The room had a microwave, fridge and coffee maker. Not a pot, pan, plate, dish, kinife, fork or glass to be found. I have stayed other extended stay hotels/motels which were set up for you to cook and eat so this was not what I was expecting or used to. I suspect the room used to be a smoking room and the smell was quite unpleasant. The maid whistled […] through in 5 minutes each day (I was there) and sprayed air freshener as she left. The sink was plugged up when I arrive but they did send someone up to clear it. Tub florr was cracked and I suspect it was leaking down below. I am not likely to stay again. 1 week was enough. Extended Stay was a very basic accommodation. Service was so-so (not great). Not much in the way of amenities. Location is on Richmond Road -- so good if that part of town is your goal. Beds were among the most uncomfortable I've seen in a hotel. Bring your own towels and toiletries as those provided are absolutely minimal.

I have stayed at this hotel 4 times now and every time I have been pleased with my stay. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are always clean. It is a wonderful place to stay for any length of time. I visit the area 3 to 4 times a year and will stay here each time. I highly recommend.

I had made a reservation for 4 adults in a non smoking double room. We had 1 towel, 1 bar of soap and 1 shampoo. Since 3 of us were women, I asked and was given more amenities. We were looking for "extended stay" accomodations. In our experience,that description is pretty specific...it means a kitchen area with stovetop, refrigerator w/freezer area, microwave along with dishes, flatware, pots/pans,glassware. Much to our surprise ours was a standard sized motel room--with a large domestic refrigerator!..no utensils, stovetop, […] nothing...and a broken round table for "dining" that really could not be used. For whatever reasons our room was not attended to while we were gone all day doing business. We arrived late that evening to unmade beds, etc. No coffee packets,etc.. Very poor attention to detail on the part of managemnt. . We mentioned this to the office, they responded with gracious apologies and gave us towels, coffee packets etc. for the next day. We appreciated the ongoing graciousness and friendliness of the management, however that doesn't cover up poor attention to detail and descriptions of kind of hotel that is not accurate. Nevertheless our beds were fine, exhausted from the day'swork...we slept well. There is nothing fancy about the Bluegrass Extended Stay, but if you simply need an inexpensive place to stay for a night or two, it's a good bet. The people working the front desk were very friendly, the coffee and donuts available in the morning were surprisingly good, and the neighborhood the hotel is situated in felt very safe. (Right next to a […] Starbucks too!) Best of all, the hotel is convenient to driving into downtown Lexington. Drawbacks: the beds were uncomfortable, our room was connected by a locked door to the next room (and our neighbors were loud), the bathroom was not as clean as it should have been, and only two small towels were provided. Not a bad place to stay for a few nights. No bells and whistles, but good housekeeping and fairly quiet nights. Close to UK and on the main road leading into downtown. WiFi is fair meaning you'll get a connection, but it may cut out once and a while. Plenty of grocery and fast food, plus a Starbucks accross the street.

The staff was very unhelpful not knowing the community activities, tickets, discounts, food...nothing. The rooms were set up for workers, and not kept up. Would never stay here again.

I do like the hotel I stayed at and the location. I didn't like the fact that the maids didn't pull my sheets when they made my bed. The beds are small and lumpy and the pillows are tooo flat. At first, I thought I was going to be severely disappointed. Why? Because when I booked the room via Hotels.com, there was only 1 room left and it was a smoking room (I'm a non-smoker). But after seeing that another hotel had the same amenities I was looking for for 4x the price, I decided to book the last room at the Bluegrass Extended Stay. Things […] got better when I arrived there the next day and learned that they had many non-smoking rooms available. So I was able to enjoy my stay there without any additional problems. My room did not have a full kitchenette though - only a full-size fridge/freezer and microwave (no kitchen sink, stove, or oven). But that is definitely better than nothing at all. I think it should be noted that the bathroom sink appeared to be quite low for a person of my stature (over 6 feet tall) - having the sink be at roughly above my knees. Perhaps it was built with the thought of accommodating much shorter people. Anyways, no bed bugs or spiders to worry about, no filthy carpets, and no noisy neighbors. For those of you who like to watch TV - I did not manage to find any premium cable channels (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, etc.). I did not get a chance to sample their breakfast either as I prefer cold sandwiches to hot doughnuts. Read more

For the price this hotel was adequate. The handicapped bathroom was one of the best we've had. Most places use bars only and call it handicapped, but this one was equipped for a wheel chair with a lowered sink and rack to hang clothes. That was a plus. Coffee, hot water for tea were available as were donuts in the mornings for their continental breakfast. The clock radio in our room did not work and the lamps were a bit shaky on the nightstands.
