Stayed over Memorial Day week-end. Greeted right at door by some smiling and pleasant employees. Room was very clean and comfortable. All week-end from valet to room service the employees were very pleasant and helpful. Only issue was in the Marina Kitchen restaurant - service was pretty slow one night. When there for lunch and drinks on the first […] day. Food was great, but service was slow. however went back another morning for the breakfast buffet and service was very good and food was great. Overall a great place to stay. This is my third stay there, first two times were on business. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nickel and dime you"
Look the hotel was excellent to stay at, but unless I want valet parking (I hate having my travel reliant on some slow valet) parking was a nightmare. I also don't like the fact that the little shop was price gauged so bad. I forgot shaving stuff and a hairbrush, and it was nearly $20 dollars for the stuff to shave and a comb. I just wanted a simple […] disposable razor and tiny shave cream, and a throw away comb. The stuff I bought would have been less then $5 at a Target. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I really enjoyed my stay, the entire staff I encountered was super friendly and very helpful. The hotel is really nice and conveniently located in walking distance of everything downtown San Diego. A few minor things in the room, they may have cleaned in a hurry because it was a very busy weekend, but nothing terrible. I'd stay here again and hopefully […] next time be able to utilize the awesome pool area. Thank you Terrance for all your help. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We loved our stay in San Diego. This hotel location was perfect for getting to the airport, Gaslamp district and ballpark. The view from our balcony was outstanding. The hotel was clean and updated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Work in Paradise"
I stayed at the Marriott Marquis & Marina while going to a business conference at the Grand Hyatt. I certainly felt that my stay at the Marriott was much more luxurious from my room, to the food, pool, and staff! It was a wonderful experience!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Location, location, location"
We were on a 7 hour road trip that turned into 10 hours by the time we reached the hotel at 9:45 pm on our first night. The registration and bell staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. The first view from our room was of the extraordinary pool. Such a beautiful sight after such a tiring trip.Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, friendly and helpful staff, nice rooms. Take-out food counter (Exchange) and Starbucks inside of hotel are ridiculously expensive.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Weekend Getaway At Marriott Marquis San Diego"
This was a memorable stay for us, my wife I and my son. Upon arrival the valet was cordial in greeting us, making us very welcome--eventhough they were expecting 1, 000 cars to come that day. The front desk registration crew was excellent. The room with a view of the marina was spectacular. And the facilities clean. The Marina Kitchen offered good food--the […] prime rib, the fish was not as fresh and tasty for the price. Overall rating 4.8 out of 5. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Best Hotel overlooking the Bay and Coronado Island"
Make sure to stay on the Bay view side and in the North Tower. We stayed in the city view side last time on the top floor and could hear the train all night long. The bay side has a beautiful view of the pool, bay, bridge and Coronado Island. The North Tower has a balcony rooms. We left the door open and fell asleep to the sound of the waterfalls echoing […] up the side of the hotel. No need to bring bikes; there is a great set up just outside the pool area. Take the ferry to Coronado Island and bike the strand on the beach. Try the nachos in the outdoor tequila bar. YUM! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Hotel offers excellent amenities, (ie. pool area, fitness room and resturant/bar lounge). It is located close to all the great things San Diego has to offer.Genuine Expedia guest review
This place is AWESOME! It's a huge place. It's extremely nice. It was worth the extra money. The marina is a short walk away. I am a business traveler. I go around the country and this was one of the nicest Hotels I've to. It was just awesome!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great San Diego Location"
We had amazing views of the San Diego Harbor and USS Carrier. Rooms are on the small side, but comfortable. We really appreciated the Starbucks located in the hotel lobby. Location doesn't get any better than this. Perfect proximity to shops and restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Very nice but they nickel and dime you !"
This hotel is very nice, clean and the staff was very friendly and accommodating…they could not have been nicer! BUT, this hotel is now going like some I stay at…the bean counters have started charging for every little thing. $3 for wine glasses (you can keep the glass but who wants it?), no robes for an semi-expensive room, $40 to park your car not […] including all of the valet tips…..this kind of stuff makes one decide to stay at another hotel, which there are many to choose from! Great location though! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Typical convention hotel"
We had a four night stay at the Marriott. The hotel was your typical convention hotel, clean and comfortable but not much in the amenities department. We had a King room on the 12th floor. The view was great, the room was a typical 4 star room, but there was no honor bar, the toiletries were mediocre and the desk had no stationery. The room service […] was very limited (sandwiches, pizza, and 4 choices for entrees) but the service was quick. The hotel had one real restaurant on site but an addition one by the pool and behind the property. The drinks were very pricy in the bar. Overall, a nice stay but for the hefty price of the room, the Hilton across the street form the convention center would have been a better deal for the money. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Internet Should Be Provided With Every Room!!"
