Comfort Inn Near Universal Studios Hollywood - Los Angeles

I arrived for a 2 night stay very early and had a lot of bags with me. I called the hotel and asked if I could leave them there until check-in time. Peter at the front desk was extremely helpful. He allowed me an early check in and I went up to my room. I walked in to a wonderful smelling room. I realized that I had left the proper cord for my music […] player at home and couldn't charge it. No problem. I took it to the front desk and the manager, Peter, plugged it into his computer with the USB cord that I had. In an hour I had a fully charged. I had asked if it was okay for someone to visit me there, again, no problem. When my sister walked in, Peter greeted her like she was a celebrity and sent her on up. Most of my trip was spent in the room working with my laptop, but we did go out at night. My review of this hotel was that it was worth the money I had paid for it, the manager was very nice and accommodating, the rooms are large, fresh, clean and comfortable, the beds are so comfy I didn't want to leave. It is a small hotel, with many people from places outside the US. I tried the free breakfast, they had everything you could think of including the now "World Famous" self serve waffle machine that comes in two flavors of waffles. I saved on going out for breakfast. The metro couldn't be closer! You walk up the escalator and there's the hotel doors. Amazingly convenient. The hotel is older and they had some kind of construction happening in the lobby area, do it was a little cumbersome. The manager, Peter, and his staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was good, typical of free breakfasts.

Some friends and I needed a place to stay after a concert at the LA Historic State Park and didn't want to spend a lot. While the Comfort Inn was not exactly glamorous it served it's purpose and was a good deal for the low price. We got checked in quickly and upon seeing our room we we got pretty much what we expected. It was small, but had a mini fridge […] which was much appreciated and plenty of room to spread our bags out. The room was clean, if old and outdated, and there were plenty of towels, pillows, etc. so we didn't need to ask for anything addiitonal. The location is pretty convenient, it was only a few miles to our concert venue and right off the 101. When we came back to sleep I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable the beds were, and other than the people above us who started stomping around pretty early we couldn't head too many outside noises. The service was definitely up there, we had requested late check out of noon, but were still running a bit slow and when we stopped by the front desk he told us to take our time and get out of the room whenever we could, no hurry. It definitely was bare bones, but if you just need a place to sleep and shower it does the job for cheap. Read more

Overall this hotel was just fine for a one night stay. Convenient to Hollywood and was quiet. Good breakfast. I was surprised there was an $8 parking charge but well worth it a it was in a secured location. There were cosmetic items that a little paint would take care of but overall it satisfied what I needed. I would stay again.

We were in town for an event at the Greek Theater, so the location was very convenient. Not the greatest neighborhood, but we never felt unsafe. Hotel is right next to subway station, so we took a trip down to Olvera Street and had a nice time wandering around, shopping, and watching a fabulous Native American dance and drumming performance in the public […] plaza. Front desk personel was kind and the lobby was clean, however, when i got to the room, I found that the back side of the orange curtains had mold everywhere and one of the chairs by the table had all the fabric torn and was hanging down. We just spent one night, going to Universal the next day. The hotel was clean, parking was good, and it looked like it had been recently refurbished. Good price for being close to Hollywood. Neighborhood a little dicey, but not bad and absolutely no problems. I would go back again.

The hotel is literally 10 seconds walk from Vermont/Beverly Metro station, which proved to be very convenient during our stay. Our room was not too specious, but was sufficient. Two standard queen bed were comfortable, clean and nicely made everyday. There were always enough fresh towels available. The bath tub was OK. About the front desk service, there were three guys who were there time to time - two of them were nice and helpful, but the other one was not accommodating. The hotel offered continental breakfast which I liked. The breakfast was supposed to be served from 6am-9am, though in my 4-day stay, I NEVER found that everything was setup if you show up at around 6:30 am. There are not enough space to sit in the breakfast area if you arrive between 7:30 and 8:30 am. It was awkward to stand next to someone who is already seated and eating, and hold the chair so that you don't miss you term to get the seat when he/she is done. What's worse was that the hotel have a notice in the breakfast area saying that every food in that room needs to be consumed there only. Otherwise the stay was good. I had a reservation for 3 nights. But after see the hotel I canceled the last two nights and stayed at another hotel. I only the the first night becuase of the late hour when I arrived. This is not a hotel for families. Poorly maintained, in a terrible area. from my window, I saw person being arrested at the gas station next door.
