"My room service order was NOT CORRECT!"
My name is Ms. Stephanie Marshall. I am Mr. Timothy Houff fiance. We left the TROPICANA HOTEL due to the uncleanliness of the room and the television being inoperable. But with what I had to deal with at the CHELSEA, I wonder would it have been to my advantage to just stay!!! The snacks that were provided in the room were expired. The expiration date […] on the food was OVER A YEAR OLD!! I brought this to their attention but nothing was said. No apology or anything! The room service that I ordered for breakfast, celebrating Timothy's birthday,(07-09)......The eggs were NOT done, when I made and wrote specific instructions as to how I wanted them prepared. I asked for extra condiments, again being VERY specific, that order was not correct either and we had to wait...yet again. I spoke with the front desk and informed them that my mom had passed away and I inquired as to whether I could get a late check-out. Due to me not feeling well and was not up to driving. I was told that I could in fact have a late check-out for 1300hrs- 1:00pm. I was also told that if I needed more time that I could call back to the front desk to see if that would be something that was available. However, during the time in which I was granted the LATE CHECK-OUT the housekeeping staff along with an (older Caucasian gentleman) continued to disturb me and repeatedly, they knocked on my door. After which time I told them that I in fact had a late check-out. Then, I telephoned the front desk again and requested additional time, for I still was not yet ready mentally or emotionally to make the trip back to Wash. D.C. I was then told that I could not get any additional time. But if I wanted to stay to at least 3:00pm, 1500hrs, then I would have to pay half the rate for that day. I told the front desk clerk that I was not able to pay that and I then asked her if I could just sit in the lobby with my belongings until such time that I felt I was in a well enough condition to drive home. She stated that I co Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Me and my girls loved it!"
My 2 best friends and I loved our stay here. This hotel is adorable! The staff was spectacular! Clean and very comfortable rooms! I would definitely stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was the worst!!! The only thing nice is the pool. My bed sheet had a big nasty stain on it the sheets were smelly and the bathroom towel was dirty.Genuine Expedia guest review

Went on the spur of the moment checked in on a Friday night...cost reasonable. ..wanted to stay another night and the price was 4 times the amount. ..we are in atlantic city nj...not south beach...i thought the price was ludicrousGenuine Expedia guest review
"Motel Quality Rooms with a 5 Star Lobby"
There was a great disconnect between the quality of the lobby and the adjoining Annex. It was some sort of motel in the past. The walls, halls, fixtures, and bathrooms are very dated. There was paint peeling from door jams. The bathroom was clean however the tiles were gold and the bathtub was gold... very late 1960s/ early 1970s. Our windows were like […] in a bathroom in a public high school - too high to see out of and only there to let in the light. On the plus side the carpet was new, the bed was ok, the side tables were modern, and the lamps were cool. For the most part the room was clean however one of the towels had make up stains on it. I guess because of the location this is a good deal but I should have stayed at the Tropicana for just a nominal amount more per night, and the location is exactly the same. "Very nice hotel with two pools"
The Annex at The Chelsea is a very nice boutique hotel - it is right on the boardwalk and close to other hotels. It is right next door to the Tropicana. The best part is two pools - one on the first floor and another one on the rooftop. The hotel room at The Annex was comfortable but not spectacular. The bed was very comfortable but the bathroom was […] small and basic. Overall, I would recommend this hotel. The price was good and it included pool access and close to the boardwalk. The hotel also has a restaurant on site which had really great happy hour specials. You can sit by the pool and enjoy your cocktails. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We checked in and went straight to our room. They had us staying on the annex side. The hallways smelled stale and damp. the carpet in the hallways need to be replaced and the walls are peeling in the room and the hallways. It reminded me of the Norman Bates movie. There was a hole in our wall so we couldn't tell if it was a bullet hole or if we were […] being taped. I was totally grossed out. The bathrooms are so 1960, and the floors should be redone in the bathrooms. I went to the desk to ask to be switched to the other side of the hotel, the desk assistant ignored me at first. Then when I politely asked to be moved, he said no we are completely booked and can't move anyone.. Then he said I'll help the next person. We checked out the next day happily. I will never ever stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Just not sure why The Chelsea puts their name on this dump! The Chelsea is nice and I expected something similar, but the Annex is dingy and dated. Spend the extra few dollars and stay at the Chelsea!Genuine Expedia guest review
Our trip was fantastic - when we arrived, our room was immediately upgraded to a King Size, we checked in early, and we were given a free cocktail at the pool! The staff was friendly and attentive towards us, and we are looking forward to our next visit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was very nice and comfort, good service too. I would stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

The room was disgusting....and I would never book there again... The pictures on the site definitely do it justice. I Felt nervous walking down the hallway!Genuine Expedia guest review
If your looking for a ok room to spend a night or two, here's the place... But not for when u want to have a nice comfortable hotel. AC was like a fan, lights went out twice.. Rooms look old... But I didn't complain.. I should've learned my lesson when I read the prior reviews.Genuine Expedia guest review
The price was great but the room is nothing like the pictures. The furniture is run down and the room smelled mustyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Dont be fooled..."
