"Well Worth Getway"
We stay at the Marriott Marquis & Marina from July 1st through July 4th, celebrating both a birthday & wedding anniversary. Although the hotel was very full, everything from the pool side service to the restaurants availablitiy for dining was great - always professional and greeted with a smile. Food was very good whether at breakfest, lunch or dinner. […] A great stay, Marriot was in walking distance of everything we have come to love about San Diego over the years. The only down side to our stay was the availability of parking for those of us who self park - considering one is paying Twenty Eight ($28.00) dollars a night. Definitely have found a favorite spot for future stays. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Room was not ready until after 4:30. Pizza at the exchange was a joke Frozen Pizza. No customer service Great Location, Great Pool, Great resturaunt in South tower. Location Location Location!!!Genuine Expedia guest review
I am a Marriott rewards member and requested an early check in (before 3p). I showed up to the hotel at 245p and they put me in a room on the 26th floor (used for overflow) with a view of the city (versus the bay view that I requested). After requesting to be moved, the front desk manager did move me but not until the 2nd night, and there was no compensation […] for the first night stay. The other issue I had was the valet service. It is $40 a night to park (which is high as it is) and the valet employees are slow to get to your vehicle and apparently there is little to no customer service. When I got my truck there were beer cans thrown in the bed of the truck along with Bird droppings all over it (neither the beer cans or the bird droppings were on my vehicle when I arrived). For what you pay, the service at this hotel is terrible. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina I appreciate that you selected our hotel for your visit to San Diego. I am very sorry to hear that your stay did not go as expected and that the service you received was not what you are accustomed to when staying with Marriott. I have copied our Front Office Manager on the details surrounding your request. The summer months are very busy and particularly the holiday weekends. We try our best to honor the requests and I am sorry that on this occasion we could not do so on your first night. I have also shared your notes with Ace Parking our valet providers so that they can review them. Thank you for your candid post and for staying with us. We hope that your travels will bring you back to San Diego and that you would consider returning to our hotel for a more memorable experience. Kind regards,
Elevators were real slow and pool was over crowdedGenuine Expedia guest review
Response by San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Thank you for selecting our hotel for your recent stay. The summer months in San Diego are very popular and many people gather here around the holidays. I am sorry that you were delayed by the elevator service and for any issues you may have experienced in the pool area. We are looking into these issues and hope to avoid such issues in the future. Kind regards ,
"Beautiful hotel on the bay close to everything"
Beautiful grounds and pool area. Small room but gorgeous city view. Thee are bay view rooms as well. Walk along the marina walkway, bike rental on premise. The line to check in was long but that was due to the holiday weekend. Attentive , friendly staff. Main con is that breakfast is not included but there is a buffet and of course Starbucks on site. […] Needs to have room service from other than the exchange. But I would stay again with the kids. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great hotel on marina."
Nice hotel, pool area, and grounds. Rooms were nice, but I would rate them as average. No iPod docking station and no trash can in room (only in bathroom). Other than that, room as nice and I would recommend the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel Small Bathroom"
The staff is very friendly. We stayed in the north tower which is older than the south. The bathroom is small compare to Hyatt and Hilton. Great location. Walking distance to everything.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The location was great. Walked to Seaport Village and nearby restaurants easily. There was a long line to check in. We let the valet park the car after the luggage was taken out of the car. We were told that if the car stays overnight with the original valet parking it would cost $42 every night. The self park areas were not too handicap friendly. The […] guest directory in the room listed the restaurants in the hotel but did not provide any menus for viewing. Did not know breakfast was a buffet charging $19.99 plus tax per person. This hotel needs more transparency with the amenities and their cost. Overall, it was not bad. The locations is what sold it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by San Diego Marriott Marquis & Marina Dear Carol, Thank you for selecting our hotel for your visit to San Diego. I am glad that you were able to enjoy our location on the bay and so convenient to restaurant and entertainment. I am sorry about any inconvenience you experienced when the menu’s for our restaurant were not available. I have shared your post with our Director of Food and Beverage and Hotel Manager for review of the placement of collateral in our guest rooms. I appreciate your taking the time to post and hope that your travels will bring you back to San Diego and our hotel. Kind regards,

We had a nice view of the water and the city up on the 23rd floor. We could even see the jets coming and going out of Lindbergh field which was fun. Great view from room. Room as expected. Check in was simple and easy. Concierge was awesome. Bar hours are weak, Close too early. Need to get the kids out of the hot tub areas. "Great customer service"
So, they made a mistake at check in and gave me a room key to an occupied room. No biggie, these things happen. I was super psyched that they were so courteous to give me a room upgrade to compensate for the mistake. We had a suite on the top floor with a spectacular view; restaurant is great, cafe is great, gift shop is great, pool is great. I look […] forward to staying there again. "Great hotel with excellent staff and..."
