"Misleading pictures, absolute dump"
This place was an absolute dump. The pictures on the website for this hotel showed a modern, well landscaped building. The hotel was actually a 60's style fleabag next to a busy highway in a extremely sketchy area. The room was filthy with dirty carpet, stains in the bathroom, and dust everywhere. The coffee maker was covered in crud. The sheets on […] the bed had holes in them. Trust me, pay the extra 30 bucks and stay somewhere else! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Overnite stay on the way to Ohio. Good for the price. Obvious sewer construction going on. Phew! But, it's not the hotel's fault. No smell in the room, just outside.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice manager and hotel is good"
We were traveling from Chicago to New Orleans for a road trip. We booked for 2 nights but after we arrived at the hotel we decided to spend 1 night in Memphis since there is really not much to stay for in Memphis. The manager refunded for the second night without a hesitation. Thumb up for his help.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"It was fair for the price"
Our favorite hotels in the area were booked, so we opted to stay here rather than pay an arm and leg for something for only a quick overnight stay. The hotel accommodated us on an extremely late check-in (after midnight). It was difficult to get to as the exit was closed for road construction. According to the hotel that will remain closed until mid-2015. […] The room wasn't stellar, but we weren't expecting too much for $50 bucks. They did not charge us extra for our extra 3 kids either. The room was a little dated and not extremely fresh and plush, but again, it was $50 bucks. I've stayed in rooms that cost almost double that were in worse condition. The bathroom smelled a little funky and the breakfast was stale donuts, but we thought the overall rate was worth more than what was offered. If I was in a pinch, I would stay here again. The car that appeared to be abandoned in the parking lot concerned me. There wasn't any shampoo/conditioner, as mentioned by a previous reviewer. At least the bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and the temperature controls worked.Genuine Expedia guest review

We were very well pleased was close to Southland Park which was our main reason for coming to West Memphis. The room was clean, and had two very good nites of rest.. Would consider staying with you again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Moving from west coast to east coast"
Husband booked this room online, because website indicates dogs are accepted. I was traveling with a child and two dogs and pulling a trailer. There is not a drive that goes around the building, though it appeared to be. After the shock that you are booked to stay in a dive, you pull in & there is no where to park a trailer, then stuck maneuvering backwards […] out of there. The other side of the building was empty, so there was room to turn around. I go to check in and the clerk says no dogs, no refunds (booked online) I call my husband who booked the room, after arguing with the woman, she argues with him but eventually agrees to a $10.00 fee for the dogs but wont take my debit card, wants cash. I tell her I don't have cash, after digging around in my purse I found $5.00 she eventually agreed to use my card. 45 minutes later I am given a room key, not what you want to deal with after being on the road for 10 hours!!! "off freeway, but not welcoming"
Great location as far as being off the freeway. We arrived late and the lady that checked us in seemed bothered and upset. Breakfast was just dry cereal that looked old and stale. A little disappointed as we specifically choose to stay here as to save money on food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The clerk did m not smile or greet us when we checked in. I think we woke her up, but it was only 10:30 pm. There was two bars of soap but no other toiletries in the room. The Styrofoam coffee cups were not individually wrapped, which I am wary of. The bed was very firm, which would be great fit a back sleeper. Unfortunately I am a side sleeper so I […] woke up a few times to roll over and relieve the pressure on my shoulder. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for a place to sleep"
Your average/below average motel. First room smelled like cigarette and carpet spray, second one had rips in carpet. Bathroom walls were dirty, tub worn & scratched, breakfast was pre-packaged convenience food. Iron was broken, and both the ironing board and the hair dryer was missing. Located right next to interstate with difficulty finding it because […] exit was closed due to road construction. We were only expecting a bed and shower for about $50 a night and got it so not a surprise. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Not very clean"
This hotel was ok at best. It was not very clean - the coffee pot was so filthy I didn't want to use it. Ok for one night if you don't expect much from a hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The manager at the front desk was not friendly at all. She never once looked me in the eyes while helping me check into my room. She never even told me what time check out was. She asked if I was traveling alone and I was and told me I could only sleep in one of the beds of my double queen bed room. Obviously I am only capable of sleeping in one bed […] at a time. This lead me to believe that if the other bed looked untouched they probably weren't going to clean it. The bath towels were rough and barely wrapped around my petit body. It doesn't matter how cheap a hotel is, there is no excuse for poor customer service. Will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Worst Stay EVER!!"
09/19/14 fellure2007 Merryville, Louisiana
Place was horrible. There was a pair of old boxer by the T.V. The smoke detector would go off every time the air would shut off and that would be every 30 mins. The breakfast was 6 chocolate doughnuts and a gallon of milk. Room also smelled like a incense burner!!!

Place is horrible. I asked for 2 queens and when i walk in to the room there was only one bed. Location looks really scary and not enough towers in the bath. plus not enough toilet paper and the floor

Ok room. Staff didn't want to talk. The hotel was almost empty. The location was close to the motorway: you look Right at it from your room. Sad place, sad people and sad breakfast but Nice Price and good internet acces. A bed to sleep on - nothing Else.

