It is ridiculous to pay $22.00/day for self parking in a parking structure and carry all of your luggage up and down stairs for check in and check out.And then the arm to let me out would not go up. I waited 15 minutes for someone to come and fix it so I could go to work - and be late! The room was very clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is in a great location - convenient to interstate and local attractions. One of my complaints with the hotel - they don't have free WiFi. Another complaint with our room was the A/C. It was not working totally and was loud. Almost no complaints with this hotel. Staff was great, room was great, and I always love the open atrium feel of Embassy Suites with its accompanying breakfast feast and Manager's Happy hour. The elevators were difficult to deal with. The hotel was busy that weekend, and of the 4 elevators, 3 of them were having intermittent problems. Waits were up […] to 15 minutes. We have stayed at the embassy suites several times, what attracts us to this hotel is that it is family friendly. This stay was kind of disappointing. Housekeeping never came and we came to a room full of dirty towels and trash. They didn't restock any of the items we ran out of like tissue and soap. I hate feeling like a burden so calling room service […] to ask for them to bring up towels and dispose of the trash is not something i like doing. "Construction, Elevator Noise, Lights Don't Work"
We arrived late, and went straight to bed. The air conditioning unit is extremely loud; however it does mask the sound of the elevators, which were right outside our room. The elevators create a sound somewhat like a loud wind tunnel. We were not told about the construction going on outside our window, and at 7:00 am on Saturday, we were woken by the […] sound of banging outside. There was a worker looking through the crack in the curtains of our window. Not a good start. That night, we arrived back at the hotel after a day of tourism, and found that our bathroom light would not go on. The light was not fixed before we left the hotel the following morning. There is no elevator in the parking lot so be prepared to haul luggage up a dirty staircase. The suite is spacious, but bring your own pillows if you like firmer pillows. One of the four elevators was broken, and there is no staircase from the second floor to the lobby-- so you have to take the elevators, which take a ridiculously long time to arrive despite the low traffic flow. Overall I like the location and the hotel. Rooms were nice, great breakfast but two things stopped me firm giving this hotel higher ratings. One is that the wifi service was horrible. Two different wifis, neither connected easily. When I finally got one to work it was $11.95 a day and then it was supposed to be free if you put your Hilton Honors # in […] which I did. It showed logged in and still wanted I charge me. I used my phone as a hotspot instead. That was 30 minutes of messing around. Second item was remote didn't work but that was secondary. Staff was very nice and location was convenient to my office. TVs in rooms were smaller than other hotels in the price range. The Hotel overall look is beautiful. The rooms themselves are a little older. Beware--they add approx. 20% per day to your bill for Parking in a detached structure with no elevator!!! TERRIBLE.I had to CARRY Large suitcases down flights of stairs. Other than that-it wasn't bad. Rooms were fairly clean and air conditioning worked well (evenly for both […] rooms of the suite). We had a wonderful family weekend! Planned it around the miramar air show festivities. Only a 10 minute drive from the hotel. In the other direction you have a 10-15 minute drive to the ocean. It was a wonderful location. Across the street from a mall with tons of shopping & dining options. From fast food to sit down fancy restaurants you have LOTS […] to chose from. Breakfast was included with the stay. Great food, kids loved it. Free evening snacks & drinks for adults & children. Fire pits & big screen tvs outside on the patio for relaxing. Indoor pool, small but was enough for my 6 year old to have fun & cool off in. Room was clean & nice. Had all the amenities we were looking for. (microwave, mini fridge, two tv's, couch that turned into a bed, desk with chairs) Plenty of room for this family of 5. ONLY thing I can complain about is the $22 a night parking fee. I do not think hotels should ever make guests pay to park. But all in all we had a wonderful stay at this hotel & I would def recommend it to all. (business or pleasure, family or alone). I used a baby sitter agency that they recommended. I was really nervous about doing this since it was my first time. Marions child care awesome. Now back to the Hotel. I try and find an Embassy Suite where ever I go since I already know the rooms will be clean and the free breakfast will be amazing. We had an oversized truck that wouldn't fit in the garage so we asked for an oversized parking spot. With out a smile or sure she said that will be $22.00.
