"Good hotel but terrible location (next to highway)"
The hotel is of the typical holiday inn standard but the location next to the highway makes the stay terrible. You cannot get a night's worth of peaceful sleep if your room faces the highway (the constant high speed motors passing). Also, on a busy day the breakfast room is too tiny to accommodate everybody and you have to jostle for your food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not a bad location but"
The exterior and parking system is wierd and the loading and unloading zone is small and confusing. The room I booked was ready when I arrived but the safe didn't work and neither did the aircondition, I figured something was up when the room number for my room was ripped off the wall. I called the front desk and maintainance man came and was very helpful […] and knowledgable about the safe and informing me that the safe was broken and that I would have to use the lock box at the front desk, then again after sweating in a room that was according to the aircondition at 67 degree I called the front desk again and was sent the same guy who again was very helpful and did the best he could but after he left the air conditioner stopped working again. At this point it was ridiculous so I called the front desk and ask for another room which they did give me without an issue. Both air condition and safe worked in this room. So I don't understand why I was not placed here in the first place. The hotel in general seems run down and the outside appearance aswell does not compliment it. The staff was very friendly and helpful. A big plus was a shuttle service between the hotel and nearby sights and restaurants. However, the shuttle dirver did not show up on Sunday afternoon..............but we walked home.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
the stay here was horrible first of all it was suppose to be parking free hotel instead I was charges 25 dollars a day to park and there wasn't enough parking for everybody I had to give my key to a parking attended and the cars in the lot was double parked lined up next to each other it was a messGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice area. Fair price."
Stayed here because of it's proximity to Old City and the historic district. The price was fair and the parking was decent. Strongly recommend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to sights - Noise level a little much"
The hotel staff was great, very friendly. The van service was also great. The noise not so much. I think this hotel should invest in some sound proofing. We had a room on the 95 side of the hotel and we could hear every car that drove by all night long. There were also several hotel guest who were in and out of their rooms through out the night so you […] could hear slamming of doors for hours and every time someone in the room next to us took a shower, you could hear them. We were only in the room when we were trying to sleep so the noise levels were a negative. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
While the hotel was very nice. The hotel charges you parking of $25.00 per day, per car. It was very expensive. Especially when the Hotel down the street was was $5.00 with your stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good place - BUT THEY SHOULD TELL YOU WHEN YOU BOOK THAT YOU HAVE TO PAY $25 EXTRA TO PARK YOUR CAR IN HOTEL LOT.... FOUND OUT AT THE FRONT DESK WHEN WE GOT THERE.....Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I've stayed here before but never stayed on the lower floors and will never again. It is noisy and the traffic noise was disturbing as was the air conditioning unit. It was loud!!!!! I booked a room with 1 king and got 2 queens.....my husband checked in 1st and didn't feel the need to change, even though he thinks "I" requested it since I make all the […] reservations. But I can say the view of the water and the bridge lights are spectacular. One thing we both don't like is the parking fee of $25. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Quick stay in Philly"
Booked this hotel for the location and the price. I was attending an event in old city and wanted to take the drive from jersey to Pennsylvania to avoid weekend traffic. This hotel is within walking distance to penn's landing, the great restaurants in Old City, and the historical sights. I would definitely book this hotel again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice enough in good location. Just around 10:30pm I heard a noise. Water was pouring out of the light fixture in the bathroom. I called the front desk, no answer. I went down to the front desk. seems maintenance went home at 10pm. Seems he expected the water to leak, was not excited did not check the room above mine for overflowing bathtub. He offered […] another room - I declined - but noted I'd be back if the water continued. after about an hour, it stopped. I had put a trashcan under the leak. filled about half way. So, it was a nice enough room. Just a bit concerned about the maintenance. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Location is a challenge especially for business travelers. Don't think booking info on website mentioned their shuttle but this was a great service to compensate for the non pedestrian friendly location at Penn's Landing. Rooms surprising large with nice furnishings for a Holiday Inn Express and breakfast offerings were varied and generous and included […] in rate quoted... Good value. Caution, for my August stay the first morning (tuesday) there was a tour group staying at hotel and generally it was standing room only for breakfast even though they have plenty of seating. Lobby couches were my destination in this case but there were no side tables to accommodate plates or coffee cups so it was a bit awkward. Best advice ... Get down to breakfast early if tour groups are in the house.. Did that and didn't have any problems next two mornings. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Under the interstate and near the subway. VERY LOUD! Air conditioner did not work. Not enough linens. the only good thing was there was a shuttle that would take you to visitor center but stopped services at 11am. so you had to catch a cab or bus back. I would not stay there again. "Great Location - Once they complete renovation"
