Courtyard by Marriott Long Beach Downtown - Long Beach

The hotel was nice just not what we expected in a Marriott Property. There was no information in the room telling us about what the hotel had or surrounding areas. We were able to get that information from the front desk. Employees were nice and friendly.

The decor was a little outdated in the rooms and hallways..didn't match the updated feel of the lobby. The room was clean and comfortable, however the toilet would run every time you flushed so we had to remember to giggle the handle. The location of the hotel was great, very near the convention center and pier shopping.

Nice hotel. Comfy beds. Couple blocks from the beach. Charged for parking and for coffee in the morning, but there was no charge for the wi-fi.

The customer service was excellent. I had minor hiccups (ie key card not working or parking pass not working at the gate) but they were immediately taken care of by staff, all in a very respectful manner. Great experience!

Great overall stay. Parking was 12 bucks a day, but worth it. Staff was pleasant and accomodating. The only thing that seemed missing was a microwave. There was a fridge in the tv cabinet. The bed was a bit soft, but comfortable. The bathroom was well maintained and well lit. The shower was big enough and has good water pressure with a large shower […] head. Nice hotel, they are doing some remodeling thus having a restaurant tyou can pay for now, so cut out the free breakfast whcih is a bummer...but there is a subway less than a block away I go too. Nice place, you have to pay 12 for parking thou a day......and then there are the elevators...only 2 plus a service and they are slow!! Good location - within walking distance to the Aquarium of the Pacific and some shops. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. Unfortunately we were unaware the restaurant and bar were closed for renovation as we were looking forward to the happy hour we had enjoyed there before.

We enjoyed our stay there. Beds were great. Service good. We could walk a block to a Von's for snacks and other items. Walking distance to beautiful performance center. Frig in room. Restaurant was being remodeled so hotel provided a free continental breakfast. Downsides; nightly parking fees are hefty. Actually a very nice hotel win a great location in downtown Long Beach. Restaurant was closed. Looks like the new restaurant will be very nice . Only problem I had was the Wifi was very slow. You get a free password when you check in to iban, but every time I logged in it was very slow, There is a Guest network as well, which worked better sometimes […] and other times also very slow. My myfi with ATT worked much faster then the in house Wifi. Parking was right next door and you get in and out card which worked pretty well. Read more

nice hotel, great staff, convenient location for LB Convention Center. Restaurants close by, and a Vons with a Starbucks in it. Easy to go a few blocks and be running near the water and boats, so made it easy for me to like.

This is a pretty good hotel. The first room I got wasn't cleaned properly and they immediately gave me another room that was clean along with a small care package for the trouble. The staff was very courteous during my stay. The hotel is being remodeled at this time, but I was there on a weekend so no work was going on. The hotel is starting to show […] it's age - the bathtub is in pretty bad shape and the towels/wash cloths are a breath away from disintegrating with light stains on some of them. The bed was comfortable with soft pillows. There is a large LCD TV, a small refrigerator, iron/ironing board, desk, chair, and table. Overall it is a decent place to stay. Breakfast was free due to the construction, but I only grabbed a couple of things to go. It was the typical fruit bar type of breakfast. It is in the heart of downtown. 5-6 blocks in the wrong direction puts you in some rough looking neighborhood. However, there are plenty of restaurants and even a grocery store close by. Buffet under renovation and breakfast was below average. Neighborhood was "diverse", but given it was near the beach in an older neighborhood; the hotel was okay. Friendly staff, eclectic restaurants nearby, and close to the convention center it was okay.

The view we had was awful but I liked that there was a bit of a balcony to walk out onto. They also let us extend check out time by 2 hours which was cool. The hotel is under construction, something not said in any of the material about the hotel. The jacuzzi is not working, we had to go through a service entrance to our room, we had to use a dirty service elevator to get to the pool and exercise area, the furniture in the room was chipped and the "balcony" view was of the alley way where the construction […] workers parked.