Dont be fooled, this is NOT the Chelsea. The Annex is nothing like the Chelsea. For the price I paid, I could have had a similar room for about a third of the price. The room was musty, and everything about it was old and outdated. Its more in line with an econo-lodge. Never again!Genuine Expedia guest review
My stay was GREAT!! I loved it although we only stayed for one night the comfort of the room, the hotel itself was very clean and the beds were extremely comfortable! The staff was very polite and respectful. I would definitely be staying at the Chelsea again I would highly recommend it to anyone!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money at all"
The heat didn't work! Website said the room comes with a mini fridge and it didn't! The gym should be open later! Teplizskys should be open later! Took awhile to get the car from valet and there was only one person ahead of us!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice hotel- poor customer service"
It was a holiday weekend and the hotel seemed understaffed and unprepared. The pool required a driver's license be left w/ staff for guests to receive a towel. The front desk staff were not friendly nor were they customer service oriented. The answered phone calls while a guest was standing right in front of them without looking up or saying "I'll be […] right with you" and they all seemed miserable. No smile or "welcome". It was as if they were being annoyed- don't go into service industry if you can't deal with the public. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"The worst hotel I ever stayed at"
I paid close to $500 for two nights and it was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I got to my room and everything looked ok at first. The bathroom was awful. I went to take a shower, and the water was brown at first. The rooms were very small and nothing like they were pictured online. I did not know that the annex was not a part of the actual hotel. […] The annex is the lower class section of the hotel. It felt like a cheap motel. I should have taken my money and went to an actual cheap hotel. The results would have probablly been the same at a much lower rate. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Close to a lot of restaurants / casinos"
There is a big difference between the Chelsea hotel and the Chelsea annex hotel , if you don't care about what the bath room looks like stay at the annex , if you are feeling fancy and want to spend the extra loot , stay at the Chelsea , eating at their restraunt on the fifth floor was great , all and all I will defiantly be going back.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was nice although trays in the hall for hours and the rowdy guests combined with the call girls walking up and down the strip left a bad impression in my mindGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Avoid the Annex Part of the Hotel"
If you are staying for more than one night you are better off paying a little more and staying at the main part of The Chelsea instead of the Annex. The elevators shaking every time we were in them, beds that were lower than the night table, and overall a very old room were the main things that upset me. For $300 on a Saturday Night, I would expect […] some type of soap and shampoo bottles in the showers and more than 2 towels, since we had three people in the room. For just one night it was not to bad because we were not really in the room that much, but overall for any stay longer, pay the extra to avoid this part of the hotel. I'm not one to complain, but...the hotel was awful. The hallways were tight and very creepy looking. When we got in the room, the furniture was broken. I got to the hotel and the front desk told me that my credit card didn't go through and that they had called me the day before to tell me that they didn't have the room I booked and were giving me a different room. I received no such call and the room type that they gave me for my friends and I was just wildly inappropriate for 5 grown adults. They […] gave me a cot at no charge but when they brought it in- it had stains on the sheets from a previous victim I presume. Also, the view was not of a wonderful ocean but a pit stained eye sore. It was overpriced for the size of the room and to add to this - I was charged instantly upon check in and charged an additional $125 fee for a deposit, which was refunded at checkout. Upon checkout, they took a while to process the fee back to me which took 30 min for a 10 min process at the very least. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Nice room very peaceful. Fresh sheets and towels and close to the casino...Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel public areas where nice. I stayed in room 329, it was clean but is badly need of a complete renovation. You get what you pay for. The front desk staff where very nice and the hotel is located great.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel definitely felt really shady at first- but it seems like it's meant to be that way. There were flashing red lights in the hallway (intentional) and neon signs on each floor- it Seems like they know they're on the outskirts of town and they just ran with it in the design. The room was clean, furniture was a little beat up, bed was clean and […] comfortable. If you're expecting brand new AC luxury- go somewhere else, but if you're looking for somewhere less expensive that capitalizes on the less-glamorous side of AC, go for it. I'd stay there again to save a couple bucks. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The site shows the rooms from the Chelsea hotel but doesn’t tell you that the annex is a completely different experience. The annex is motel quality. Furniture and carpeting outdated. The shower had pealing wallpaper and shower tiles were falling off. No matter how clean the bathroom was the appearance was too disheveled for me to be able to feel like […] I was in a sanitary environment. The hotel service was unprofessional. When I arrived the staff said they had no reservation for me. If I didn’t have my confirmation number on me I would have been in a bad situation. The hallways smelled and the elevator wasn’t working. My friends and I had to go down 4 flights of stairs in heels. The carpet in the room had gum stuck on it and I didn’t feel comfortable being bare foot in there. The bedding was clean but that was about it. The beds were standard hotels beds. The location wasn’t bad. It wasn’t far from the casinos. The cabs max out at 13 bucks so as long as you’re in AC it doesn’t really matter. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Could do better..."
