It was very nice. Clean. Nice location. Nice breakfast. The only drawback was the extra charge for the parking. A steep price I was not aware of. I would go back there though if the prices were competitive.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good overall experience"
Hotel had views of scientology church a little creepy and other city life. Service was good except we were not told that their was construction in front of our room stopping us from entering for a short period. That was pretty much the only negative, clean rooms which were large. Breakfast buffet was pretty good with nice omelettes and waffles. Very […] close to a train station which was helpful but that was about it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel stay workout."
I stayed at this hitel for 3 nights. I had a non smoking room, however if people smoked outside the hotel the smoke still came in the room because it has about 2 inch gap underneath the door and the hallway wreaked with smoke. I couldnt control the air in room, it was too cold. I turned iff the air then ut was stuffy. The bathroom doir would get stuck, […] so i had to push the door with my body. I literally have a bruise on my arm for pushing hard everytime i used the bathroom. The shower knob was hard to turn on. I had to use my muscles pull out the knob. I just felt i had to work out to use the room. Trust me, i sm not exaggerating. Lastly, i didnt see when i made a reservation, a charge of approximately $24.00 is charged for parking in the back parking lot. This should have been applied or charged when i made my reservations. In all honesty, i will not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Stay at Motel 6, atleast they'll leave a light on."
So we get there and they immediately start to run us around about fees and where they'll be placing us. We get up into the room and it's like 50 degrees. We turn the thermostat up to about 75, and it manages to get colder. Call the desk, their response "Oh you just have to turn it off" So the central AC was either ON or off. The thermostat was for show. […] So they where doing some work on the floor we where staying on. But they worked until 10:30 at night with sanders and hammers, and started back up again around 7am. The room next to us had a bathroom fan so loud it shook our wall , and of course those people lived in the bathroom.. Parking was outrageous at $25 a day on top of the stay. SO lots of Negative things about this hotel. One good thing. For as basic as their overall breakfast was, the hot bar, which had a few chefs there make any sort of egg you wanted, be it fried, scrambled or an over stuffed omelet. As well as different choices of Waffles each day on top of the plain they offered, Blue Berry,Strawberry, and Chocolate while we where there, as well as a full juice bar. For 5 out of our 8 days there Chef Hugo was there and was quite frankly amazing with what little he had to work with. The hotel itself, with it's TILE FLOORED ROOMS, and a LIFTED BATHTUB WITH LOWERED CEILING so anyone over the height of 5'2 had issues showing was HORRIBLE. If you're in LA, you'd be quite better off at a motel 6 over this place. At least they have free parking. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good News and Bad News"
The good news: Breakfast was good. Dry sauna. Transit very close (You can see it when looking out the window.) These are the things I hope they plan to accurately convey and/or change: I was a little surprised when we first pulled up to the hotel. The steps with the fountain are actually in the back of the building. The rooms on the first floor near […] the courtyard have not been renovated. The paint in the rooms needs to be touched up and there was sheetrock damage in the rooms. The courtyard's plants are very old and there were a lot of spider webs. Internet and WiFi is extremely unreliable. I was kicked off multiple times while trying to complete work. I had to go to the business center and pay for internet in order to complete a few reports. Yes, you have to pay extra for almost everything in the hotel. Parking is over $20 a night. There were a lot of abandoned businesses near the hotel. There is a shopping plaza walking distance with a frozen yogurt shop, Staples, Pizza Hut,Payless shoes, and a few other businesses. The service was as good as they could make it seeing that I am sure they receive a lot of complaints from guests because the rooms and locations weren't what they expected. You get what you pay for. If you plan to tour alone, do not stay at this hotel unless you are walking to and from your car only. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good with room for improvement."