Least expensive option in the area. It is good for a layover, but not for stay. The room had a strong incense odor. It was right next to a highway and you could hear the traffic easily. The heater was not very efficient and the room had a strange heat gradient...very hot away from the window and door, and colder as you got to the window and door, suggesting a lot of heat loss through them (it was frigid outside). The bed and pillows were nice, and I did get a good night's sleep, which is all I needed for this stay.
"Certainly not worth 4 checkmarks"

We were travelling from Ontario, Canada to Texas and stopped at this hotel overnight. Generally Americas Best Value is not too bad - certainly not the greatest but bearable. This one was absolutely disgusting. It was really dirty - drapes dusty, cobwebs in corners, bathroom floor corners dirty. So-called continental breakfast was most unappealing - 2 choices of cereal, small chocolate donuts or white bread to toast. That's it. I would never stay there again.

I recently retired and went on a motorcycle trip. I was gone for a little over 2 weeks and stayed mostly Best Value Inns. this is the worst place I have been in many years. I had reservations for a non smoking room. The first one I was put in was a smoking room, when I asked for another room the desk person acted like it was a big deal to change rooms. The place was empty and 2/3 of the hotel is non smoking. The room was not very good. The floor was filty. when you got in the shower you left black foot prints in the tub. There was half of a soda in the fridge, I also had 2 empty bottle of liquor in the drawers. The coffee pot had not been cleaned and was not usable. No tissues, alarm clock and no shampoo. Most Best Value Inns are good for the price and I would stay again. You can find other place in the area that are a much better value for your money.

The Memphis area is just a tough one in which to find good value in my experience. West Memphis is a rather dreary location but this motel stands up in a comparison in value. It is pretty old but the owners work earnestly to keep things in repair and to make it a nice environment. The rooms are standard in size and amenities, They offer a minimal breakfast of cold cereal and faux juice. Things appeared to be clean and tidy. The lady who runs things is very pleasant and helpful. It is not a mistake to stay here and provides good enough value for the rate of $43 double. The location by the intersection of I-40 and I-55 could cut into some people's sleep with the constant road noise.
"Bed bug alert"
03/21/12 Rtroop Davenport
I know, it can happen anywhere, anytime - bed bugs! Hopefully they got the little critters taken care of before next guests get the surprise... Just wish we would have been shown a little more compassion to ensure they didn't hop aboard for our next adventure. Certainly no offer for reparation for the ugly inconvenience. Otherwise was a fairly pleasant stay. Will definitely check a little further, behind pictures & under mattress, next hotel stay, elsewhere.
"Finally, a hotel worth staying in!"

Memphis hotels were too expensive, so I thought I'd look into hotels in West Memphis. Luckily, I had a RoomSaver coupon book which showed a special offer of $42.99 for a room including a mini-fridge, microwave and coffee maker. Plenty of TV channels in case inclement weather keeps you inside. Front desk staff was very friendly - haven't encountered housekeeping yet (as we're in the middle of our stay). But AT LEAST THE HIGH SPEED INTERNET WORKS!
"It was okay but just a little pricey for what you got."
01/24/11 ts57n Jacksonville, Arkansas
I had occasion to use this hotel for a one night stay on Sunday night, Jan 23, 2011. I normally use this chain of hotels during my over the road travels because they are usually VERY fairly priced for the quality of room you are getting and the fact that their internet works excellently and is always included with the room charges. This particular room was ok as it was furnished with two double beds, 25 inch color TV with remote and cable service, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, blowdryer, and an iron/ironing board. The problems I had with the room were the price I paid was just a little bit too high for the room IMO. I have stayed in better rooms at a considerably lower price within this same chain of hotels. Rooms that were more like suites with a separate room to serve as your "office" and a separate kitchen area. This room in question was just your typical straight shot from the door back to the vanity/bathroom area. In fact it looked a lot like the Motel 6 layout of their rooms. The beds in my room were not very comfortable at all to sleep in for my taste. The mattresses were too firm and the pillows wayyy too soft in offering NO support whatsoever of your neck and head. My room was located real close to the front of the hotel and thus I was treated to the sounds of interstate truck traffic all night long as I laid trying to go to sleep. The hotel only had a coke machine to go along with the ice vending machine so if you desired a late night snack you were out of luck unless you felt up to walking a couple of thousand yards back up the interstate service road, (that was one way only btw), to the local Waffle House. To sum it up, I would NOT recommend this hotel because of the price, & my stay at this hotel consisted of poor sleep quality due to the beds being very uncomfortable, and traffic noise from the nearby interstate along with very few options on snacks with no snack machine on the premises. One other thing. During this time of year having no pool was not an issue due to the cold weather. But during the summer months some families who travel with children would likely want such an amenity. This particular hotel did not have one. One last thing. According to this hotel chain's travel guide this hotel was rated as one of their "Best of the Best" in the rating system they use. I have stayed at other locations in this chain with lower ratings and found the rooms to be much better than the one I stayed in on the night in question.
