Friendly staff and nice lobby. Location is fantastic. Rooms need some serious updating -- old, old, old!!! If you are in just for the night or quick weekend and don't need to be in your room much, it's well worth the low cost - nothing fancy.

We stayed for one night (Saturday). The location was just a block off the waterfront and the ferry terminal. If you are comfortable walking, most things are close and it is somewhat accessible via public transportation. The hotel itself was old and needs a face lift. The hot tub was permanently shut down, breakfast was only available at an adjacent […] hotel, and the lobby bar was not open at all during the weekend we were there. As far as a place to sleep, the beds were comfortable, the room was clean, and the necessities were provided. Note: The first floor is only accessible by two sets of 5 stairs. The Hotel is clean and has a very friendly staff, but the hotel and the rooms are dated. I understand trying to keep an older feeling decore but that doesn't mean old. Rooms are In need of a face lift.

I always enjoy staying in the James Bay area. It's a bit of a walk to get to Chinatown and that end of town but I enjoy walking thru the streets in James Bay. The area has a lot going on for a small neighborhood. Easy walk to Fisherman's Warf, the BC Museum, Parliament and the ferries. Always nice to have a local grocery store too! If you're looking for great value on a clean, classy hotel on the inner harbor, look no further. My wife and I were looking for a good value in the inner harbor for a 1 night getaway to Victoria from Port Angeles. The Huntingdon is a couple hundred feet from the Black Ball ferry terminal so it is an excellent choice for walk on ferry travelers. Luckily […] it was nearly half the price of nearby hotels. The baseboards needed paint and the wallpaper is very out dated. My boys had the same bedspreads from the '80s. The pillows were flat. Great location just to bad they don't take care of the rooms better. The bathroom was new and clean. The lobby is very inviting.

This is an idea hotel if you want to leave your car behind. The port is close by with easy walk and bus stop (30/31) is just 4 short blocks away which you can take (with transfer to 75) to visit beautiful Butchart Garden.

Staff is friendly, rooms could use update in decor and furniture. Location is good in relation to city attractions, does not have view but neighborhood is pleasant. Did not care for bathrooms, do not like making coffee in bathroom. Would be nice to have microwave. Good value for the price.

Location Location Location. This is a very nice hotel with a wonderful location by the inner harbor.The room was comfortable but dated. The front desk had issues. We had booked a second room asking for both rooms to be on the same floor. Rooms had to be juggled to meet this request. The room keys kept loosing their program and had to be recoded (3 times). […] Not a major problem, but when you have to wait behind several people checking in, it can be more than a little annoying. Our companion was to check out a day earlier than us, and despite careful instructions as to which room was to be vacated, the problems started as soon as we returned in the evening. First the key wouldn't work. Once in the room we found that housekeeping hadn't cleaned the room. Management said they were confused as to which room had been vacated.(1 empty and 1 with clothes a hint?) Housekeeping did a quick cleaning (made the beds, changed the towels but left dirty cups and glasses). Without warning, the door opened and the manager entered the room to check that it had been made up. Soon after this, the door again opened and two people entered having been given our room code. The front desk apologized and said that the keys had been recoded. I noted the lack of security and was given breakfast for 2 to compensate. The front desk was friendly, helpful, but the problems showed how confused the operation was. The breakfast was very good, but the set breakfasts exceeded the the voucher that I had been given. it was a rare day in the pacific northwest 90 degrees. There was no air-conditioning in any of the rooms. We were given a fan and an open window. If you look at their map it looks like they are on the water. They are not, they are across the street and most of the property is not even on the waterfront street side. It is somewhat misleading.
