Hotel am Mirabellplatz - Salzburg

You really couldn't ask for a better location. Both sides of the Salzach were within walking distance. All the major attractions were within a 5 minute walk. The number 2 bus from the train station stops directly in front of the hotel. Beds were comfortable showers were good. And since it is not in inner Stadt, it is more reasonablly priced.

Great location, steps away from the heart of Salzburg. Large clean rooms. First class pastry shops around the corner (way cheaper than hotel breakfast). Noisy street on the front side of hotel, tour and city buses, try to get a room on the back side of the hotel.

The hotel is in a historic former palace compound but has all the modern conveniences... One problem finding the hotel though... Nowhere on the exterior signs do you see the word Austrotel... It just says Hotel am Salzburg or something to that effect... But overall it was a very good stay and breakfast was excellent...

This hotel was in the center of town. Close to all the castles with a veiw of Neushwanstein. If I was to go back, I would come to the same hotel. They had a lovely beer garden and the staff was very friendly.

A good value with an easy walk to sights. Spacious and comfortable rooms. The staff was friendly and helpful. The lobby was under renovation during our stay requiring entrance from the rear. Breakfast was not included in our rate, however there is a small cafe next to the hotel with good pastries.

Stayed 2 nights in March 2012 and was very happy with the hotel. Located across the street from Mirabell Gardens, and in easy walking distance of the Old Town. Also, an easy 10-15 minute walk from the main train station (hauptbahnhof). The rooms were comfortable and clean - nothing fancy, but a good value for the price.

Hotel kept in great condition and the staff spoke English and were very friendly. There was noise from the busy street, as other comments have stated, but only in the morning. Location just a little too far to walk from the train station with luggage, although it is not too long a walk to get into the main touristy part of Salzburg.

We had 1 day in Salzburg. The hotel was centrally located and the staff was nice. No airconditioning and our room was on the front corner of the busiest street so lots of noise. Bathroom was clean. Room was sparce for a 4 star hotel in my opinion.

Great place to stay for a couple of nights, we were lucky to have a very generously sized room, very clean with small but neat bathroom. Fantastic location- just down the street from Mirabell Gardens. Foyer/ Reception area very nice to meet with our fellow travellers with complimentary tea and coffee and refreshments. Fantastic breakfast included! Only […] complaint would be the wireless internet- it was slow and very annoying to use. A new log on code and password was required for each device for every day of your stay which meant waking up and going to get new codes from reception every morning.
