Breakfast was very basic and totally unseasoned. Also, it was raining all night and there was quite a bit of noise from the water inside the room. You are better off on the top floor because even the slightest walk from the person above your room will wake you up !

nice big room, did not realize it was a kicthenette, which was great. The staff were very freindly and I really liked the cucumber infused water dispenser they had as you walked in the door, very refreshing. We we would stay again.

The staff at our hotel was always pleasant and helpful. The free shuttle got us to and from the convention center for and was on time, clean and the driver very nice. The breakfast is outstanding and free. The rooms were clean and comfortable except for the hide a bed. There was no way a person would be able to sleep on it. Extremely nice unit. Very clean room and the bed was very comfortable. Having a Kitchen in the unit was very convenient and helpful, not having to hassle with going out and dealing with the downtown driving and parking issues. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. I am so glad to have booked here. We decided on a last minute weekend in KC and this hotel could not have been more perfect. We had a 2 person apartment. The mattress on the bed had urine stains, the pull out sofa bed was broken and had sharp jutting edges. The hotel is quite a trek to the centre although a courtesy bus was provided between 7am and 10pm, but he expected to be tipped more than a cab would cost! Next time I will stay in anywhere else!

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 7 yr old, 6 yr old, and 3 yr old) stayed comfortably in a room with two double beds and a pull-out sofa bed. The room had all the amenities. We expected one of those mini-fridges built into the entertainment center. Instead, the room had a full-service kitchen, complete with oven/range, dishwasher, and full sized fridge/freezer. […] The continental breakfast was better than most we've experienced in other hotels. We were the only family that we saw on the premises, but received no complaints from the staff or others staying at the hotel. With charter service running to the K.C. IRS and Social Security buildings, it appears that the hotel is primarily used by people who are traveling for work and are staying for extended periods. We only stayed 2 nights, but would definitely consider booking at this hotel again if we were having an extended stay. Hotel was very easy to get to and it was easy to get to the attractions and places we visited in K.C. from the hotel. In fairer weather, we would have walked more to places like the Crown Center and Union Station. VERY affordable, especially in light of the amenities (including free in-room wi-fi and free parking) and location. Read more

Well didn't get much sleep because people going up and down the stairs. The door you had to hit it with your hip to get it open(jammed). We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary by staying in the penthouse suite. The suite had 2 bathrooms (one for me and one for my wife). This was very nice because my wife and I didn't have to cram into one small bathroom when getting ready to dress for a dinner date. The 2 baths were also nice because I could take a bath whenever I wanted to and didn't […] have to wait for my wife to get out of the bathroom. She also didn't have to wash out the tub after she got out so I could take a bath (as is the case in all our other hotel stays). The penthouse has 2 floors--one main floor and a loft for the second floor. We slept in the cozy loft bedroom. The night receptionist was kind enough to give us a free Duraflame Gold Fire Log that produced the biggest, brightest flames for 3 hours. It made our special celebration occasion perfect. All of the receptionists and maids were helpful and very sociable. The only complaint I had with the suite is when the unit furnace would come on, we would hear a loud "clunk". Yet, we stayed 3 nights and was very comfortable. We had a quiet romantic stay. The hotel is located near Crown Center and about 15 minutes from the Plaza. If you like these 2 areas, then Residence Inn Union Hill is the place to stay. The exercise room is small, but fortunately for us, no one (except us) used the exercise room in the early morning hours for the 3 days. The exercise room has an AudioStrider 990 Pro eliptical exercise machine. This was great as it helped relieve the pain in my back due to my arthritis inflammation. (Maybe I'll buy one of these machines...) Our penthouse suite was very clean, had the latest decor, fancy light fixtures, accommodating appliances, and was well furnished. The free wi-fi was nice and fast; I easily connected my Kindle fire to the hotel's wi-fi with no problems and no surprising pauses or disconnects. Will stay here again in the future. Read more

This was my second stay at this hotel. Good location, easy parking, comfortable room. But I encountered several maintenance needs during a 1-night stay. I entered my room and found a device, which turned out to be a collapsible crib, which was not removed after the previous guests left. When I tried calling the front desk I found both of the phones […] in the room were not working. I returned to the front desk and was assigned a different room, which was clean and comfortable. In the morning, the coffee maker quit working after brewing about 1/4 pot of coffee, and I could not get it to work. Then the overhead light in the kitchen stopped working. I notified the front desk as I checked out that morning. Although my stay was pleasant, I think I encountered too many glitches for a 1-night stay. Perhaps it was coincidence, but I think maintenance could be better. Read more

Smelly garbage overflowing in trash bin in the parking lot when we checked in. The hotel is constructed of 3 floor FRAME HOUSES each with 6? rooms. the floors are thin and noisy if you don't have a top floor room. The outside stairways are very noisy. Furniture sofa and chair broken down.

Staff and Suite was excellent ! Having a kitchen in our suite was unbelievably handy and would recommend it to anyone who stays more than one day. They had an awesome breakfast each morning in their dining area with a wide variety of breakfast food and drinks. You won't regret picking this hotel!

This is hotel at its finest. They did a really wonderful job when constucting this hotel as you feel like you are in your own home, no sound, very secluded! I stayed here for the biggest concert in the country, Rockfest and they did a great job accomidating all the guests. The breakfast was seriously superb!!!

If you need a place to stay for an extended period this hotel would work, just bring your own cleaning supplies. For a business trip, I wouldn't recommend it. Its setup like several small apartment buildings. There are not any elevators so I had to lug my bags up 2 flights of stairs. My TV wasn't working correctly, and the rooms are surface clean but […] very dirty if you look at the windows, door frames, and corners of the room. The breakfast area is very cramped and cold items were usually not cold. Also I felt uncomfortable with the amount of activity in the parking lot, there were always several people hanging out.
