I stayed at this hotel from 2/8-2/10...really enjoyed the stay...I was a tourist ...so was out all day and would only use the room for sleeping at night...I enjoyed the stay...It close to pretty much all the attractions in Austin...10-15 min drive to the 6th, the state capitol building, the congress bridge....and barton springs pool....was kinda skeptical […] abt the road noise since this hotel is located right next to 1-35, but to my surprise...this hotel is quiet...They have a simple breakfast in the morning...kinda one that gets you going....I would definitely stay at this hotel!!! This hotel is perfectly fine for a stay over in the Austin area. It's minutes away from downtown, even in early morning Austin rush-hour traffic. The staff was friendly and helpful, and even though it is located right off of I-35, it's not as noisy as I had expected (although I would still recommend earplugs if you need absolute quiet). They had all the standard "free breakfast" items like muffins and cereal, but also had hard boiled eggs, yogurt, and ham/egg/cheese breakfast croissant sandwiches. Granted, they were refrigerated and had to be microwaved, but it still tasted fresh and was a great option for a quick on-the-run breakfast. Hotel was great! I was allowed to check in early and room was already cooled and stayed a nice temperature. The front desk staff was friendly and answered all our questions. The continental breakfast was probably the best feature of the hotel with very many options. The drive into downtown Austin was only about 5 minutes.

The staff were fantastic and very helpful -- went out of their way to be accommodating. Loved having lemon water, coffee, chips, cookies, and fruit available in the lobby at all times. The beds were extremely comfortable.

This hotel was extremely clean and well-maintened. I had a hard time finding it because it was my first time in Austin and was not familiar with the city. The personnel was very polite, respectful and friendly. The hotel provided a delicious breakfast as well as Wi-FI. The rates were very affordable. I strongly recommend this hotel.

There are major issues with vibrating from the air vents on the second floor. The room and hallway had a horrible vibrating sound. The management changed our room (1st floor was fine) and acknowledged that there were issues with the second floor vents. But since the hotel was low on occupancy that day it was not a problem to find us another room (made […] me question why we were put on a floor with known problems when others were available.) The day after checkout we noticed our discover card had charges from the hotel pending (it was a prepaid room and we were told at checkout that there were no incidental charges.) So I called and was told that the credit card you leave is automatically charged 20% of the room rate just in case but it would be credited shortly thereafter. This is something they just do and we weren't informed. It was annoying to have to take time out of my day to call. Now I have to check with the discovercard website and keep an eye on it. Irritating to say the least. Breakfast was okay but the coffee was gross. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Read more

Hotel was as I expected from a Fairfield, although a bit more wear that I would have liked. Not the best neighborhood but inexpensive and convenient to UT Austin. If you stay here, try Amaya's across the street, great Tacos.

You will have to have a car or take a taxi if you want to go anywere. There are a bunch of hotels in this vicinity and only 1 restaurant. The front desk was great about calling taxis for me.

We were supposed to check in at 3pm and they said the rooms were not ready. We had to wait until 4:15 to check and had to leave immediately to go to the function we were to be at by 5. After coming back to the hotel and checking out the next morning we did not have any time to enjoy the hot tub and relax and clean up for the 5pm function. We were literally held hostage in the pool area as the night manager checked in a "guest"......after we finally escaped, thanks to a Government official who happened to walk in the pool area; we were informed in the elevator as we were escorted to safety..........that the "guest:" was a working girl attempting to turn a trick. I can only guess that […] this is a politically correct statement.....I was told this by two women who witnessed, this woman who may or may not have successfully gained access. look at your security tape. being held hostage in the pool area by a very large hispanic man, and then again being held hostage in our room!. It is all on tape. Thank God for the Government personell who rescued us from the pool area and escorted us to our room!! No security was available according to the desk /night clerk manager. The back door was open in the pool area. After escaping to our room....we could not leave to eat. It was dark. There was no security to escort us to our vehicle. Over all the room was okay, but the room was very warm and took a while to cool down after we went to bed. The room was not ready to be checked in after 4:30 because it had not been cleaned yet. Hotel staff was friendly. The pool is very small but children will love it. The room was nice and comfortable...the only problem was a dirty coffee pot. Other than than, everything was just fine. The buffet breakfast was your basic continental breakfast with waffles and it lasted til 10am which I liked. I would stay there again.

The hotel can be a little tricky to get to if you're not familiar with the Texas highway system's placement of on and off ramps. The hotel itself, however, is an excellent place to stay. The room was cozy; the bed was comfortable; and the lights worked. My girlfriend wasn't happy about having to go the first floor for ice, but I had no complaints.

The Fairfield Inn provided us with a clean, comfortable place to stay at a reasonable cost with lots of free extras. The breakfast is free, includes make your own waffles and the cereal and bananas that were a bit healthier for us. Internet connection was clear and strong enough so I could watch Netflix movies. Best of all was a small, but very nice, […] imdoor pool with a bubbly hot tub. Location is a little out-of-the-way if you don't have a car, but there were several nice seafood restaurants within walking distance. A short walk took us to a bus stop for Austin's excellent transportation system. Get a $2 pass rivet on the bus and ride all day. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Read more

Positives: Clean room, very comfortable (king size) bed, bathtub (not just shower), complimentary breakfast and wireless internet, nice jacuzzi and indoor (small) swimming pool. Negatives: Very small breakfast area - at times quite congested during breakfast hours. Overall - nice and clean hotel. I would not hesitate to stay here again.
