Geneva’s centre is full of cobblestoned streets, flower-decked fountains, and shuttered grey-stone houses. Museums, boutiques, bistros, and archaeological sights cluster around Place du Bourg-de-Four and the nearby Cathedral St Pierre. The neighbouring church is the Temple de l’Auditoire. The 14th-century Maison Tavel, Geneva’s oldest house, contains a local history museum.

Hotel Epsom is the place that you absolutely want to stay in Geneva. It's really convenient to go to main tain station and the lake Geneva. Especially Lake Geneva is just 2minutes walking distance. Hotel service and the facitlites are the one of the best. clean and pretty big size of the room also the big point. The Hotel staffs are very nice and kind. It really proved that Switzerland is not only the best place to live but also the best place to visit.

Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about the quality of my stay at this hotel. The room was very modern and clean; the bed comfortable and the room temperature could be set to personal preference (not something which can be performed at many hotels within Europe). The breakfast was typical of most hotels, continental with some hot items. The concierge and front desk were extremely helpful in recommending day trips and calling for Taxi service. The only drawback I would cite is the location of the hotel in proximity to the main parts of downtown Geneva and many of it's central attractions (Old part of Geneva, Parc de la Grange, shopping, etc.). You can walk to many of these areas, however, it is about a 25 - 30 minute walk. You can also use public transportation - tram or bus.

My flight from ORD was canceled in a day when ~ 100 flights were canceled, pushing my arrival in Geneva back one day. I immediately phoned Hotel Epsom, and was assured by the young woman at the desk that my Sunday night reservation was good for Monday night at the same rate. "No problem", she said. Upon arrival, the reception told me that the Monday rate was the rack, or full, rate. After some considerable discussion, he did knock that down slightly. Given the time and a conference in town I had little choice but to accept their offer, and ended up paying 2.6 time what I had though I was to pay. I was still out a sizable sum as I had two rooms for my family. Reception, though courteous, was repeatedly confused, thinking I'd booked via another travel site, and showed little willingness to accept responsibility for the situation they put my family in. From this experience I conclude that either reception is very poorly trained, or they cannot be trusted, or both. In short, you may get a good quality hotel at a bargain. If anything goes wrong, they will clean out your wallet w/ a smile on their face.

Booked this for a weekend break with girlfriend. Hotel in very good condition, staff very helpful, all extremely clean (hotel and staff) and the room was very good. Didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on food, though restaurant looked very clean, smart and tempting, and nice bar area. Fitness room looked good, but no pool. Only disappointment is the location, about 25 minute walk to the centre of Geneva, and local area doesn't have a 'safe' feel about it, though we had no issues at all. Got caught out paying 20 francs in taxi to go from station to hotel, about 4 minutes traffic permitting, and most of that was queuing time to get out of the station car park! Had I looked at a map before hand, its only a 10 minute stroll and we did head back on foot. (Ok, I guess if you're travelling light.) You can't see the lake from the hotel its a few minutes stroll but nice and flat. Travel pass for the city included in your room rate, but not breakfast, though they did provide us with 50% off breakfast vouchers (usually 30 Swiss Francs - ouch). Be aware that there is a City Tax added to your bill on departure based on the length of stay. 3.60 F per night (about £2) each. Overall a very nice hotel.

Chose this hotel having read previous reviews. Decided to pay the expensive rate because of positive comments. We could hear traffic noise from our first floor room but it did quieten at night. Did not take breakfast due to price. Room well equipped. Nice toiletries, replenished, pleasant bathroom with bath and good shower. comfortable bed. Good location for exploring lakeside and botanics.

The Epsom is great. The only complaint I have is that the AC wasn't working when we were there and it was a little hot. The restaurant was very good. Many complain about the neighborhood - near the red light area. It is, but turn right exiting the hotel (which is in a quiet spot) and you never see the red light district. I would definitely stay there again.

Me and a colleague were both booked here, we had rooms which were always way too hot. They were at least 85 degrees through the night. I complained several times, but nothing was done. Since I was staying on business the internet is very important to me in order to work, the internet connection is awful, and hardly works. This was experienced by myself and my colleague. Its probably the worst internet connection in a hotel I have seen.

The Epsom was a great hotel! Very clean and helpful staff. Our room was especially nice and clean as well. The hotel is in the Paquis district, which is the young and some would say "hippie" area. But it's not that far of a walk to downtown/oldtown area of Geneva. The hotel restaurant was also great! Great service and the food was spectacular! We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed longer!

Great find in a very expensive city. Hotel was bigger and much nicer than I expected (even from seeing pic on the web). Lovely lobby, conducive to just relaxing and/or meeting up with people. Very nice room. Great TV. Nicely appointed bathroom, including slippers. Conveniently located to various public transportation (which is free with card they give you!), but is near a small red light district, as others have mentioned. Recommend walking on major street one block away to get to hotel at night.

Good value for money when comparing the quality of the hotel for the price charged. The rooms were large, modern and clean - staff are very friendly and efficient. The hotel is close to the Geneva Railway station and the lake. The only thing I did not like about the hotel is that it is a little hard to find, especially if you are new to the city. The given address does not correspond to the actual street address. Secondly the neighborhood is not very nice. Other than that, my stay at this hotel was great.

A/C didn't work well at first, but after I brought it to their attention, it was fixed and worked well. 6. I travel to Geneva 1-2 times per year. I've stayed at Hilton (now Kempinski), President Wilson, and Carlton (now closed). Also have stayed at Residence in Ferney. I really liked the Epsom, and it will be my preferred hotel for future trips.

The hotel is a couple of blocks from Lake Geneva and very expensive hotels. All hotels provide guests with transportation passes that gives you free rides on the very efficient street cars and buses. The #13 and #15 street car stop is only a block away and it is only two stops from the main train station. Take the train from the airport to the main Geneva station it is only 3CHF. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Free Wifi service in the rooms. The buffet breakfast was expensive so I went to the local bakery a block away for a coffee and pastry. The Hotel was at the edge of the red light district where prostitution is legal. There is a strip club a block away, and children walk the streets at 8am to go to school. I felt very safe in the neighborhood day and night. Overall I had a very good experience.
