Considering how late we booked our stay, we got a decent deal and when we got to the hotel we got put in one of the nicer King Suites. The staff was very nice and helpful. The only thing that would've been nice is if the bathroom counters had more space.

Had a standard room city view. Room was VERY large and all of us had a wonderful time. Way above expectations. I would def stay there again. Great central location to all the freeways. Staff was great.

I loved the view of the bay-view rooms. Great little pool and great little stay. The parking is little expensive but there is a free parking on the street not too far away so that is nice to have an option.

We really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is not close to the beach, but the beach is easily accessible, as are both Pacific Coast Highway (the beach) and the freeways. More importantly, the setting is beautiful because the hotel is sighted at the end of the Newport back bay, and there is a walking trail just outside the hotel. The room was very nice, as […] was the pool and surrounding pool area. Hotel staff was young and attentive...very nice. We do have two complaints. One is the cost of parking ($21.00 per car). The second is that the room card key activation system for the parking area needs a tune-up...lighting on the system itself is very bad, and the system required multiple swipes to open the gates. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and are perfect for a romantic get away, a family vacation or business trip. Our suite overlooked Newport Bay. Whether you are using it as a home base for sight seeing or something more personal, the hotel is wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful and the location is ideal. We will be back.

All in all, a good, reasonable choice for the area. The price was attractive though the parking fee was substantial and unreasonable. We were able to find an alternative. The included breakfast was welcome and the wait staff exceptional along with the front desk. The place seemed a bit dated but it was clean and well kept.

Other than slow check out at the counter and excessive overnight parking fee (well it is O.C after all....), my stay was fantastic. Kind employees, great location, wonderful running/jogging track by the bay.

THE HOTEL IS VERY WELL LOCATED, CLOSE TO THE BEACHA AREA AND FASHION ISLAND. THE ONLY THING WE DID NOT LIKE WAS THE FACT THAT IN ORDER TO GO OUT TO THE POOL AND JACUZZI AREA YOU HAVE TO WALK ACROSS THE MAIN LOBBY AND THEN OUTSIDE. ACCESS IS NOT THE BEST. OTHER THAN THAT, IT IS EXCELLENT.

Bayview Way 's street parking policy is 7am-5pm 2 hours parking with exception of Sat and Sun. There were a lot of parking. You only need to move car at 9 am to avoid any ticket. Hotel parking is $21. The pool is nice and heated. It was warm to swim in Jan. Kid liked it a lot. Free fruit in the gym next to the pool. Breakfast was nice. Except for the fact that a hotel should have wi fi available at all times without extra cost, this hotel providies an excellent view of the bay, minutes from the ocean and quality stay. marriott always keeps on trying. That is good. Staff is exceptionally helpfull and attentive. The room is maintained in a quality manner.

Parking was an issue. Don't know where the gal at front desk thought all our luggage came from...but finally got our room key programmed to open parking gate. Great room layout with 2 TV's.. Very nice & clean.

The girl at the front desk was immediately rude to me when I got slightly frustrated at her inability to find my reservation for a good 10 minutes, then used my phone to find said reservation, thumbing through my email for a few minutes. Gross. She had attitude the entire time, which if you work in hospitality or food you know is a no no. Told her I […] needed parking and would pay the 21.00 dollar fee, she agreed, handed me the cards. Cards didn't work to get into the parking lot. Had to take a ticket. Went back, she says "I wasn't aware you needed parking." In a snappy tone. (She knew!) go up to the room finally, a tray of dirty used dishes literally sitting next to the door. Hesitantly entered after that, room size was decent, comfortable enough, but felt dirty. It seemed like it was rushed while cleaning. Breakfast menu was all filled out from whoever stayed last. Water spots on the mirror and sink area. Towels reeked of bleach. (I understand hotels bleach everything but this was just excessive man) called for a cab at the front desk for 9 pm. She called it immediately it came at 8:20. Wasn't ready and had to rush. Called the front desk later that night for help getting a return cab, the man who answered was completely rude to a member of my group, hanging up frustrated. Called back myself, man was rude again stating clearly annoyed "I already gave him the number, it's" he rushed through it with me asking twice to repeat. He sounded like he couldn't bother with me. Incredibly helpful staff...from front desk to the housekeeping. Everyone always was smiling and very helpful. From pre-printed directions back to the airport, to tips about the nearby shopping centers, the staff was always wonderful.

The staff, when asked, responded to our questions, but did not offer any assistance with booking a whale watching tour or directions other than giving us a map. There was no concierge nor bellman on duty to assist either. It was also much farther away from the beach than was indicated on the website.
