We loved the spread for the free continental breakfast with the made to order omelets and waffles. Also loved the beautiful courtyard to drink in when friends came to visit. Super close to the Metro with great restaurants within walking distance.

Rooms were clean. We had a room overlooking the courtyard which was very nice. So quiet at night I thought we were the only guests! Free breakfast can't be beat. The hotel is pleasant looking and the room were nice. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The courtyard was pretty and it was nice to have a patio off the room. Hollywood Hotel was reasonably priced and clean and well maintained. The gated parking was convenient and secure. The breakfast was as good as we have had at this price range with omelette chef and waffle station. I would stay here again if I did not have to drive west too many times.

I booked this hotel because it said it was close by to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Grauman's Chinese Theater and the "Hollywood scene." Close as in three miles. When I think of close, I think of walking distance. The hotel room was large and spacious but the bathroom was small and you could see that it had been remodeled recently. The room had not carpet […] but had tile. There were five of us and I had to pay $60 for an extra person--but that $60 didn't include a roll away bed--that would have been another $60. I'm assuming that the $60 covered the continental breakfast each morning. The scrambled eggs and omelette station was nice but other than that a typical continental breakfast. I was not impressed with the customer service. There was one young man that worked the afternoon shift who was really nice and offered to help us book a tour, but that was it. The room, as I said was huge and the bath room was small. When you are looking at this hotel on the hotels.com website, the photo of the hotel is actually the rear entrance to the hotel. The parking in back of the hotel is gated and locked and you have to pay$20 a day to park. Considering the neighborhood, it was worth it to pay for the parking We didn't have time for the pool but it we did look at it and it was beautifully decorated. Bed was comfortable. Room had a funny smell, sort of like sewer. Small room, kind of ugly. Floor was linoleum, or something like that, which I appreciated for the cleanliness of it. My husband liked the place for the location. He wouldn't mind staying there again. I'm not sure that I would want to.

Arrived at 3, had a meeting at 4. They made us wait 10 minutes to check in so they could change shifts. Not a single staff member was smiling or welcoming in any way. 1 queen room was reserved. We were given two full size beds. Room was small. Toilet wasn't bolted down and did not flush properly. Called the front desk. The staff member said he double […] room was better located and larger than the queen and it wasn't on the busy street. He said he would have the toilet fixed. When we tried to shower we had to really pull the handle hard just to start the water flow. It took at least 15 minutes for the water to get hot. The room seemed to have central a/c but not heat. They provided a space heater which heated the room but was another obsticle in an already crowded room. Despite DND sign, someone knocked on the door at 10:15 am. We said we were sleeping. They stopped knocking but didn't apologize. At 11:10 am, we got a call asking us to leave as checkout time was 11 am. I exlpained the problems we had with the shower, etc., and the person didn't apologize. She said she'd tell a "houseman" and she'd see us soon when we checked out. The rooms seemed newly remodeled and we did hear construction noise going on. Overall, the stay was most unpleasant. This hotel is not worthy of the 3-star rating it has. Read more

The first thing I want to mention is probably the first thing anyone else would not notice until they went to check in. Parking is $22 a night, per car. I wish they had been a bit more open about this during my reservation. I would have found another place to stay. I checked in, and it's an alright place. It doesn't look too nice from the outside but […] once you're on the property, the images are pretty accurate. The room was a lot smaller than I expected, but that's fine since I was just using it to stay in and really didn't need any more than it had. Breakfast was served downstairs on the "R" floor, but the elevator had other plans and wouldn't even let me go to the "R" floor, even with my keycard. Not sure what that was about. The hallways looked like an asylum to me... and the maids came to my door every ten minutes every morning and opened the door without knocking most times. Their interruptions were lessened when I put on the DO NOT DISTURB sign, but they were still coming. Eventually I tried just asking them to clean while I was in there since they kept coming back... but they didn't speak English so they didn't understand what I was saying. I really wanted to like this place... but I just don't see myself coming back for any reason other than that they have a great location when it comes to seeing my friends in West Hollywood. The location near the metro is great. The breakfast with people making omelets was a nice touch. I'd give breakfast a high rating with that alone. The hallways are dark as is the restaurant. There was no carpeting in the hotel room which was weird and not nice.

We stayed for one night out on the town. There is lots to do for dinner and night life, all within walking distance. The beds were super uncomfortable and the vinyl floors were cold. Nice looking hotel but too expensive. Self-park is $22 per night and is not included. You might as well valet.