The hotel was ok. Clean and comfortable. A few items were annoying, first of which is the unbelievably slow elevators, then the vexing machine being completely sold out of all beverages and no ice in the ice machine. Has a nice buffet breakfast. The parking is a real pain with the gates. Overall is is a comfortable stay for a good price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was great after walking at Halloween horror nights and coming to a very comfortable bed and room.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel is under renovations; some flooring was done other was not; the bathroom door did not have a fan or a lock. The quality of the workmanship was questionable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great for the price!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good but noisy"
Unfortunately with a construction site in front of our room and one in the hotel itself. The air conditioning was very loud. Besides that, an overall good experience with clean rooms and a good breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't let the Look fool you!"
Apon arriving, we didn't think much of the hotel until we went inside. It was very nice, clean, and beautiful. The area, though not perfect, the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Great central location. Awesome breakfast. Rooms and property are well maintained. Staff is super friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
I think the 3 star rating is a little high for this hotel. The staff was great and certain areas were nicely remodeled. Other accommodations were definitely 2 star - the rooms are very dated and the bedding is below what I would expect in a 3 star hotel. The neighborhood was a little scary but the hotel was a nice buffer from its surroundings. It was […] convenient to all of the things you would want to experience in the Hollywood area. "Nicely remodeled hotel with squeaky beds"
We love the Hollywood Hotel and have stayed there three times in the past year. They have done an excellent job on remodeling the place, staff is friendly, rooms are large and clean, and you can't beat the breakfast with made-to-order omlette service. Our only complaint was that the beds are so squeaky in the room we just stayed (254) that we couldn't […] sleep. Every litte move our children made in the one bed made a loud squeak. We literally had to pull them out of the one bed at 2AM to switch with ours which was also squeaky but not as bad. In the end, if you don't get a good night's sleep, you can't be happy with your stay. We were exhausted the next morning. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Room was very run-down"
The Hollywood Hotel looks great--as long as you don't look too hard. In my room, the walls showed visible scratch and dirt marks, scuffs, and chips. The marble-topped desk looked clean in natural light, but the unwiped water rings and marks made me wonder how clean it was. There was rust and decay in the bathroom. The beds were comfortable, and the […] room was otherwise well-appointed, but everything looked extremely worn. Also, I received a phone call at 11 am on my check out day reminding me that it was check-out time. Extremely pushy. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice and convenient."
Conveniently located, inexpensive, clean, and pleasant. My only issue is that I did not know up front about the $24/day parking fee. But I guess that's not unusual for LA. Otherwise, it was enjoyable. Also included were free WiFi, breakfast, and a pool plus fitness area.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was nice with good services such as a nice breakfast buffet included and a small convenience store inside the hotel. This was nice as the vending machines were not working. Room was clean and large (had a room with two queen beds on the first floor) pool area was also good and well maintained. Parking was expensive, $24 per day, so remember this […] when comparing prices. Overall a nice experience for the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Older hotel needs a little help in area"
We found the location of the hotel to be great. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were clean, but areas of the hotel need updating. The wallpaper was peeling off the walls, the tub/showers need updating deperately, but the sinks and countertops have been replaced which was nice. "Great hotel. Close to every place I wanted to go."
Clean friendly place. Staff was great. In the heat of Hollywood and the beach. They had a pool and sauna gym and laundry. The price was a little in the high end for a very small room. They only had one computer in the lobby, though. My sister rented a car which was a very old car with expired plates and the charges was extremely pricey compared to regular […] rental places. We chose to stay here because of its location. There were people in the halls most of the night and they weren't quite. Also the air conditioning in this room was very noises and didn't run very long but came on a lot.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Just a hotel"
It was ok, nothing fancy. Breakfast was good., only the parking you have to pay. And front desk people verry arrogant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great spot to unwind"
The most comfortable beds ever and a fantastic full breakfast; convenient parking for a fee; attractive well-kept grounds. Strange decor in room (matching Starry Night repros over each bed; wallpaper on only some of a wall) but large and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Felt mislead from the minute we arrived.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very clean and close to fun tourist attractions"
Hotel was very comfortable and clean. Close to great tourist attractions but not such a great location to walk around at night. You have to pay extra to park.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Old hotel, good location"
This hotel seems to be crumbling with rust here and there, yet spacious rooms and good location. Our room had windows at Vermont ave. which is noisy even at night as these's a firefighters station and a big hospital nearby.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel that could be better"
Hotel at a good price in a good location, clean and friendly. Nothing within immediate walking distance. Picturesque fountain and courtyard seating area and bar not in use. Which is a shame as the courtyard area would have been a lovely place to relax after a day's sightseeing.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel services was very good. The rooms was big and had a view . Breakfast was awesome . Juan was very helpful. The hotel is in a quiet area . I would come back again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel and great staff. Gift shop was great."
