"Friendly, convenient, comfortable beds"
Not brand new, so some areas showed signs of age (doors and pool area). However, newer and nicer than some other hotels on the strip. Not fancy, but staff was very nice and rooms very clean and comfortable. Small but sufficient breakfast in small sitting area - sit outside to take in the view. Quiet but still very close to main area of Maggie Valley. Sidewalks allow walking to surround areas. Accommodating of tourist on motorcycles.

"Maggie Valley."
Was going to a concert in Cherokee but the closest room was in Maggie Valley. You must drive over the mountain to get to Cherokee. If you must get a room not in Cherokee, this is the best place to stay. Good people, easy parking, but the closet grocery store was a long way. Family Dollar was the closet place with any food items and snacks. If you need a ride back from Cherokee from the Casino, consider Cherokee Taxi. They are the only service in the area and have only been there a year. On another note, this was the end of March. On the evening coming back from Cherokee, we experienced all seasons going over the mountain. Snow storm going up the mountain, rain once to Maggie Valley and warm the next day. You could see the snow on the mountain tops.

"No Comfort at Comfort Inn"
Staff was nice and room was mediocre. However, you will not find much difference in sleeping on the bed or the floor. They have GOT to get some better mattresses! Potential customers should also check to see if there is a motorcycle rally going on during their stay. The concerts for the rallies take place right behind the hotel.

While our room was clean, the hallways and common rooms were under active construction. The workers were painting all day and the fumes were overwhelming in the entrance and halls. Stay somewhere else until they are done with the redo!

"Under construction"
The hotel was under construction when I stayed there. This lead to why I was not highly satisfied. The doors that should have been locked stood wide open when I got there. I did not feel safe - especially since an escaped convict was on the loose in the area. The room was okay but I feel like someone had been in after it was cleaned & tracked in dirt. (At least I hope it was after they cleaned.)

"Great room for the prices"
I was pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room. The beds were like clouds of awesome. The room included a microwave and refrigerator. Hot breakfast every morning from 7-10. Neighboring restaurants left a lot to be desired. Also, there wasn't a grocery store, only a gas station mart. There were some renovations being done, but it was quiet most of the time. My biggest complaint was the lack of communication between the front desk staff. I informed the night desk man I needed late check out. The following morning, housekeeping and the morning desk woman constantly knocked on and called my room 3 hours before my check out time.

"ONE NIGHT STAY"
We only stayed one night. They are going through a remodel right now, so thankfully no construction during the weekend. Our room from what we were told was already done execpt the carpets. In my opinion, the bathroom still seems like it needed to be done. The bed was comfortable and the decor was typical. The fridge & microwave also looked like it wasn't updated. Breakfast was decent. The front desk clerk was extremely nice & helpful.

"Family of 4 with an unexpected stay in Maggie Vall"
Extremely helpful staff, knew area well and assisted on our unexpected travels. Rooms were nice, clean, comfortable. Good breakfast. Surprised by the pool area. We typically stay at Hampton and Holiday Express when traveling for non-vacation. Would rate this hotel as extremely comparable but with the plus of courteous and helpful staff. If we should ever have to travel to Maggie Valley again we will stay at this hotel.

"Best choice for price!"
This was a pleasant surprise, esp. since I booked just days before our stay. For the price, the value, location, amenities were perfect. The hotel appears somewhat dated from the outside and inside of rooms, but they are SUPER clean, comfortable, have new TV, microwave, very cold fridge, and working heated pool and hot tub area. We overheard another guest saying 2 other motels nearby did not have their indoor pools/hot tubs working. Breakfast incl. hot items that were yummy ~ make your own waffles, sausage, biscuits and gravy, egg; and all the basic items, too (muffins, bagels, juice, yogurt, cereal). We skied all day, then looked forward to being so close that we could get back and warm and clean up, within minutes! This was on the main strip, near a lot of great restaurants (esp. Hurleys!), so all in all, just perfect. I only give it 4 stars bc it could use updating, but I would still def. recommend it to all my friends and family!

