Hotel was in a great location to us. There is plenty of restaraunts and shopping close by. Very close to the 407 and other main roads. Was dissapointed when we got to our room. We had requested a King but ended up with two double beds. We notified the main desk and was told there were no King beds available. The room was nice however there were small things that just added up to dissapointment. Asked for a late check out, were told that it would cost another 58 dollars for that. We made one local phone call, that cost 1.45! The room was clean but not great. Hair in the bathtub, dirt on the bathroom floor ect. The hotel was very busy with a confrence while we were there, however there was plenty of free parking in their parking garage.

"Nice hotel, right downtown"Reviewed by Steve of "Collingwood ON" on Jan 30, 2012
The hotel was clean enough and conveniently located right down town, near to the subway. Parking was very expensive compared to other loaclly available options (i.e. "green P").

you SHOULDN'T have two hotels with the same name in the same city!! We were very disappointed that we had to wait for the hotel bus to take us to the wrong hotel and then had to take a 40.00$ taxi to the right one.The hotel was Four Points by Sheriton but Dixie road. I happened to get Frost bite on my big toe because of all the waiting and travelling. We had just arrived back from Mexico and had no closed shoes or boots. Not fun.Th hotel itself was great but do we want the inconvience again probably not....

"Disappointing stay"
Stayed there for one night before Christmas. Our room was clean and well maintained, however our headboard shook because the ice machine was plugged in on the otherside of the wall. We asked to move and were promptly moved to another room. Unfortunately, we later discovered that the floor was occupied by a large group of male teens from out of town […] attending the hockey game. The shouting, screaming and banging of doors by drunken teenagers kept us awake until 4:40 am. I suppose you could say we were unlucky to stay on the same night as a hockey game, but I suspect it is the" same as usual" on all hockey nights as security did nothing to control the disturbance. Unfortunately during my stay the city was doing sewer work across the street and had to turn off the water to the hotel. I know it is not the fault of the hotel but they also did nothing to inform myself or any of the guests that this would be hapening nor did they offer to do anything to discount my stay or even appologize for any inconvenience. Not […] being able to take a shower or even brush my teeth in the morning was not a very good way to start my day. Read more
"Novotel Toronto Centre"
Overall a great spot and very nice hotel. Dissappointed that parking was extra. Rooms need TV upgrade.
"Novotel Toronto Centre"
We had a great stay here. Went to see a Maple Leaf game, within walking distance of the ACC. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable. Will be back.
"Novotel Hotel - Toronto Downtown"
No new updated furniture or decorations. View from the window was the wall of a building. Very close to downtown Toronto Club District and many excellent restuaraunts.
"new years"
Had a great experience at this hotel. We went for the night during New Years, the staff were extremely friendly, approachable and quick with checkouts (as there was a long line). I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to friends and family! Great atmosphere, clean rooms, VERY comfortable bedding and just added a great bonus to an amazing new years in […] toronto!! Read more

"Ask about Hockey Tournaments"
What a disappointment our stay at Novotel was, this time. Novotel has been our hotel of choice, when visiting Toronto over the past 10 years. This was our second stay on a New Year's Eve but may well be our last. The hotel is conveniently located, although there is a great deal of construction around the hotel right now. The rooms are comfortable, […] with good quality matresses, pillows and bed linens. Unfortunately, on this stay there was a hockey tournament in Toronto. We had to contend with a floor full of 17 year olds running up and down the halls, cursing and swearing and throwing things at each other until 4am. Calls to the front desk did nothing to remedy the problem. The front desk staff were full of apologies and sent up security but once security left the floor, mayhem reigned, again. Apparently, the hotel was full so they couldn't even move us to another room. We made our reservation back in mid-October. No mention was made, at that time, that the hotel would be full of teen hockey teams. No effort was made to supervise these young guests and no security measures appear to have been in place to handle the situation. It also appears that no one had the good sense to block rooms on separate floors for the teen guests and those of us who wanted to enjoy a New Years Eve get-away. This stay fell way short of the standard we have come to enjoy at Novotel. How unfortunate! Read more

"Fees"
I was a little taken a backl that they would charge to make a local phone call. I thought that was The slap on the face on your way out
"Great lobby...wish we could have slept there"
Fantastic entrance and lobby area and hallways and pleasant staff . Why the hotel would go on the cheap in the rooms is beyond me ( think uninspiring college dorm) and a television from the mid 1990's. Renovate the rooms before the common areas!!
"Hotel is fine"
1. Construction on street was outside of room. Construction starts at 6 A.M. No need to set alarms. 2. A sign inside bost's the company is in the top 50 employers, There was a gathering of people outside the Hotel, microphones, chanting etc. they did not feel the same way ?
"Novotel Toronto - good value"
The Novotel Toronto is well located in the theater district, close to the train and subway system and easy walking distance to many restaraunts and shopping. There is construction in the area but that should be completed sometime in 2011 or early 2012. The only complaint is that the room was cold but the hotel provided a space heater on request. The […] staff is friendly. The hotel seems to be secure with access to the elevators controlled by the room keys Read more
location is convenient but hotel room is old and needs refreshing. Doors do not reach the floor so noise gets through very easily.

"Wedding Weekend"
Location was perfect for walking about downtown. Prior to our arrival I requested a change to our room so that our daughter could stay with us. No problem and no extra charge! Staff are courteous and helpful. The only drawback is that Toronto has never-ending construction and even though it is outside the hotel, the sound-proofing of the hotel is quite […] adequate for one to enjoy their stay. The wedding nearby was terrific and the other members who were also staying at the hotel enjoyed the Novotel on L'Esplanade. Be prepared to pay extra for your parking but everywhere charges you for parking now. Cabs are plentiful and not too costly. Had a great time--- thanks Novotel! Read more
"Novatel in Toronto"
Everything in the hotel and restaurant is perfect. Food and service and room is great and it is within walking distance of the arts district. We have been coming for years and one of our favourite places to meet was the cozy bar area. I really do not like what they have done there. The furniture is too modern and not at all cozy as it used to be with […] the lovely leather chairs. Etc. Read more

We had stayed there one time before and we liked it very mich. The food in the restaurant was very good and the service was excellent. The check-in service was also excellent and we will probably stay there again next year.