Stayed at this hotel 1 year ago for my moms birthday and returned again for my brothers bachelor party. The location is perfect as its walking distance from Gaslamp district, Petco Park and Convention center. The bellhop that helped take our luggage to our rooms was topnotch and knew how to take care of us. That goes for the rest of the staff as well. […] If you want to relax and take a dip in the pool there are two to choose from. One that is shallow and perfect for children and a deeper one for adults where one can relax with a beer or a mixed drink in hand. Would I recommend this hotel to family and friends? You better believe it. Would I stay again? Without hesitation. Do yourself a favor and stay here if you ever go down to San Diego, you won't be disappointed. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Great hotel but stay out of "The Kitchen""
Fantastic hotel, the views, and the pool area. But the hotel restaurant, Marina Kitchen, is a poor value. Very expensive and mediocre food. My supposedly "fresh" halibut was dry. I like salt in general but their chicken soup tasted like brine - my son couldn't swallow it. Also I can get better tasting breakfast at IHOP for half the price. "Great City Access"
We enjoyed the access to downtown and surrounding areas. I found the Marina Restaurant in the hotel much better than i would expect considering we were a captive audience. We used the harbor front access as well as the short walk to the baseball stadium and the Gaslamp District.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was perfect! Great location to everything. Shopping within walking distance. Harbor view was amazing!Genuine Expedia guest review
"What more could you ask for?"
The hotel was beautiful and the grounds were exceptional! We had a Bay view and the view was breath-taking!! The location was fantastic, and we loved Seaport Village. The shops and restaurants were wonderful! My only complaint would be that the parking was expensive, and so were the alcoholic beverages served poolside. Otherwise our stay was great!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel, Terrible Room Service"
We love room service on our vacations, but this was sad. The food that was sent up came from a convenience store that is located in the lobby. All frozen food heated up and then charged $5.00 to be delivered. We ended up ordering all of our food from the hotel or restaurant next door and had to go pick it up. Also, they have a beautiful resort pool, […] but no service around it. If you wanted lunch or a drink you had to walk up to the grill. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

All in all, we had a very enjoyable stay. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful (we received an upgrade to a top floor room with balcony), and the public spaces and facilities were comfortable and enjoyable. "Very Convenient Location but no good value"
One of the best locations in Seaport Village. However, this hotel is overpriced for the value you get. Room windows were dirty, Internet, parking and breakfast are all at extra cost. "Nickel and dime you"
Look the hotel was excellent to stay at, but unless I want valet parking (I hate having my travel reliant on some slow valet) parking was a nightmare. I also don't like the fact that the little shop was price gauged so bad. I forgot shaving stuff and a hairbrush, and it was nearly $20 dollars for the stuff to shave and a comb. I just wanted a simple […] disposable razor and tiny shave cream, and a throw away comb. The stuff I bought would have been less then $5 at a Target. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I really enjoyed my stay, the entire staff I encountered was super friendly and very helpful. The hotel is really nice and conveniently located in walking distance of everything downtown San Diego. "Weekend Getaway At Marriott Marquis San Diego"
This was a memorable stay for us, my wife I and my son. Upon arrival the valet was cordial in greeting us, making us very welcome--eventhough they were expecting 1, 000 cars to come that day. Make sure to stay on the Bay view side and in the North Tower. We stayed in the city view side last time on the top floor and could hear the train all night long. We left the door open and fell asleep to the sound of the waterfalls echoing […] up the side of the hotel. No need to bring bikes; there is a great set up just outside the pool area.
