"Convenient and comfortable."
Fair price. Comfortable accommodations. Still in process of renovations. Great view. Lovely public balcony. Chairs on private balcony would have been nice. It was pleasant overall.Genuine Expedia guest review
I really liked the hotel, the only problem was the parking fee was way to much! I was meeting my daughters for a bike race they were in at Griffith Park so we had two vehicles at $24.95 each! Yikes! That was unexpected, but they made up for it with the wonderful breakfast!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Avg place, no thrills. Not very walkable, but what is in LA. Secure parking is a plus.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel and is close to both LA Downtown"
I am glad Expedia recommened the hotel to me. It was really my first time to stay in that. The full brakfast was more than I expected. I will recommend it to my friendsGenuine Expedia guest review

"Street Parking but not much else!"
Parking is very expensive for the location but fortunately there was pretty easy street parking in the area. Our initial room (upstairs) was so seedy that I wanted to run away when I got inside and wouldvt even sit on the bed. There was a lot of construction in the hallways going on and a very bad smell. They moved us downstairs to a cleaner room on […] the ground floor but it was very noisy and not updated. Just overall not a comfortable experience for someone who usually finds hotels at this price point very acceptable. Honestly, I considered cutting my losses and paying for a second hotel. For the first time, im sorry that I ignored the bad reviews. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Sacrifices for price"
This hotel was priced right from the outside but there were many sacrifices. First off the hotel had absolutely no consideration for the construction currently going on. They placed us in a room just down the hall of obnoxious pounding. We went down to ask to be moved and they proceeded to tell us that everyone is complaining (yet they didn't warn us […] or attempt to put us in a better place from the beginning?). Next, you will pay for parking, $24.20/day. We saw this later after booking and another group was surprised when they checked-in. I guess it's common for the area but not called out when we booked. The rooms also leave a lot to be desired. The space was very small compared to average rooms and I believe they called out movie channels that did not exist other than your standard cable channels that play movies. The beds are not comfortable and if you have the space I would pack your own pillow. It was nice to have a small fridge and microwave in the room. The breakfast buffet was nice but they did have a line for the fresh made eggs every day. Very good but please notice that "buffet" does not apply to the egg line as they will only let you order once. Not a problem for us but did see others surprised. The pool is also very small and definitely not heated. I come from a cold state so we were excited for warm weather but couldn't even use the pool. I would not recommend and suggest booking direct if you do - Expedia customer given less customer service. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good value at price I paid."
Hotel is older 4star in need of and getting some renovations. Obvious signs of wear everywhere. Included breakfast very good generally with omelet station. Some desk workers much better than most. Cleaning staff fast and very accommodating. Bizarre bar opening hours. Elevators super slow. But, re-read the title.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Hotel needs improvement"
Hello, 1. The hotel does not provide a free shuttle to and from the airport. 2. guests have to pay to use the hotel computer. 3. on my second day I had to ask for towels for myself and my friend. After they cleaned the room, they left us with one towel. 4.The hotel is not in a best area but is ok. You can use the nearby metro to get around. 4.Hotel […] has a good hot breakfast and Hugo and his staff are really nice. 5.The toilet bowl cleaner was in the bathroom. That's not good. I dont like that at all. 6.The bathtub did not drain the water while i was taking a shower. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Great access to Metro station. Very comfortable beds. Great free breakfast though hotel needs to cut on the time that guests have to wait in line to be served an omelette or waffles ( try scrambled eggs in warming trays instead?). Good value for your money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only reason I rated less on hotel condition was because they were in the middle of remodeling. Pleasant stay. Great hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hollywood Hotel: for the most part a good value"
We liked this hotel,(being centrally located & reasonably priced). The parking ($24.95/nite) is outrageous. The rooms are small (ours faced the courtyard) but very comfortable, clean and had all the amenities. HOWEVER, they should do something about their bathroom fans which are incredibly noisy and you can even hear the one in the adjacent room. Also, […] the thermostats don't work and set to very cold, so you had to turn off the power and open the sliding door to get air. That works unless you have a noisy group in the courtyard. Great breakfasts w/omelets made to order and a lot of healthy choices too. All in all, a great price for the location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
From the outside and in the lobby the hotel looks inviting, but once in the room, it's old and needs updating. I stayed at this hotel because of cost and because it was close to Kaiser Hospital. The staff was great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good overall experience"
Hotel had views of scientology church a little creepy and other city life. Service was good except we were not told that their was construction in front of our room stopping us from entering for a short period. That was pretty much the only negative, clean rooms which were large. Breakfast buffet was pretty good with nice omelettes and waffles. "Hotel stay workout."
I stayed at this hitel for 3 nights. I had a non smoking room, however if people smoked outside the hotel the smoke still came in the room because it has about 2 inch gap underneath the door and the hallway wreaked with smoke. I couldnt control the air in room, it was too cold. I turned iff the air then ut was stuffy. The bathroom doir would get stuck, […] so i had to push the door with my body. I literally have a bruise on my arm for pushing hard everytime i used the bathroom. The shower knob was hard to turn on. I had to use my muscles pull out the knob. I just felt i had to work out to use the room. Trust me, i sm not exaggerating. Lastly, i didnt see when i made a reservation, a charge of approximately $24.00 is charged for parking in the back parking lot. This should have been applied or charged when i made my reservations. In all honesty, i will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stay at Motel 6, atleast they'll leave a light on."