Hotel charged for parking $25 per day. A definite turn off. Parked on street but had to feed meters and move car. Missed one time and got a $63 ticket. Was on third floor and did not like room. Asked front desk if we could move and they accommodated us the next day. The room was much better.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice hotel close to the train ( metro )"
Nice hotel, really clean, the staff is fine and helpful, the hotel has a nice private pool where you can relax. They also have a work out room and a spa. The hotel is well situated.Genuine Expedia guest review
Pluming was bad. Toilet kept backing up and a few times when I had to use the restroom in the middle of the night . We had to plunge it for at least five minutes. Breakfast was good . Paying $22 parking for each day is crazyGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The staff was extremely courteous and very helpful, always obliging and extending their services and hospitality. "Close to major streets for easy travel"
Hotel is convenient for our specific needs. Nicely kept up, pleasant environment. Hotel staff very pleasant and cordial with the exception of one young woman who was very dismissive upon our arrival. Happily we did not deal with her again. Cleaning staff, breakfast area staff all very nice. Clientele is mostly foreign which adds interest.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice Place to Stay on Visits"
Booked this room for our guests. They enjoyed it, not super convenient, nothing really close by. But nice play to stay in HollywoodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel pictures are very misleading. While the staff was extremely polite and courteous, the upkeep of the rooms left a lot to be desired. There was cold tile on the room floors, tons of chipped paint, mismatch outdated furniture, peeling wallpaper in the bathroom, etcetera.Although there were at least 6 cameras in every hall, the neighborhood was […] dirty and "seedy" looking. The pool closed at 8 which was very disappointed for my children. I would not stay again! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice for a night or two"
The staff was friendly and helpful. The room (Deluxe Queen) was nice enough and very spacious. I would say the least pleasing area of the room was the bathroom. It needed some work as the tile needed grout and we had to plunge the toilet a couple of times... as well as the bathtub drained slowly.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place to stay for the price!"
Very nice staff, great breakfast, secure parking. This is the home of the worlds slowest elevator! We took the stairs a lot. We rented a car, but if you are without a vehicle I would rethink this spot. It is located in Korea town and looks kinda rough at night. Otherwise, really enjoyed our stay here.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Bad mood staff, $25 for parking, close to metro"
Lobby staff must learn how to smile as they seem to be always in bad mood. From rooms ate terrible as there is no noise protection and the hotel is 1 block of major hospital (ambulances all night long). If you buy from Expedia for 2 person they will just give you a single queen bad. The overcharge for parking.... $25 per night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Historic hotel with great updates"
Our stay at the Hollywood Hotel met and exceeded all of our expectations. It retains the glory of former days and recent renovations make it feel up to date and modern. The cooked-to-order free breakfast is the best we have ever experienced in a hotel, and the chef, Hugo, made it extra special. My 10 year old granddaughter and I looked forward to breakfast […] every day! Although this hotel is located in a neighborhood that has experienced decline, we felt safe and comfortable, and its location was convenient to all of the major highways and attractions. "Average, Great Location"
If you need a Hollywood hotel that isn't hideously expensive and is moderately comfortable, Hollywood Hotel works. The registration scenario is horrible, with a one lane ramp to the front of the building. We sat there for eons as a very slow and unconscious person took their time about checking in, unaware there were six cars waiting for them to move. […] Not a good start. But the hotel is comfortable - good beds and decent sized rooms and bathrooms. Noisy, however, as Vermont is a very busy street. Overall though, I was happy with the value.
