Weekend getaway. Corner room in main building had excellent harbor view. Decent breakfast was included. Pet friendly.
"nice get away stay"Reviewed by a Hotels.com guest on Feb 17, 2013
overall it was a very pleasant stay- staff was great and helpful. Location was easy to find and convieniant to several food locations
"Wonderful historic building...but"
We love the location of the hotel for the price...but it is very dated and no AC, just a fan. Bathroom had been up dated, but not the main room. Some of the ceiling covering was gone. Otherwise it was clean.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good value"
We, family of three stayed two nights at this hotel. It is old and very outdated but it is fine for us just to sleep. Location is great. For the rate, it has a good value over all. It is working distance to Royal Museum and other sightseeing spots. For the rate, it has a good value.Genuine Expedia guest review
The only issue that I experienced was the steps that I had to deal with and heavy luggage on the first floor. Wish that there was a way of pulling the luggage to our room without having to go up the stairs to room 104. The location was perfect for our stay which allowed us to do plenty of walking but was close enough to the areas that we wanted to visit, […] The Inner Harbor. "I would definitely stay again!"
This hotel was great. It was a good price, great location, and great staff. The rooms were a little dated, but the hotel it self was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great place to stay."
We love this little hotel. This is our third stay here and we have never been disappointed. It is a great hotel for the price. The hotel is clean and well-kept. The location is within walking distance of many great attractions and areas of Victoria. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the room was very comfortable with the exception of the bed. It […] was extremely hard. Other than that, we really enjoyed our stay and will return again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Comfortable and bit oldfashion feel"
Very tall ceiling with fan. Upstairs loft sleeping area. Oldfashioned 70's-80's feel. Clean all around for how old everything was. Kitchenette doesn't look very appealing. Don't think it is needed, or could use a bit of maintanence. Bathroom has good countertop space. It was comfortable and roomy. Max I would pay to stay here wouldn't exceed 150.00 […] if I had a choice. And that is only because of how big the room is. Not many luxuries like LCD tv, or complementary breakfast or attraction discounts. Or at least the front desk didn't put out any effort to let me know other than a big placesetting of the downtown area I can tear out. Don't know if it was because I purchased through Expedia at a discount or something. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Convenient hotel, great service. We had a large room with 2 queen beds for two couples. They say they are improving it from the past and for CAA/AAA with new ownership. We did not sample the food there. We would repeat, as it is close to the Victoria Clipper from Seattle and close to the downtown activities.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not as good as looks on the pictures"
Hotel has an excellent location. But this is only one good reason for staying here. Everything else for me was very bad. Never book a room on 1st floor!!! This floor dosen't have elevator entrance. You will be taking all your stuff from hotel lobby passing 2 (TWO!) staircases.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient to the ferry terminal and downtown"
The room was okay, nothing special. I was a bit surprised to find that there was no A.C. in the room, but the weather was quite mild so we just opened a window instead.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not As Described In Hotels.com Ad"
Love Victoria and will go back. Will do better research on the hotel and its amentities and will NEVER take Hotels.com website as accurate. The price on Hotels.com is GREAT! However, this hotel was stated as having AC in the rooms. They do, IF you are in a suite on the 3rd floor! But that's NOT what hotels.com stated. Therefore do your research. Great […] location to everything! Staff was super sweet and helpful. Rooms clean but beds were hard as a board. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Easy access to ferry."
The desk help was great. They were very friendly and helpful. I would return because of the convenient location to walk to the ferry and price. We also enjoyed a wonderful meal at the Gatsby. The room didn't smell fresh, although it looked very clean. There was a portable stand up fan in the room that helped.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Location in downtown Victoria, BC"
Location is very good and easy to walk to downtown Victoria, BC. But hotel is old and room cleanliness is not perfect. carpet is very old and water sound is very from other rooms. Very quiet neighborhood.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Value for a low budget. Great location."
We basically only slept there. It was fine. The room and beds in the online pics, looked alot nicer than what ours was. The room came with a slight Harbour view, which was nice.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No air conditioning and bad food"
Although this hotel is beautiful on the outside and the people are warm, friendly, and welcoming, this was the worst hotel stay we've ever experience because of the lack of air conditioning. There are 3 floors in this hotel. The lobby/1st floor and the 2nd floor are not air conditioned. They said the 3rd floor was air conditioned. We stayed on the 2nd […] floor and it was stiflingly hot. I became so sick, I spent one day in the hotel (which probably made things worse-looking back on it). One guest left after one night because while being on the 3rd floor, the air conditioning didn't work. If you need airconditioning on a hot summer night, this is not the hotel for you. Additionally, the breakfast we had was a disappointment. Not only did it not taste very good, it took too long to arrive. We waited 1 1/2 hours for a bland, greasy breakfast that left us with ill results! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Reasonable prices for a nice place."
We enjoyed our stay at the Huntingdon with one exception. The mattresses on the beds were in need of replacement. They were not comfortable and I work up with a backache.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Location, but that's about it!"