So we get there and they immediately start to run us around about fees and where they'll be placing us. We get up into the room and it's like 50 degrees. We turn the thermostat up to about 75, and it manages to get colder. Call the desk, their response "Oh you just have to turn it off" So the central AC was either ON or off. The thermostat was for show. […] So they where doing some work on the floor we where staying on. But they worked until 10:30 at night with sanders and hammers, and started back up again around 7am. The room next to us had a bathroom fan so loud it shook our wall , and of course those people lived in the bathroom.. Parking was outrageous at $25 a day on top of the stay. SO lots of Negative things about this hotel. One good thing. For as basic as their overall breakfast was, the hot bar, which had a few chefs there make any sort of egg you wanted, be it fried, scrambled or an over stuffed omelet. As well as different choices of Waffles each day on top of the plain they offered, Blue Berry,Strawberry, and Chocolate while we where there, as well as a full juice bar. For 5 out of our 8 days there Chef Hugo was there and was quite frankly amazing with what little he had to work with. The hotel itself, with it's TILE FLOORED ROOMS, and a LIFTED BATHTUB WITH LOWERED CEILING so anyone over the height of 5'2 had issues showing was HORRIBLE. If you're in LA, you'd be quite better off at a motel 6 over this place. At least they have free parking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Weekend Getaway"
My boyfriend and I came here to celebrate his birthday last weekend and while hotel and room had nice amenities, there were a few things that could have been updated. "Good News and Bad News"
The good news: Breakfast was good. Dry sauna. Transit very close (You can see it when looking out the window.) These are the things I hope they plan to accurately convey and/or change: I was a little surprised when we first pulled up to the hotel. The steps with the fountain are actually in the back of the building. The rooms on the first floor near […] the courtyard have not been renovated. The paint in the rooms needs to be touched up and there was sheetrock damage in the rooms. The courtyard's plants are very old and there were a lot of spider webs. Internet and WiFi is extremely unreliable. I was kicked off multiple times while trying to complete work. I had to go to the business center and pay for internet in order to complete a few reports. Yes, you have to pay extra for almost everything in the hotel. Parking is over $20 a night. There were a lot of abandoned businesses near the hotel. There is a shopping plaza walking distance with a frozen yogurt shop, Staples, Pizza Hut,Payless shoes, and a few other businesses. The service was as good as they could make it seeing that I am sure they receive a lot of complaints from guests because the rooms and locations weren't what they expected. You get what you pay for. If you plan to tour alone, do not stay at this hotel unless you are walking to and from your car only. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good with room for improvement."
The hotel was ok. Clean and comfortable. A few items were annoying, first of which is the unbelievably slow elevators, then the vexing machine being completely sold out of all beverages and no ice in the ice machine. Has a nice buffet breakfast. The parking is a real pain with the gates. Overall is is a comfortable stay for a good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not at all what I expected"
I'm from NJ, so when I saw "Hollywood Hotel," I thought downtown and centrally located. Well the name sure is misleading. This hotel is in an undesirable area where I didn't feel safe walking around by myself as a tourist, and was not walking distance to any attractions or neighborhoods a tourist would want to see. In all fairness maybe I should've […] done my homework, but I saw a good deal in "Hollywood" and pounced, and now I know why it was so cheap. The whole hotel is undergoing extensive renovations, which are NOT advertised or disclosed at the time of purchase. I paid for my room in full, in advance, and was displeased when I arrived to find sections of flooring ripped up and roped off (difficult and dangerous to navigate with luggage), construction going on right outside the doors of rooms and above you all day long starting in the AM, molding and baseboards ripped off the walls, paint and dust, etc. I also had to switch my room 3 times - VERY LOUD AC, smelly, dirty bed linens, dirty sink, standing water in tub and dripping faucet, etc. Even though I paid in full over a month ago, I was asked for $100 deposit/hold and that was all the money I had left after traveling all week. Maybe that's my fault, but it did not say anywhere in my transaction or confirmation that I'd be asked for a deposit upon arrival when I already paid. What's done of the new flooring so far looks nice, but this place needs a massive overhaul, including AC system and elevators. Won't be back Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Apon arriving, we didn't think much of the hotel until we went inside. It was very nice, clean, and beautiful. The area, though not perfect, the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Great central location. Awesome breakfast. Rooms and property are well maintained. Staff is super friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
I think the 3 star rating is a little high for this hotel. The staff was great and certain areas were nicely remodeled. Other accommodations were definitely 2 star - the rooms are very dated and the bedding is below what I would expect in a 3 star hotel. "Nicely remodeled hotel with squeaky beds"
We love the Hollywood Hotel and have stayed there three times in the past year. They have done an excellent job on remodeling the place, staff is friendly, rooms are large and clean, and you can't beat the breakfast with made-to-order omlette service. Our only complaint was that the beds are so squeaky in the room we just stayed (254) that we couldn't […] sleep. Every litte move our children made in the one bed made a loud squeak. We literally had to pull them out of the one bed at 2AM to switch with ours which was also squeaky but not as bad. In the end, if you don't get a good night's sleep, you can't be happy with your stay. We were exhausted the next morning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Room was very run-down"
The Hollywood Hotel looks great--as long as you don't look too hard. In my room, the walls showed visible scratch and dirt marks, scuffs, and chips. The marble-topped desk looked clean in natural light, but the unwiped water rings and marks made me wonder how clean it was. There was rust and decay in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and the […] room was otherwise well-appointed, but everything looked extremely worn. Also, I received a phone call at 11 am on my check out day reminding me that it was check-out time. Extremely pushy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice and convenient."
Conveniently located, inexpensive, clean, and pleasant. My only issue is that I did not know up front about the $24/day parking fee. But I guess that's not unusual for LA. Otherwise, it was enjoyable. Also included were free WiFi, breakfast, and a pool plus fitness area.Genuine Expedia guest review