The HEI Staff (Nick and All) are great. They renovation crew was less than helpful and courteous. Very nice location on the waterfront, will be a great location once the renovation is complete.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice enough for a quick visit"
The room was fine; breakfast room busy but plenty of space and good selection of food items. We were only there one night because I had an interview early the next morning. It was nice to be able to leave the car parked until 4pm and spend the rest of the day like tourists. I enjoyed my stay very much. Although breakfast was free, the spacing created long lines. Maybe having the to-be toasted items in a different area would help.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Standard Holiday inn"
You know what you are getting with this brand so not much to say really. But one criticism would be that the breakfast area was not big enough to accommodate, there were a number of people waiting around to find seats and tables.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"convenient to the old city historical sights"
We accomplished our itinerary of sightseeing because of the hotel location and appreciated the amenities of the shuttle bus, the variety of breakfast items and helpful, friendly staff. There is muffled traffic noise, but that was not a problem for us. It subsided after 11 p.m. It is located across from the waterfront where there is a park and felt safe […] to be walking for daytime or evening. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Relaxing, comfortable stay with great service"
I really enjoyed my stay, and I think this hotel is definitely a good buy for the area. The only setback I had in my experience was that after check in, I went to my room and housekeeping had obviously not yet been by. However, I went back to the front desk and let the front desk guy know, and he apologized profusely and gave me a free upgrade. I was […] in a nicer room about 3 minutes later. He was very kind and seemed genuinely irritated that this had happened to me. Otherwise, everything was great! It is quiet, and the parking is secure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

My hotel stay was quite enjoyable. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the free buffet breakfast. My one complaint our room was noisy. The Hotel staff was very accommodating and efficient. The location was suburb for foot travel to numerous art galleries and restaurants. "OK FOR A LOWER PRICED HOTEL"
TYPICAL HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. OUR ROOM WAS RIGHT BY THE ICE MACHINE AND THAT GOT VERY NOISY AROUND 1:30 A.M. PROBABLY SHOULD HAVE ASKED FOR ANOTHER ROOM BUT EVERYTHING ELSE WAS FINE. BRAKFAST WAS OK BUT WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER IF THE FOOD WAS WARMER.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very close to Historic Sites"
This hotel is close to all the historic Philadelphia sites. We were able to walk 5-10 minutes to reach all the sites we wanted to see. They offered a shuttle that was convenient and the driver was friendly. Breakfast was plentiful and offered a good variety. I reserved a room here because I love the Penns Landing area. I was given a room that was not prepared for a guest. I was then given another room that I entered that currently had a guest INSIDE! "Great Breakfast, but pay extra for parking?"
My overall stay was pretty good, the hotel was clean, and close to where I was visting for business. They offered a shuttle service free of charge to close places which was nice. There were two things I was not excited about, first being I couldn't get into the hotel until 4, I felt that was a little late and I ended up having to sit and wait in the […] car for the room to be ready. Second, we pay for the hotel room, why in the world would i have to pay a parking fee....at the hotel...for another $25. That was uncalled for in my opinion, I paid to stay at the hotel....did they think I walked there? But besides those the hotel was clean and had a lovely continental breakfast. "quick escape from reality..."
I live in South Philly but needed a one-night escape from reality so I booked a room at the Holiday Inn & it was excellent...great staff, clean, comfortable room, friendly environment...definitely worth staying there & I'll more than likely stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Everything great except parking"
The room was comfortable & clean, the staff were super nice, and the location was convenient (although the claim that it puts you walking distance to Independence Hall is only true if you are a good walker, & the nearby highway makes the immediate area less than ideal for walking). The complimentary breakfast buffet looked enticing but not allergy-safe […] so I can't tell you if it tasted as good as it looked. The only significant negative is that the hotel doesn't really have enough parking for the number of guests. They got around this by having the parking attendant park your car for you so he could use spaces that were not real spaces. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"horrible room between train and highway."
This is a bad hotel in a bad location. The parking is not included and the sound. Omg. It's so bad. I had to wear earplugs. It was so loud. I was on the second floor and was supposed to have a king bed. I had a queen and I could hear people talking at the bus stop out side my room. Yes really. It was bad. Stay somewhere else. "close to great outdoor bars!"
Location was great of hotels and the rooms were great. The only downfall was the $25 parking per night and the fact that the parking lot is so small that people were double parking and our car was blocked when it came time for us to leave.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Hotel was booked up , what a bad time to have one of the two elevators go out. Especially when it had to be shared by cleaning staff in the AM. Had to wait til nearly 6pm to get clean towels. Free Breakfast was good though.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