Upon check-in we were given great advice as to how to make the most out of our time in L.A by the friendly reception staff who were kind enough to print bus and train schedules we needed (both bus stops and train station are very close to the hotel which came in handy and it was also close to the Griffith observatory which has amazing views of both […] the city and Hollywood sign). Free wifi & daily free breakfast, was great knowing you could have a delicious healthy (or a little naughty) start to the day before heading out. Terrible. Fine print at bottom of page says there is a parking charge. Hotels.com absolutely no help in this. I dialed a hotel extension for local takeout and was charged for 2 phone calls. The only good thing is they did change my noisy room 15 feet from North Vermont Ave to an inner courtyard.

The Hollywood hotel was conveniently located to our destinations and to many restaurants that catered to my Vegan diet. It was only a short drive to many points of interest in Hollywood which was a huge plus. The room was on the smaller side but clean and the bed/bedding was comfortable. The downside was that the hotel was completely tiled and the doors/windows […] are far from soundproof. Anytime someone walked, rolled a suitcase, or spoke outside our door you could hear them clear as day. If you left your bathroom door open you could hear your neighbor sneeze in the next room through the wall. We also had a courtyard room which would have been lovely (with the fountain running through the night ) had it not been for the screaming guests occupying the space until 3 in the morning. The other downside was the free wifi was unreliable and we were continuously kicked off the network. All in all in regards to location, cleanliness, courteous staff, and room accommodations (ie. fridge/microwave) it was a good choice. Hotel is a 2 minutes walk from the Metro Station which was very convenient. Neighborhood is a bit sketchy at night, but so is most of Hollywood! Room is comfortable if you dont mind squeaky beds. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel (204). It was helpful when we needed to get to Beverly Center (although you have to get off and change to another […] bus to get there). A 99c store is nearby, as well as a Rite Aid pharmacy, and lots of nice eateries including a Wendy's restaurant. Front Desk staff helped us receive several packages and kept them safe until we got back. Breakfast is great with waffles, cereals, and eggs prepared to your own taste (spanish omelette, plain omelets, scrambled eggs, and even egg whites). It will keep you full most of the day. We also rented a car from the car rental desk in the hotel's lobby, it was very convenient but a bit pricey (USD 100/day for a Chrysler Convertible). Hotel has a parking lot but at a rate of USD 20/night, we preferred parking on the street (in Lexington Avenue you can find some spots with no parking meters). Check out was at 11AM and our flight was late in the evening so we kept our luggage stored in a closet by the front desk which was very nice. There is a small gift shop near the parking door and several vending machines in each floor. Only downside is that we had asked for a room with a safe and it was written in the confirmation letter we got from the hotel, but when we arrived there, they told us there rnt any available! Loved everything about my stay except my room was very loud as it was facing the main road. Although I was given the choice to change rooms if i was able to get up before 11am one morning of my stay but couldnt be bothered and had already unpacked some things. Very nice room, with everything you want for a room. Very friendly people. Very good deal for college students. It's the best hotel during our trip!

The Hotel is more than 100 years old, so the rooms are a bit small but they do a good job on upkeep. Although the surrounding neighborhood is not the best, it is not bad, and the location is convenient to just about everywhere in the Hollywood and downtown LA area. The hotel could use a little updating. The wood furnature is chipped up and it could be a little questionable weather the floors were mopped (noticed a lot of scuff marks from shoes).The beds were a little too firm for our family. The rooms are not spacious. For a 2 bed queen size room, there was only a walkway from the door to the other side of the […] room with enough space to setup the ironing board by the fridge and microwave at the other end of the room. The bathroom has a small counter and the bath tub is a little steep for people with smaller legs. Also, the tub and bath mat had grounded in dirt, making it difficult to determine how sanitary it was. There was no complimentary soap, luckily we bring our own anyway. There was only one coffee package to make coffee and this is a 2 bed room so there should be a minimum 2 coffees' for each type #caffinated and decaffintated#, we only had one of each type. Same with the breakfast tea, we only had 2 packages of the decaffinated tea. The iron is chained to the ironing board making it a little difficult to iron at times. Overall, the continental breakfast was the highlight of the hotel. For a continental breakfast, this is the best and most choices I have seen. To be honest, I usually pass on the continental breakfast but during my stay here, we did make sure we got breakfast before leaving for the day. Read more
