We traveled with friends. Our goal was to explore the city and visit historic sites. We all liked the hotel, which has a great location, is cozy and comfortable, and offers an excellent view from the window of our 8th floor room. We were picked up by a tour company right from the hotel; and later they drove us back. Overall - a very enjoyable stay.

I have stayed at the Comfort Inn many times. I have find it to be a fairly priced hotel. The staff has always been friendly. The rooms clean. The morning breakfast is satisfactory. Two shortcomings. Since the hotel is located next to 95 and Ben Franklin Bridge, the traffic noise can be loud. Secondly, the price of parking seems to be a bit expensive. However, that is offset as you can enter and exit as you like.

This hotel stinks, literally. As soon as you walk in, there's a thick smell-it's not gross but it's definitely distinct. You walk up to the front desk and it's covered in junk and there are paper towels, toilet paper, cleaning supplies (that probably haven't been used in a long time) in piles behind the desk. Everything just seems in disarray. The bar area looked nice though. My friend and I got a room, rode up the elevator to the 7th floor and everything just seemed sticky. The floors definitely have not been vacuumed in a long time. The first room that was assigned to us was being occupied which is no big deal but the second room assigned to us didn't work. again, no big deal-just inconvenient. Finally we got our room and again, it just seemed sticky and the bathroom had just a really weird odor. The bathroom is also really outdated and the wallpaper was coming off our bedroom wall. Just overall not a pleasant experience here. Pay the extra twenty-thirty bucks and go somewhere else. This hotel just needs a lot of work and maintenance.

Hopefully, it's fixed by the time you read this, but Google Maps has the wrong location for this hotel if you search for "Comfort Inn, Philadelphia, PA." The hotel is located across a freeway from the historic district, so you're up for a bit of a hike from the nightlife or sights. The hotel does have a complementary shuttle into town, but you're on your own for getting back. You're also right up against a noisy freeway, so I suggest you request a room facing away from the freeway when you check in. Service was very good; facilities were what you'd expect from a two-star hotel.

This hotels is perfectly located if you're looking to spend alot of time near Market Street and the historic attractions that Philadelphia has to offer. Its a short was to many attractions. Also, if you use one of the trolley or sight seeing services that the city has to offer - there is a stop right at Penn's Landing. Very convenient. The hotel itself leaves alot to be desired. You have to pay for parking - which was pretty expensive, in my opinion, for what you get. You're basically self parking in a lot like you would find outside any hotel in any city. There are armed gates, but when we stayed there (over Labor Day weekend) that gates weren't working. They were open the entire time. There are also signs everywhere stating that because you're self parking, they aren't responsible for theft or damages. Pretty lame. The hotel room left a lot to be desired. The bathroom was old - especially the shower. It looked dirty, but I'm pretty sure it was just because it was so old. The bed was really old as well, and pretty uncomfortable. However, even with the bad, the hotel was worth what we paid. We saved at least $150 that weekend compared to other hotels in the area - even with the outrageous parking charge.

We wanted a location that was convenient access to 95 and near the historic district and center city and this hotel is just that. Maybe a little too close to 95 and and the bridge that goes over to Camden, NJ. We heard loud traffic noice all night long which we tried to drown out with running the AC but everytime it cycled off, you could really hear the traffic. The "river" side of the hotel may be quieter and I'd try that next time. Otherwise, we were very satisfied with the standards of the hotel and they do offer a very good complimentary breakfast with lots of choices. Beware of the extra parking fee that is on top of your room rate - $23 per day. Also, I noticed the shuttle was not running while we were there.

The shuttle was great to get around, just be cognisant of their hours. The rooms are on the older side, and the shower curtain was smaller than the shower, but otherwise clean. The neighborhood was okay, I felt very safe inside the hotel. I didn't use the parking lot, but it is secure for $23. No swimming pool. Breakfast was okay-waffles, muffins, doughnuts, cereal, juice, milk, yogurt, toast, and fruit.

Great location, good views if you get a high floor facing the water, and obviously nice and updated bathrooms. The bedrooms however are old and out dated, uncomfortable beds and cramped areas by the door. Also one of the two elevators broke down on your day to check out, and being on the top floor many people ended up waiting upwords of a half hour for an elevator while my guest and I ended up just hefting our stuff down the ten flights of stairs. They did comp one movie for the inconvenience but the inconvenience was inexcusable.

Reviews of the hotel said that it was in a noisy location being that it was next to highways. I didn't find it to be very loud and we were on the back side of the hotel facing the highway. Beds were extremly comfortable. Included breakfast was adequate. There were many people trying to fit into a small space to get their breakfast, though. Also staff was trying to keep up restocking items so we had to wait. Historic Philly was only a short walk away. Overall, I would recommend this hotel and stay there again.

The location is very walkable to the surrounding area with the Market St pedestrian bridge being right there. Our only issue with our stay was after we checked out. The hotel ran a hold on our debit card $150 (including a hold for the room we already paid for through hotels.com!) in excess of what they were entitled to and took 72 hours to release it. When we called the hotel to have it resolved, they blatantly refused to lift a finger instead insisting our bank call them to resolve the issue when they admitted it was a mistake to begin with. The take away here is to pay cash and NOT use a debit card for the parking.