Please inform the hotel that the room was lovely, however, with the price of the room, felt that it was not fair to also be charged for wi-fi/internet each day, and request that this is taken off the bill. Executive/Business Travel, paying premium price, should have the wi-fi waived, more hotels are doing this now, as internet access is just part of […] a good room stay, and expected from hotels. MR. "Crown Jewel of the San Diego Waterfront"
Stayed for a weekend in March of 2014. From the moment we exited our car we felt welcomed and at home. The staff is very accommodating and sincerely want to make the experience as pleasant as possible. It is ideally located on the water by convention center, the trolly, and the waterfront walking paths. We especially appreciated the valet staff who […] were prompt and friendly. Sitting by the outdoor bar in the evening is both pleasant and fun. There was a constant presence of security that made my wife feel comfortable without being intrusive. "Beautiful view & within walking distance of water"
I loved how close the hotel was close to many things that you could just walk too, such as the Gas Lamp District and the north & south bays. "Beautiful hotel, great views, excellent location"
This hotel had a lot going for it - beautiful facilities including the rooms and pool area with gas burning bonfires at night, great views from either the bay side or city side, and is located right next to the convention center, a trolley stop, and the Gaslamp quarter. Tons of restaurants are within walking distance, as is the Boardwalk. The downsides […] are that the Wifi is not included and if you stay on the city side of the hotel, it may be a little loud for some (trolley stop, trains, etc.). The staff were very helpful. "Beautiful hotel overlooking the marina"
Me and my fiancé loved the room with the balcony overlooking part of downtown and the marina and boardwalk. We were able to walk to the Gaslamp area as well as other attractions like the U.S.S. Midway Museum. The sunsets were amazing every evening during our stay and we enjoyed the sunrises from the balcony. We spent very little time by the pool/hot […] tub area but it is very nice and feels like a resort. "Great hotel with perfecct location"
The hotel is right by the gaslap district so walking is very easy. Parking is limited and expensive but there is a pay lot accross the street that is a better value. The included breakfast is worth the extra $ sincee there is a pretty good selection. The bar at night is a good spot with go selection and good food. Stayed here twice for family vacation. […] Pool looked good but got shady quick so wonder if it was still warm. Didnt use it but it looked nice. Pros: Comfy bedding, nice views, fitness gym / pool well kept, location ideal for enjoying SD! Cons: Charged Wi-Fi, person answering for room service had a sluggish & depressing tone, no fan in the bathroom, balcony atmosphere was too loud to enjoy with the busy harbor / metro. Overall still an enjoyable experience, but ideally could've paid a bit […] less elsewhere for the same amenities. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Wish we could have stayed longer"

"The Marina is beautiful"
We have stayed at the Marriott Marquis and Marina several times. It is a beautiful hotel with a great pool and lounging area. You feel like you are in Hawaii. We love to walk along Seaport Village and drive into the Gaslamp Quarter for dinner.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perks SHOULD be included."
Although room was nice, with decent view, staff asked about parking but didn't give us correct "key" so we overpaid for inadequate parking (we paid $32 a day, should'be been $28 for hotel guests), and WiFi was extra too. The last night we actually booked a nicer room, closer to the harbor, with free WiFi, a nice balcony, we used free shuttle service […] and bed was much more comfortable at a very reasonable price. "Marriott Marquis & Marina San Diego"
Our stay was great. The hotel is walking distance to everything! It was really nice.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Expensive room service and long line for check-in"
Overall the hotel is good, clean and very well located. The restaurant of the hotel is fantastic, specially for breakfast. We just got a little frustrated about having to stay on line for a simple check-in for almost half an hour when we arrived there. I also found the charges for room service extremely expensive and kind of excessive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great convention location"
If at all possible stay at the Marriott for San Diego conventions. No other hotels are as close and this one has good spots for lobby meetings. Loved my bartender too. "Great Location, High Charge for Amenities"
We stayed here in the week leading up to Thanksgiving. It is conveniently located to the airport, and was conveniently located near the activities we had scheduled (the San Diego Bay Food & Wine Festival, the Fit Foodie 5k race, etc.) We did not have to drive very much in order to get to the things we wanted to attend. We got a room that overlooked […] the harbor, and overall we were pleased with the stay. The parking rates are a bit on the high side, and using Wi-Fi in our room also resulted in a daily charge. If we were to come back to San Diego, we would probably do a little more price shopping of the hotels in the general area to see if a better overall deal could be found. One other complaint - our room keys for some reason would not allow us to gain access to the gym. We were fortunate that another guest was either coming or going at the same time so we didn't have to check with the front desk. All in all, the minor inconveniences and high amenity rates were offset by a nice room with view, and a central location. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