When we checked into the hotel, we found out that there would be a large hold on my credit card until we checked out of the hotel. I wish we would have known that before hand because that cut into our spending money. Than after we finish check we are told that elevators to our room are to the left. I thought she was mistaken but she wasn't. To my surprise […] the annex is actually not the same as the actual Chelsea. You walk from this bright pretty hotel basically to a connected dark motel. The ambiance is totally different. The elevators are dark and you get the feel that you are in a cheap motel. The room is okay. Electricity in all sockets except for one actually did not work. The bathtub water ran lukewarm and had little pressure. The balcony which faced a garage, was a big puddle of water. It had rained the night before and the balcony looked like a swimming pool. We could not even step foot on it the entire weekend from one night of rain. To be honest it was the cheapest hotel we could find, so we should have known that it would not live up to the standards of a 4 or 5 star hotel. The location was good. We could walk to the Casinos and it was right at the boardwalk. The only staff that we interacted with was the parking attendants which were nice. They don't really have an efficient method of getting people their cars back so it can take about 15 minutes to get your car. There was also a per day parking fee for guests. "The Annex is the worst"
If you are planning on going to the annex at Chelsea, don't!! The rooms are dirty, smelly, and not even updated. The bathroom was all green tiles except for two blue ones that were barely holding up the towel rack. The sink was not caulked in, and the particle board countertop was cracking. We got the room cleaned, but we're given two ripped towels […] by the maids. Avoid at all costs The only parking is forced valet by two overweight men who take forever to get your car.. "Wouldn't stay again"
The room smelled like mold when I got in; we had to air it out... with 20 degree air. The bathroom was so old/dirty and the water smelled odd enough that none of us showered or even brushed our teeth in the room; we had to wait for our friends to check into their room at the Tropicana before we could leave here and make the most of our trip at this […] point. We were supplied a very old iron, which worked, but the ironing board was disgusting and we opted to "rig up" our own ironing board out of what we could. Finally, when I pulled up to valet, the young valet advised me to take EVERYTHING out of my car, just in case, as if theft is a common occurrence in their garage; it made me feel uneasy leaving my brand new car there. "Hotel did not meet expectations!"
The service was extremely slow and when we first entered our bathroom one of the rags had a weird brown spot on it.Genuine Expedia guest review
Please take this hotel off of your site. The accomodations are disgusting. The hotel looks like something out of the 1970's. The advertising on the website is extremely misleading. When we checked in, we had to valet our car which was no problem, but when we got back in our car we noticed the 60 dollars we had in the console had been stolen, we took […] it to the manager and they kept telling us they had to review a security tape and then get back to us, no one ever did. The room is nasty and needs a major update. The soapdish was broken, there was mold in the bath tub and the carpet was badly stained. I work at a Hyatt and i would never treat my guests the way i was treated. This was my first time booking thru expedia and this will be my last if this is the kind of place you send people too. "Good bang for your buck"
Not the greatest but still a doable hotel experience. Only thing that bothered was the hallways in particular the main walk from reception to the elevators, there is an annoying center piece you have to walk around, also the ice machine was on the 2ns floor only! Bathroom was very old, clean but old. But for an overnight stay, its ok.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A warm welcoming..."
Besides the staff (which were outstanding at performing their job), my room was small, un-homely, and had a strange scent. Unlike most hotels in Atlantic City, this hotel was not completely renovated, just repainted; which means that it feels like your in a 70's building block. :(Genuine Expedia guest review
"It was ok... not what I expected"
The hotel was quiet and peaceful... it was very different than I expected, it was very small and intimate... It kind of felt like I was in another state, not in AC.Genuine Expedia guest review
The Chelsea is a nice hotel, but the Annex leaves a lot to be desired. Our particular room was okay. The bed was the best part. The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. When I turned the water on to take a shower, it came out brownish red, so I decided against that (what is this, Sochi?!). The toilet paper holder was in a weird and inconvenient place […] (under the sink?!). Our balcony door did not lock. Not a huge problem since we were on the 4th floor, but still a little sketchy. The light in hall separating the front of the room to the bed area was just an exposed light bulb, it was missing some sort of cover. There were no hangers in the closet. Room service is only open until 10pm. They wanted to charge us $10 for a refrigerator. Our remote control didn't work on our TV (but a technician did come and deliver us a working one). THERE ARE NO SODA MACHINES IN THE ENTIRE HOTEL. I was a little offput when the concierge asked me which hotel room I was staying in before he would answer my question about whether or not there are any soda machines in the hotel. Other than all those complaints, the bed was cool and the lobby of the hotel is very nice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's not as bad as the reviews say."
This hotel serves it's purpose. I took my girlfriend to atlantic city for the first time. We barely spent any time in the room. The room however was clean & nicely put together. The bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. The room had a balcony which was great for fresh air. It didn't particularly face any view but you can see the beach to the […] left. All in all for the price it can't be beat. The annex part of the hotel is an older part yet it is still clean and accommodating. Also for the same price you can use all of the hotel ammenities like the hottub spa and pool. It's not picture perfect but it's worth the picture still. 3.5 out of 5.
