I just loved staying here. Wonderful location and staff at this most elegant yacht located a short walk from Gamla Stan. Front desk service...Toby in particular...so helpful and friendly. Cozy room, excellent shower, comfortable bed, amazing breakfast each morning, sauna...what more could one wish for! Perfect for the solo traveler.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Central Location"
We really loved this as a place to stay. But I think some rooms are really tiny so you my want to think about booking a larger room. They put us in the large room at the very prow of the boat which was wonderfulGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Stay on a boat!"
This was great! Of course the rooms are small because it's a boat, but what can you expect. The breakfast was very nice and the location is spectacular for site seeing. Highly recommend it, but I would recommend going during a slightly warmer time of year, late March was still pretty chilly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrific location and service"
The Mälardrottningen Hotel is in a lovely and convenient location. The view from our room was spectacular! The breakfast was generous and tasty, and the attendants at the desk were exceptionally helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome and Splendid Place to Stay"
Who does not like sleeping on a ship? Many reviews list the small rooms and cramped style which is exactly what you will get staying here. My wife and I could share a single bunk and be smooshed together or one could sleep on the top bunk and other below. The location is on the edge of 'old town' Stockholm and 5 minutes from the nearest metro station. […] The ship itself was in great condition and the room was plenty warm in -5C temperatures in February. The harbor and sunset views were spectacular. The only negative is that the shower temperature fluctuates from hot to tepid warm every 30 seconds in a cycle--tolerable but strange. Otherwise, breakfast was great and the value to stay here in an otherwise expensive city was phenomenal. Enjoy the quaint and lovely style of the boat! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
PERFECT LOCATION! Nice quiet area on the edge of Gamla Stan. AMAZING BREAKFAST EACH MORNING!!!! Sausage, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Crepes, juices, coffee, and also traditional European Breakfast (meat slices, breads, cheese, etc...) I loved eating breakfast by the windows looking out at the frozen bay and all the cool ships and buildings. I was however […] a tad disappointed I had a room facing a gangway... but, next time I'll be sure to ask for a better view room. I definitely felt I had a more unique stay in Stockholm here than in a traditional Sheraton or something, and really enjoyed the area it was in. I would definitely stay here again next time!!!! Yes, the rooms are small... but, you're staying in a piece of history, and you're really there to see Stockholm!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The former yacht was in a good location, 5 min walk to the subway station. Could benefit from upkeep. Room was tiny, but not unexpected. It is a good hotel for location and sleeping, not for passing the time. Breakfast was ok. I have had more extensive breakfasts in other hotels in Stockholm - but the view of the lake and Södermalm is excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convenient and Wonderful!"
I really enjoyed my stay here! I chose to slept on a boat for something different and was pleasantly surprised. It was a unique change of pace and was very comfortable. Although the rooms were slightly cramped it was very comfy still. The location is great as well since downtown Stockholm is walking distance just across a bridge to Drottningatan. The […] service was great too with free Wi-fi and luggage storage. Free water and sparkling water was nice too! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Reasonably priced hotel with a good location"
This hotel is on an old ship just a short walk from central Stockholm and Gamla Stan ... The main tourist areas. In addition it's less then 10 minutes walk to the main train station and 5 to the Tunnelbana. I had a single room which was fine... Plenty of space for 1. Unfortunatly I did not have much I a view from my room. An added benifit of the hotel […] is you can pop outside and see the beautiful Stockholm sunsets! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"A single room for a one night stay in Stockholm"
I arrived in the rain after 12 hours of flying and the walk from the train station couldn't have been easier; I got there and realized the comparison to The Jane Hotel in NY, except that this is not a reproduction. The single room was extremely clean and cozy, bathroom perfect. I loved the portholes, the bedding, it's everything you need for a good […] night's rest. As I was there alone, and just one night-- it was perfect. Nice people in the morning at the incredible (and beautiful) breakfast, good coffee. A nice refuge in a great location. If you don't like small spaces it might not be for you. But if cozy is okay, it had everything that was important for me. I found it elegant, comfortable and clean. I love this place. It is not a full-service 5-star hotel or anything, but the rooms are clean and cozy, the beds are comfortable, the breakfast is great, and the surroundings are lovely. the location is also perfect: quiet, and yet steps away from most things you want to do.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location. A 3 min walk from old town Stockholm. But if you're going to stay on the yacht, be prepared for the smallest room ever and the even smaller bathroom. Also, most rooms have bunk beds, something were didn't know we were getting when we booked. Otherwise, the ship it certainly unique! "Hot & Stuffy"
Clean room, lots of hot water. Room ventilation was nonexistent. Porthole was screwed shut. We suffocated in July. Staff cool to rude at the front desk, while my friend and I were routinely pleasant. Breakfast smorbord was a solid 3 star Scandinavian experience. Our room was probably among the tiniest on board. Bottom line: Despite a great location […] and good breakfast, I would not return. "Quiet yet so close to sights"
Nice to be in the old part of Stockholm yet away from the crowd of tourists. Easy to walk from train station (to/from airport) and all major sights. Room was small, and a touch dark but light and airy generous buffet breakfast. No amenities but a hairdryer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Unique accommodations in a bustling city"
Great place to stay, the rooms are small, but clean and conveniently located for sightseeing Stockholm - i'd stay there again given the opportunity.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Tiny but extraordinary"
Bunk-Room very small, don't use big hardcover suitcases. You are not aible to store them. The bull eye window is permanently fixed, though fresh air comes from the clima. The bath is very tiny, you can't slurp water from the water-tap without banging your forehead to the rack. The toilette is very noise. The breakfast buffet and the view over the harbour […] are excellent. The shiphotel is very central. In all, it met my expectations. "Great hotel, even with a tiny room!"
