When I booked the room . One of the reasons that sold me . Was that it had a heated pool and whirlpool. Well the pool was indoors and slightly heated and there was no whirlpool. Even though it was clearly advertised as having one. Even the sign on the wall by the pool said whirlpool. I was disappointed.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel was a great stay, we have been traveling back and fourth from PA to Mt sterling, due to relocating and house hunting. We have been staying in Lexington because there were no room available in Mt Sterling, but we got lucky this trip and were very satisfied with the Fairfield. Breakfast was great in the morning, after we checked into the room, […] about 15 minutes later our phone rang in our room, it was the front desk checking to make sure everything was good in our room. We will be staying here again for our next trip, no questions asked. Thank You Fairfield for making our stay a Great one!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I biked this at the last minute and it was a oasis at the end of a long day. Great bed...great breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"The hotel is in need of updating."
Staff was ok but overall I would not stay here again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Filthy carpet in rooms."
Filthy carpeting in our room, our feet were black from it.Genuine Expedia guest review
We could not have been more pleased with our room or the attention we received by the staff. The hotel smelled very fresh from the front door. The electronic key did not work on our first attempt to open our door. When I returned to the front desk one of the clerks rescanned the key and accompanied me back to the room to make sure it worked (which it […] did). We had an unexpected emergency situation arise with our party, which effected our reservation and the manager immediately took the proper steps to change the reservation status. We did not eat breakfast at the hotel because we were running late for the MSU graduation. The manager was instructing guests how they might best avoid delay caused by an accident on route 64. This saved us from going through the official detour everyone else was using. We realized it was a HUGE BLESSING when we reached the point where traffic was trying to enter route 60. We arrived for graduation well rested and on time thanks to the extra efforts of our hotel staff!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good service"
The staff was courteous and efficient. Rooms were clean, but showed some wear and tear. Overall, had a fairly good stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great for a quick stop in town"
This hotel was very easy to find. Provided breakfast (waffle maker, cereals, yogurt, bagels, muffins, etc.). FREE WIRELESS INTERNET!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel seemed clean & the staff was super friendly!! We will definitely be staying again!! :)Genuine Expedia guest review
I was in Mt. Sterling area on business. During the four nights that I was at this Fairfield Inn, I had to move 3 or 4 times. This non smoking hotel has rooms that smell strongly of smoke, The front desk supervisor was extremely rude and reluctant to accomodate guest requests. He was argumentative and did not know what he was doing. We even had someone […] try to check into our room, when we were there, The supervisor came up to the room and asked what we were doing in there!!!! ?????....What if they had given the key to someone while we were not there? There were Many issues with this stay and I will not list them all here... I have NEVER been treated this way as a guest of Marriott. Unfortunately experiences like this get bad reviews and reflect badly on the other hotels that have more professional staffing. This hotel needs alot of rehab staff wise and maintainence wise. The breakfast area was crowded and had few choices. I will not recommend this hotel based on what I feel was poor management and poor staffing plus poor maintainence. "Fairfield Inn, Mt. Sterling"
Attending a family event, the location was great and not difficult to find. Our room (king) was comfortable and clean. Liked having a refrigerator in the room. We took advantage of the continental breakfast but thought the area was small to get around and wish there was a little more to offer. No corn dogs please.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Budget Hotel"
This hotel falls in the category of a budget hotel. That being said, it was a very clean, well maintained hotel. Right off the highway, so location is handy for traveling, not a lot to see in area however. Pool was clean & nice. Bathroom had marble sink, nice tub/ shower. Tiles rather modern, new. There was a coffee maker, hair dryer & iron in room. […] Bed very comfortable, down pillows & down comforter was unexpected & very nice touch. The staff was friendly. Continental breakfast was a plus. I have no complaints, except the room did smell slightly musty. Maybe someone had smoked in room prior to us? Everything in the room was clean & well cared for: I checked... So I can't account for the odor. We were in town for a funeral so I didn't have the energy to bring it to the manager's attention. "Good for the money"
Good hotel for the money, however forgot to ask about AAA or AARP and hotel didn't ask, maybe because booked through Hotels.com Problem after stay: discovered I left power cord for digital camera in room, been calling for 2 days CANT GET ANYONE TO ANSWER PHONE!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The beds were very comfortable, with that being said the place really needs a good cleaning and updating. The pool was cloudy and I was really suprised by the state of this Marriott hotel. Its fine for an overnight if you just want some place to sleep but don't expect too muchGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Breakfast was really good, great variety. The hotel and the room were great. Only complaint is no refrigerator or microwave in the room. That's becoming pretty standard and we missed having it here.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

""Fair"field Inn in need of an update"
10/27/13 ChuckDickens Washington DC, District of Columbia
This hotel is easily accessible from I64 and in close proximity to a few restaurants. The overall appearance and the decor of this hotel are very outdated. The bathroom and bedroom furnishings are also outdated. We smelled cigarette smoke in our room despite the fact that the hotel is a no-smoking property. The electrical outlet in the bathroom was old and worn to the point that most of our electrical items would barely stay in the receptacle. There was only one other electrical outlet on a lamp which left us short on being able to charge 2 phones, and two computers at the same time. The lighting in the room was very poor - especially in the bathroom area. The price of the room was double the cost of what we have paid for other hotels of this category and very excessive for the quality of room we stayed in. This hotel is in dire need of an update. The staff were friendly but could use some more training on customer service. We realize this was not a 5 star hotel but it seemed to fall well short of the quality we have seen at other Fairfield Inn hotels where we have stayed.
