The University of Miami borders South Miami, an established suburb with clusters of 1920s Mediterranean-style homes. The area is also of significant archeological note. The Deering Estate at Cutler has evidence of human activity from 10,000 years ago, and it has a 17th-century Native American burial mound. Nearby, more than 400 primates roam free in the Monkey Jungle, a popular area attraction.

The Marriott Dadeland was an excellent choice for my short stay. The value received certainly exceeded my expectations. Room service was quicker than I have ever received at another hotel. The only issue I had was that the sheets were not changed overnight. Overall an excellent choice that I will certainly recommend to others.

Room service was awesome. The hotel decor was very upscale. The staff was pleaseant and very helpful. Even valet parking was prompt. The hotel exceeded my expectations, I thought it would be more run down because it was located in the Miami Dade area, not so. Even has a Publix next door for convenience.

The room was nice, comfortable, and in impeccable condition. The location was perfect for my business needs. The hotel could, however, include some amenities such as complimentary Internet access. If you drive, you already get hit with a valet parking fee, so charging for Internet access felt like I was getting nickel-and-dimed.

This hotel was a very classy hotel...right from the entrance into the beautiful lobby, to the restaurant, and the rooms. It was impecably clean and the service was excellent. We showed up in our beach clothes after boating all day and the valets and all the servers were so nice to us, not snooty. It's not too close to the beach but it has a mall and restaurants within walking distance.

I booked this hotel for one night as a bit of a treat, normally staying in slightly lower starred hotels. Consequently my expectations were high... The room smelt moldy, the plug in the sink was stuck shut and had to be fixed, I was only given one large towel (I was only one person, but even so!), neither of the hotel restaurants appeared to be open even though it was 8pm on a Wednesday night, room service was quick but the food was terrible (rubbery calamari and a soup I actually didn't even take the wrap off). Valet parking was efficient and location is good, but if you don't want to drive in the evening there's not much on the doorstep - which would be ok if the restaurant was open!

Typical Marriott hotel, good condition, clean with a friendly staff and nice fitness room. However, had I known there was a Marriott courtyard across the street, I would have stayed there because 1) less expensive and 2) in room coffee and other conveniences for business travelers.

Great hotel - super comfortable beds and wonderful staff. Only complaint was that we arrived later in the evening and the internet was not working so we had to switch rooms which was inconvenient since we needed access for work.