First night in after flying in from the States. I needed quiet, quiet, quiet and a great breakfast included. I got both. Very happy with my "onboard" experience on the Malardrottingen!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Novel place to stay in the best location"
Great for a novelty hotel. Actually had great facilities both in the room and elsewhere in the hotel. Beds were comfy for bunks. ensuite was well done for being a cabin loo! extensive breakfast provided, Good wifi, onsite restaurant was fab. Add this with superb location and you have a good value for money and fun place to stay in Stockholm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel and centrally located..."
Great little hotel located in the dead centre of Stockholm. Rooms were small but what do you expect, it's a boat! The rooms were clean and the bathroom was great and very modern. Something a little different that your bog standard hotel room and the price was good too. Overall would definitely recommend and wouldn't hesitate going back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay, great location..."
Great place to stay if you enjoy something a little bit unusual! Rooms were clean, although understandably small. The only criticism is that the rooms were very (too) warm at night. But that is a personal opinion. Great location with Old Town f few minutes walk away. We would definitely return.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Warm Reception"
This is a tricky review, because in no way do I want to give the impression that the hotel lacked anything. However, our stay coincided with a very cold snap in late January, after which things warmed up a lot. Each room's temperature is controlled by a central thermostat, which is altered on a Friday. If the outside temperature improves, it means the […] heat in some rooms becomes unbearable, particularly if the room's windows don't open (for valid security reasons). We went to bed in roughly 30 degree heat some nights, getting very little sleep and abandoning all covers. Some people might not mind this, but it disrupted our stay considerably. But in all other ways this hotel is a true 5* venue, with a beautiful interior and great location. Just try to get a room with openable windows, just in case. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quirky hotel, great location"
You are staying on a boat that was built in 1924. Don't expect a 4 star hotel. If you like that sort something different and quirky, as we do, it is great. A lot of the fittings seem original. It is clean and interesting. The cabins are small, which we knew, but perfectly formed. The shower room is the same and the shower is very good. Great for a two/three […] night stay where you will be spending most of your time out sightseeing. Fantastic location in a quiet section of Gamla Stan, very near the old town. Good breakfast and the Christmas dinner menu must be one of the best in Stockholm as it was full on both nights. Great find. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Cheap and perfect location but very small rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed at the hotel for one night - had one of the cheaper, lower deck rooms - tiny but clean with bunk beds. Only major problem is that the ceiling is quite low and both accessing and moving on the top bunk bed is difficult.Breakfast okay, not bad but I also had better breakfasts.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Excellent location in the middle of Stockholm"
If you've ever over-nighted on a ferry, you know how tight the accommodation will be. Apart from that, it's a value for money stay right there within walking distance of everything in the middle of Stockholm. With free breakfast included, what's not to like? We'd certainly use it again for a couple of nights. The lack of space would be too much to stay […] for a week or more, though. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

A fantastic novelty hotel with a friendly staff and brilliant history. The restaurant upstairs was beautifully decorated with a brilliant menu and 20% discount. "Really well located, but .."
The hotel was good value, but compromised by the dated design and really hot and stuffy room. The bar isn't really a bar as it's set up as a restaurant, so atmosphere was a touch hard to come by. "Novel, cosy and convenient"
The location is great - you can walk to the Old Town or to the other parts of the city and Gamla Stan metro station is only a short walk away. The hotel is tucked away so no disturbing noise from bars or traffic. The room was quite spacious and clean and breakfast included was a bonus - there is plenty of choice and it saves you some money (Sweden is […] not cheap). It gets a bit choppy if the wind picks up so not great for people suffering from sea sickness but then you would not stay on a yacht in the first place ;) I loved it and I would definitely stay again. "Quirky hotel in Stockholm's old town"
The Mälardrottningen hotel is a converted ship so it has character by the barrow load! It was owned at one time by Barbara Hutton, the Woolworth millionaire, and is now moored at a small island on the west side of Gamla Stan in Stockholm old town. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful and their English was top rate. My room was small (it was […] a converted cabin) but comfortable. Many of the ships original features have been retained, and it was good to stay somewhere so unlike many other standard hotels. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