The hotel location is wonderful, but that's about it. The hotel needs some updating and the cleanliness was not there.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very unpleasant smell in the room. No AC, had to use fan to circulate air. Fan was very dirty. Bed was uncomfortable, I will not recommend staying more than one night. Location of hotel was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A Day in Victoria, BC, Close to the Ferry Boat Por"
The hotel property is beautiful, part of a large mansion but still separate. The staff were very helpful and informative to those of us pretty ignorant of the ways and lives of our friendly neighbors to our north. Easy walking distance from the port we ferried over on and very close to dining and shopping, which was the whole reason for our trip there […] for my brother's birthday. I only have a couple of knocks on the hotel: the hot tub listed in the guest services/amenities booklet was inoperable and much in need after all the walking we undertook in our less than 24 hours in Canada. To the hotel's defense though, the sign at the hot tub did say they were planning on doing away with it permanently and it would not be available again. I find this odd since we were there on July 2, 2012, and a jacket was needed to be comfortable - I would think hot tubs would be a huge plus for any property. The other knock is the furniture. The beds were sunken and worn and uncomfortable as were the chairs in our room. The television was a much-outdated CRT instead of the LCD or LED flat panels most of the world has available in their guest rooms now, but it worked as well as could be expected. It may be difficult for the property to refurbish/update rooms with the pleasant rate they offered through hotels.com so I won't let these minor inconveniences cloud my rating of such a beautiful property. We would definitely book again at The Huntingdon. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"good location, musty room"
This was a great location but not a great room. It was musty and old. It did not feel freshly cleaned. If you plan on making it a quick trip, then its great for the price and location.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Old, but nice and great location!"
Very affordable and great location right on the inner harbor. Walking distance from the ferries and basically everything else in town. You are staying in an old hotel, so no air conditioning on the lower floors. Will cost more for a room on the upper levels if that's important to you.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for walking."
The price was good. The beds were not so great. We stayed in 3 rooms and one out of the three had comfortable beds. Nice older hotel. Really good location for walking to shops, restaurants and seeing the waterfront sites. I always sleep with earplugs but it seemed to be in a quiet spot.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"awesome location stylish hotel reasonable price"
love this hotel, the best part the convenient location, walk distance to downtown Victoria, all the attractions like the Parliament building, Empress hotel, BC museum all within 5 min walking distant. hotel is clean, decent, old British style, stylish room, and price is very reasonable. only thing is shower water sometimes turn colder, other than that […] it's perfect, will definitely go back when I visit Victoria again. "A good inexpensive choice on the Inner Harbour."
This is an inexpensive choice in a neighborhood of more expensive hotels within 2 blocks of the Clipper ferry dock. It is older, but generally in good shape. The rooms are large, with kitchen, sitting area and a small dining table and chairs. The kitchen and bath were clean but not of high quality. There was a refrigerator and microwave. No minibar […] or safe in the room. TV reception was good, both U.S. (mostly Seattle) and Canadian channels, but no movies for rent. It was nice to have free Wi-Fi, but I was in a room at the end of the building and the signal was too weak to easily use, and sometimes too weak to connect at all. There is parking under the hotel for $10, but a free open lot as well, which does fill up. I parked on the street, in supposedly 1-hour spaces, for free for two days. The hotel is about a half mile walk from the main Inner Harbour waterfront in front of the Empress Hotel. The restaurant is fine for breakfast, but there are much better choices in the neighborhood for dinner. The staff leaves you alone, but are polite and pretty helpful when asked. "Convenient location, friendly staff, old structure"
Huntingdon Hotel and Suites is conveniently located in downtown Victoria. It is within a short walking distance from Black ball ferry terminal, parliament building and the inner harbor. Hotel building itself is part of a three building complex that includes Gatsby mansion. Hotel has two underground parking structures and one parking lot, that required […] us to pay CAD $ 9 per night. We were rather surprised that parking was not free, but decided to pay anyway because it was our first trip to Canada. Hotel building has an old victorian charm and the artwork boasts pictures of English countryside hunting trips with hounds and horses. We were promptly checked-in by their friendly front desk staff. The light in the corridor is low and one can notice that the facility requires an upgrade from carpet, paint to just everything. Our room had all basic amenities but the maintenance is not top notch. I noticed that the bed was just a box-spring mattress hosted on a steel frame and a wooden headboard permanently attached to the wall. On multiple occasions we had trouble with our key cards not working on the room door, elevator entry and garage entry. The front desk guy offered us a new room and also gave a coupon for a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant below which btw offers an awesome french toasts. Overall they have a very pleasant staff but management needs to pay attention to the building structure. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Fantastic deal!"
I was so surprised to book this hotel, right on the Inner Harbour, for my recent stay in Victoria to attend a wedding. The location was right beside the very high end hotels and yet at a really affordabel price. The service was excellent and the hotel was so quiet that I slept in on Sunday with no disturbance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good locale - some rooms good, some bad"
Be careful here - great location - some rooms renovated and nice enough, but some not. General hotel maintenance not great, but great locale and close to harbour. Lack balconies which are in most other hotels nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Rooms look like motel rooms."
Pictures are deceiving. I was expecting a nice hotel which is good enough for the price but when I got there what I found is an old hotel with rooms which look like motel rooms. I am dissappointed. I wonder how it got high ratings which, in my opinion, it doesn't deserve at all. The only good thing about the place is that it has good location which […] is close to downtown. "Location: could walk to most locations"
Everything basically good but prices, especially for food, are bordering on outrageous. True throughout B.C. but Victoria seemed even worse than most. Example: two appetizers and one glass of wine was nearly $50. It will keep me from returning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walking distance to town and wharf"
This hotel is so conviently located directly across the street from the Victoria Clipper terminal. There is a walking trail close by that will take you to the wharf and then all the way to the center of town (not a far walk).