"Construction"
During my stay at this Hotel, there was construction taking place in the lobby, and in the roundabout just outside the hotel. I was woken up at 7:30am to very loud banging noises, and eventually to the sound of a jackhammer. I was staying on the fifth floor, and when I called down to complain, I was told that it was "Strange that I would hear it all […] the way up there". While checking out that morning I mentioned my disappointment to the man at the concierge desk, he shrugged his shoulder and told us to have a nice day. If my concerns had been taken seriously, my stay would have been much nicer. The overall appearance of the hotel was nice, and our room was very clean. However, the customer service was definitely lacking. Read more

"Centrally located for our needs"
Enjoyed our stay. Clean room and comfortable bed. The renovations (construction) in the lobby area was isolated from our room. Friendly staff.
"Novotel Toronto Centre"
Great location! Quiet even with all the Buskerfest activities in the neighborhood. Great parking too.
"Downtown Toronto Novotel"

"Novotel Toronto Centre- A Mixed Bag"
On a positive note, the hotel was very generous about cancelling one night of our 2 night stay when we contacted them a couple of weeks before our stay. This isn't a common courtesy, so we have to say thank-you very much for that. This hotel was the host hotel for the race I was in, and they had the convenience of a bus to shuttle those people involved […] in the race to and from the event. Thanks... was an awesome thing for them to do!! Room was very clean, but I have to say this is the first time we've ever stayed anywhere where we've had to basically make our own bed (it had the fitted sheet and the duvet/bedspread on it... the top sheet and blanket were in the closet). We stayed at the end of August, and the room's air conditioning didn't seem to be working correctly... just seemed like a fan blowing air instead... so the room was rather warm that night, and therefore didn't get the best night's sleep. We realized the following night around 7pm (of the day we had checked out) that we had left an item in the closet in the room. Called the hotel and they said that they would connect us with housekeeping so they could check the lost and found. Turns out that housekeeping goes home at 6pm, and therefore there was no way they could check for our item. Looks like our loss, since we were leaving the city right around that time. Read more

"Air conditioner, Room view, parking fees"
The air conditioner was very low not cool enough and we were very disappointed with the view ...a parking garage, but the staff was great and the breakfast buffet was excellent. Fantastic location- right near the water and by St Lawrence market. Lovely big rooms with very clean and comfortable beds. Definitely recommend it.
"Novotel Toronto Hotel Centre"
This hotel had friendly staff and very helpful. It had a great location for being only a stone's throw away from the CN tower, the Roger's Centre and had really good restaurants to choose from that are across the street. I'd definitely stay here again!
"esplanode"
We have stayed before and it was so much better before. 1, Our room was not cleaned at all we came back at 5pm still not cleaned. 2. At breakfast there was a dead fly and some sort of yellow stain beside it on my coffee cup plate real gross. 3. "novotel toronto downtown the esplanade"
Beautiful clasic building. Rooms, very coozy, and decorate at the latest fashion. Staff very friendly, very professional!. Really good safety box, easy to use in the room. At the cafe, the waiters will go out of there way to give you whatever you need! I will defently stay there again!
"Novotel - Toronto, Centre"
Nice hotel in a great location. TV very outdated and the coffee maker was extremely slow. Both need to be replaced.
Pros: Hotel was nice, comfortable beds and nice resturant. Cons: parking was not included in the cost of the room (was an extra $30/per night), when checking in because we had 2 extra people stay with us, they explained an extra charge would be applied (which ended up being an extra $50/PER NIGHT!) and when speaking to hotel clerk regarding these extra […] charges they were not the nicest to deal with. "Novotel Toronto"
The Novotel is an excellent hotel for the price. The room was ready, clean, and comfortable. The small indoor pool and jacuzzi provided nearly private relaxation in the evening. All types of eateries are in abundance as soon as one leaves the hotel. The Hockey Hall of Fame and underground mall are a short walk. There is lots of construction in the immediate […] surrounding area. Parking in the hotel garage is expensive, but rates at the public lots are not much better. Should we return to Toronto, we would most likely stay at the Novotel again. Read more
"Novotel Centre Toronto"
Listed as a 3.5 star, I was very unimpressed. I would say a 2.5. The bed squeeked, there was a shortage of hot water in the evening, the internet was dial-up speed at best and I kept getting kicked off of it. It did have a good weight room and nice pool, but the hot tub would shut off after just 5 minutes and took at least 3 presses of a button 15 feet […] from the hottub to get it to restart. It was extremely frustrating! Staff was not very helpful with any of the problems. Read more

"Easter Weekend @ the Novotel"
For our purposes the hotel was in a perfect location. It was withing walking distance of the theatre district, the Rogers Centre for baseball games, Yonge St and the St. Lawrence Market and distillery district for shopping. The hotel staff are very pleasant and service oriented. We didn't eat at the hotel so I can't comment on the restaurant. The only […] complaint I have is that the WIFI internet access performance in the room was inconsistent. Some times it was so slow it reminded me of dial-up, only slower, and other times it was passable. In general though the internet access in the room is not up to standard. Read more

Over all the hotel was clean, I was unhappy when the said there was a charge for each local phone call I made, and housekeeping opened my door at 9am without even knocking!
