner, and the drain in the shower could not keep up with my shower.

The room was dirty and there was mold growing around the window. The bed was extreamly uncomfortable. I will never use a quality inn again! We checked out a day early and went to a sleep inn hotel and the sleep inn was amazing! For the same price we got a huge room and everything was just awesome! The room was very spacious and comfortable. I especially loved the shower. Great shower power! However, the carpet was very old and there was a piece of gum stuck on the carpet between the beds. We had to be conscious not to step on it. The railroad tracks were located right across our room, so we were woken up by the train in the middle of the night. […] We never made it to the hot breakfast, which was included, because it only ran till 9:00 AM. I stay overnight in st Augustine a lot with my daughter as we don't live far away. Its clean enough an all but there are train tracks literally right outside the door. No trees or anything. It woke me at 11:30pm and 7 am. It was tolerable for one night but if you're planning a longer visit this could get annoying. The cable is very basic, no nickelodeon […] even. The in room wireless was terrible. I couldnt check my email even. Good breakfast with sausage eggs waffles and all the dry goods too. The distance was a little annoying too because it's just far enough away from st George street that you can't walk it. There are other hotels in the area that offer trolley service pick up. My stay was strictly business this time. The room was quiet and I found it in average condition. The next morning though, I was very surprised to find the actual owner serving breakfast and making waffles. It was great, to see the owner running the show at the in house restaurant. Its people like that which really make a difference when you are traveling away from family and friends. I will definitely recommend this hotel to others. I am glad I found this hotel so close to St. Augustine. When I was a kid, my Dad would take our family up for Vacations almost every other year. I use to love seeing all the historical sites and especially the big cannon fire at the fort. Staying at this hotel made some of those memories come back to me.