"Thinnest walls in any hotel we have stayed in"
10/18/13 Kathy B
At first, it seemed like an adequate hotel. But about midnight our next-door neighbors came home, and I could clearly hear every word they were saying, and they were saying a lot. Staff were friendly, but it was definitely NOT worth $170 to listen to the neighbor's conversation and lose sleep we needed to travel home.
"A great place, to be treated rudely"
09/30/13 SuperSecretShopper Saint Louis, Missouri
I travel for business 250+ nights per year. I've stayed at all sorts of hotels both good and bad in that time. This is by far one of the worst. to be concise, the rooms are cleaned poorly, the staff while polite, is poorly trained, and if you mention anything in terms of a problem or anything that isn't right to Carol DeSoto the General Manager, then you become the problem. She has some integrity issues, actually a lot of integrity issues. You are better of staying at the Holiday Inn Express in Winchester, KY. Although it is 15 miles away, you know what you are getting and they are honest. It will be well worth paying the extra money.

Nice hotel. Clean. Friendly staff and very helpful. Comfortable beds and good breakfast. Great location, easy walk to Craker Barrel or the steak house. Highly recommend and would stay here again. Great deal for the price.
"Manager was so nice!"
08/07/13 MSGTStockton Kentucky
Recently I stayed at this hotel for several nights during the illness/death of a relative. The hotel manager and front desk was attentive to my needs and were extremely kind and nice to me. Their kindness under the circumstances helped me to relax and get some much needed sleep. The hotel itself was adequate, nothing special but beds were comfortable and the room was clean. I stayed on both the third floor and 1st floor and I have to say that I had the same experience as 767co, the third floor is much quieter and better if you need a good nights sleep. The hotel is also very convenient to the St. Joseph Mt. Sterling Hospital and several restaurants.
"Wonderful complimentary breakfast"
This hotel is located just off the interstate so it's very easy to reach. Everything was clean and pretty standard, nothing special but a good value, especially if you qualify for a military discount. The complimentary breakfast was better than most-- cinnamon and chocolate make-it-yourself waffles, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches as we'll as the usual stuff you'd find at a hotel breakfast buffet.
"Nice place right off the interstate"
06/28/13 DouglasYoung Conestoga, Pennsylvania
Mount Sterling is a small town with little to offer. Typical right off the interstate property, great for a good nights sleep and quick "get on the road" next day needs. The service and attention by staff are very good. Bedding was great and provided a good nights sleep. The Mexican restaurant nearby was very good. Douglas Young
"Location of room is important"
05/19/13 767co indiana
Good location off the highway. The first room we were given was on the third floor. Nice room and quiet. We had to move to another room though because the toilet was broken. We were given a room on the first floor. Not good. Right across from the ice machine and vending and by the indoor pool. The machines are very loud. The room was not as nice as the one on the third floor. More rundown. The window curtain was missing the inner curtain and the drapes wouldn't stay closed without a gap. So we were up when the sun came up. The young man at the desk was very good. It wasn't his fault the toilet broke in the first room. Things happen! My other issue is that if youre elite status,as we are, no matter what the hotel in Marriotts chain should accommodate you on your preferences.
"Wife says beds comfortable, staff very helpful"
03/02/13 Crack-O-Noon Oxford, Mississippi
My wife just spent a night at this hotel. She tends to avoid Fairfields because they are the cheapest chain in the Marriott family and sometimes the quality can be variable. Well, she liked this one. She described the bed as one of the most comfortable she's ever had in any hotel. And she said the young lady who was working the front desk saw her coming in with both a suitcase and computer bag she rushed out to help her with her bags. How often does that happen? So this hotel has risen to a place on my wife's list of "preferred" hotels.
"Very Nice Place"
12/25/12 Tom D Indianapolis
We stayed two nights right before Christmas while we were visiting Red River Gorge and Berea. It was very clean, very friendly, and during our stay at least, very quiet. We would definitely stay again if we're in the area.
