Not one of your better Red Lion's that is for sure! So where do I start, the check in was very nice and friendly, so first impressions of inside was good, outside it doesn't look like a normal Red Lion, and after researching it appears it used to be a Howard Johnson inn. We felt that the bed didn't seem to be a Queen size, thought it was smaller then […] a normal Queen bed, and we were given a Handicap room- which had some big flaws if your not handicap, first the bathroom is the biggest issue, Whoever built the place clearly DID NOT use a level! Also the shower had no shower curtains which posed the following problem, since the room wasn't level the water didn't go in the drain like it should have! Instead it went to where the toilet is- so if you took a shower at night, and had to use the bathroom you were "walking on water" lol The bedsheet also was a joke IMO, it ended up on the floor as it sucked, and thankfully we had brought two of our own blankets which we ended up using instead. I stayed the night of a BIG snowstorm Feb. 9, 2014. The driver looped around to pick me up just a few minutes after I called for pickup at 12:30AM.. He was GREAT! I was in a wheelchair from the airport,and the staff couldn't have been nicer. "very close to the MEPS building"
I did not know that just because I booked through hotel.com that I was subjected to being in the back part of the hotel. This looked like old dorms or something. There were no elevators to these floors, it was either too hot or too cold and very thin walls. In the bathroom I did not have shampoo or conditioner and there was a half bottle of their lotion. […] Are your customers not worth a new bottle? The tub/shower was dirty, had been repaired a number of times, the tile grout was dirty and there was hair on the floor. DIRTY!!! I don't believe this hotel was worth my $80 and not even close to a 3 star hotel. If I wasn't so tired and needing to get up so early to see my son be sworn into the navy, I would have left and stayed somewhere else. I WILL NOT stay here again and my experience through hotel.com was not a good one. I wish there was a way to get my money back or at least 1/2 of it as it was to me a 1 star and I should of only paid 1/2 the price. "Close to airport."
Front Desk crew friendly. This is an old 2-story hotel taken over by Red Lion. Still needs work to be refurbished. My son, and I, had 2 rooms on the 2nd floor, one on each side of the stairwell in the center. I noticed that the metal railings on my side were not fastened too well into the wall, with the bolts most of the way out. The rooms were small […] and someone had left the heater, in my room, turned to 84. The king bed was very comfortable. In the morning, when I went to take a shower, I noticed that the bathtub was not cleaned properly. There was dirt, or dark spots, on top of the edge along the back wall, and a hair. Down by the door, along the back wall, the water pooled, causing the grout to be in disrepair, and mold. Other than that, the room was fine. Around 11PM, a dog started barking a couple rooms down from mine. People were yelling "Shut Up", to no avail. I called the Front Desk and was told they had received other calls and were trying to get a hold of the people that were supposed to be in that room. The room was clean but.....Our room was supposed to be a non-smoking and the STENCH of smoke everytime the heater started up was over whelming. Couldn't even sleep!!!! We had stayed at this same motel a few days earlier and were happy with the roominess for a king. This room was crowded ...much too small for a king. Same price for both rooms....Huh??? […] Not quite the same. The entrance at the end of the wing we were booked was poorly lit. As a woman alone I did not feel comfortable gaining access to the hallway in the dark. My husband would arrive later by shuttle from the airport. The room....headboard was abut to the laundry room. Much noise very early in the morning.