"Quick Tubing Adventure"
We traveled to Maggie Valley for a quick trip with family to tube. Maggie Valley is absolutely dead during the winter season! Most all activities in or nearby are shut down until early spring. The hotel staff was very friendly. They had not booked all our rooms near each other. The desk attendant, Marie worked to rearrange our rooms and placed us near each other. They allowed our group to eat lunch in the breakfast area as long as we cleaned up...and we did. The walls must be very thin at this hotel because it sounded like elephants above us one morning. The overflow parking appears to be in someones front yard.LOL

"Our first trip to Maggie Valley in 30 years."
We had a great time. The staff was very good and helpful. Good Southern Hospitality. My only complaint was the pool room. It was condensation due to the cold weather outside. That was no problem, though. It is nice to have a warm swimming pool when the outside temp. is cold. Keep up the good work. r, Phil and Fran Greene

"Typical Maggie Valley"
A little run down, but about what I have come to expect from Maggie Valley. Check in was quick once the lady returned to the desk. The room wasn't bad, but had a clogged sink. We were offered another room with an odd smell, so the last room was given to us. Standard, but clean room. The lady at the desk was later seen cleaning the odd smelling room herself. As with most hotels, there are inconsiderate people that would slam doors and shout down the halls, but they did not wake the kids, so no problems. The pool was cold, but nice. The hot tub left a foul odor on me, so I quickly bathed. No problems with the fridge or microwave, and wanted to bring the shower head home. The breakfast was very good with friendly chat shared by all. We were next door to Oktoberfest, so there was entertainment for the evening. Marie (Allen?)at the front desk was essentially running the entire place herself, while dealing with nasty, unfriendly patrons. She was probably the best hotel worker I have ever dealt with.

"Desk Clerk is the ONLY Staff??"
Unreal. Friday night at 8pm, goofy Octoberfest right next door and, when we arrive, a note on the desk saying "sorry, no one is here". After 30 minutes the woman shows up and all she could say was "Oh , I was fixing a tv set! What a fly-by-night operation.

"Older but fine hotel in Maggie Valley"
Far from Cherokee - the 14 miles is on winding mountain road, takes a long time so not a good base for Cherokee or the casino. The hotel is a bit worn, but comfortable and clean with remodeled bathrooms. did not eat the breakfast or use the pool or facilities.

"Too Far From Casino, but okay for a night"
TOO FAR from casino!! The 13-15 mile drive is up and down a mountain, very curvy road, minimal passing lanes. We only stayed one night, so not convenient at all for back and forth to the casino. The hotel room was pretty clean and comfortable. The hallways and other areas of the hotel are less than desirable. Typical overpriced budget hotel. We got back to the room around midnight and NO parking. The front desk clerk didn't do much about it, and told us to park in the grass field next to the hotel. Wasn't thrilled about that. Don't bother with the free breakfst unless you're starving or broke. Very small room that was packed. Food had been picked over and was mostly processed food. We took one look, and went elsewhere to eat. Maggie Valley seems like a nice community with lots to do.

The staff was very friendly, but that was the highlight of the stay. The indoor pool was cold. The police came to the horel for some reason. The water pressure in the shower was horrible. Hotel is conveniently located near the Cataloochee Ski Resort and overall it's fine for an overnight or two night stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was really good. Cleanliness was an issue: we did find a hair or two in the bathroom, and the beds had sheets with small holes/stains/stray hairs, and the stairs looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a long time.

"not as advertised"
Well when we got there, seemed fine, room was clean but since i booked through expedia, we didnt get the room we booked. Apparently when you use expedia you get a different room, they advertised spa tubs in every room, not a fact. Which was the main reason my wife wanted to stay there. She was disappointed to say the least. The heated pool is on the outside, no inside entrance. The best part of our stay was eating at the mexican restaurant with in walking distance.
