"great stay"
My wife said the bed was the best she had ever slept in at a hotel. The room was very nice and good size. They need to update the TV's to flat screen with better reception. Across the street were some really nice restaurants.easy access from the Lakeshore and very close to St Lawrence Market (well worth a visit), the Sony Centre, and the St Lawrence […] Centre for the Arts.....great location. Breakfast pricey so we ate one block north at Fran's which is a Toronto institution for food.Parking pricey at $23 but it is convenients. You can park next door cheaper but it doesn't look as secure. "Stuffy room, party across the hall!!"
Excellent location, very convenient, very clean rooms and public areas. I thought the previous reviews were exaggerating the stuffiness of the rooms- they weren't!! AC didn't really do much at all, wouldn't go below 75 and no fan in bathroom so if you shower room is hot and humid for the rest of your stay... also, the second night I was there, there […] was a teenaged party across the hall at 2 am with about 30 kids in the room.... not the hotel's fault, but it took over an hour from the time I called the front desk for the security to show up and get them to quiet down. Good place to stay if you want to party.. No one bothered us. AC didn't work

Good hotel, they need to check with parking about registering license plates of guests so you don't get parking tickets though. Comfortable stay and very close to the ACC, great.
"Close to all areas we needed to go"

"5 Minute walk to the ACC"
We had a great stay. Love the fact that kids get free breakfast. Rooms were very nice and clean. Very comfortable big rooms.
it was really good but room wasnt ready at 300 had to take a no smoking room just as well would go again close to everything thanks alot
"great location"
it was great!
"Less than 10-Min Walk to ACC"
Stayed overnight for a concert at Air Canada Centre at was pleased with how close it was. Less than a 10 min walk. Don't really have any complaints other than it would be nice if there was a microwave in the room. Could have done without the fully stocked, weight sensitive bar fridge and traded it in for an empty useable one instead as well.
"Good location seen what we wanted to see ."
Good but was disappointed with the dinner,my steak was so tough and the mushroom sauce was terrible, bread and dessert was good.breakfast buffet was good but plates should be heated as by the time you sit everything is cold.
Lets start with room was not ready ice machine on the floor was broke smoking room with no ashtray and windows would not open for fresh air hotel clerk was rude

"Novotel for Nickelback weekend!"
The staff and the service at the Novotel were excellent. As it was not busy, we were able to get an earlier check-in and a late check-out the next day. Fantastic location, so much to do, St. Lawrence Market a block away, restaurants, night life - this is the place to go!
"Construction nearby, disruptive and noisy"
Service was poor, not friendly hotel employees.

"Great location, decent value...but that's it !"
Me and my wife traveled to Toronto for three days in the middle of April. First of all, for those looking for a decent rate while you are sleeping downtown, then consider this one. By nature I am tough to disappoint, I find positive everywhere. Location is the greatest asset of this hotel, being a couple of blocks away from everything you want to find […] downtown TO. And if you need to leave the major attractions to go farter, a subway station is also pretty close to the hotel. However, having said that, even tough my room seemed to be clean (found long hairs in the bath and around the toilet, but that's all), furniture looked old and not in great condition. It was also crazy hot in the room, a sauna really ! When I came down to ask the front desk (my phone was not working !!!) what I could do, they just told me they were sorry, the AC system was not on yet. The guy even told me to stop the automatic fan for 15 minutes and then start it back. When I asked him why I'd do that, he just told me the AC was off....he realized that he was going nowhere and finally said he was sorry...Also, be ready to pay big bucks for their parking. I found it was probably the most expensive rate in the city ! Read more

"This hotel is going downhill"
I have stayed at this hotel previously and the room was clean and comfortable. This particular stay was disappointing. The hotel elected to replace/service the air conditioning during this time (mid April). As a result the rooms were stiflingly hot. There was no cooling options and my thermostat read 82. (stale air as windows don't open) This is not […] acceptable. A basic function of a room should have a bed and the ability to control the temperature. I did not sleep and was tired and irritable during my workdays on the subsequent days. The room while not filthy was shabby. Stains on tile and floor grout, the carpet were apparent. The television was an old tube model with a dirty remote. The front desk staff was pleasant and very helpful. They tried to make my stay as comfortable as they could under the circumstances, but unfortunately changing rooms and trying to source fans (none available) didn't help. Read more

"Novotel Toronto great location"
Appart from the non working toilet that I had to flush 3 times to work properly and the room cleaning that took place at 5:30PM (when I got to my room) the stay was perfect: quiet and extremely convenient location, friendly staff, well equipped room... I would love to stay there again!
The room was very hot and the temperature control did not help to cool the room down
"Novotel in Downtown Toronto"
Great proximity to St. Lawrence Market, a range of restaurants, ACC, Union Station, and Hockey Hall of Fame. The room was great; clean and comfortable is all I expect. The only complaint I have is that the reception area seemed to be understaffed most of the time.

"Novotel Toronto Center-awesome stay"
Our stay was excellent. The staff very friendly. Very clean hotel. Would recommend this hotel to any one wanting to stay in the down town core.
I would highly recommend Novotel, to friends and family, parking rate is a bit high. The only thing that I noticed is the room smelled like cigerettes, my system is very senstivie to cigerettes, but Im not complaining only next time, I would make sure that I got a non smoking room. The young French man at the front desk, very friendly and good customer […] service, he was working when we checked in. The children loved getting the elephants. Read more
"Novotel- downtown"
THe location of the hotel is excellent. The room service and restaurant staff and food were very good and helpful. The actual room was hot and stuffy and smelt like stale smoke even though it was a non-smoking room. The room itself was a little run-down and basic but clean. THe internet, although free, was difficult to set up and we required help even […] though we followed the steps, this took a while. The pool temperature was warm but too much chlorine and the hot tub was way too hot. Read more
"good staÝ"
My family stayed at Novotel for 1 night. Lobby is modern, staff friendly, rooms clean but dated (older furniture and TV's). The toilet regularly sounded like it was running which was a bit noisy. Took kids swimming - pool was OK - a bit small and just one depth. Proximity of hotel was great for us as we walked to hockey hall of fame. Lots of restaurants […] and pubs across street. Overall good experience and we would return. Read more

"Disappointing stay"
Stayed there for one night before Christmas. Our room was clean and well maintained, however our headboard shook because the ice machine was plugged in on the otherside of the wall. We asked to move and were promptly moved to another room. Unfortunately, we later discovered that the floor was occupied by a large group of male teens from out of town […] attending the hockey game. The shouting, screaming and banging of doors by drunken teenagers kept us awake until 4:40 am. I suppose you could say we were unlucky to stay on the same night as a hockey game, but I suspect it is the" same as usual" on all hockey nights as security did nothing to control the disturbance. Unfortunately during my stay the city was doing sewer work across the street and had to turn off the water to the hotel. I know it is not the fault of the hotel but they also did nothing to inform myself or any of the guests that this would be hapening nor did they offer to do anything to discount my stay or even appologize for any inconvenience. Not […] being able to take a shower or even brush my teeth in the morning was not a very good way to start my day. Read more
"Novotel Toronto Centre"
Overall a great spot and very nice hotel. Dissappointed that parking was extra. Rooms need TV upgrade.
"Novotel Toronto Centre"
We had a great stay here. Went to see a Maple Leaf game, within walking distance of the ACC. Hotel was clean, beds comfortable. Will be back.
"Novotel Hotel - Toronto Downtown"
No new updated furniture or decorations. View from the window was the wall of a building. Very close to downtown Toronto Club District and many excellent restuaraunts.
"new years"
Had a great experience at this hotel. We went for the night during New Years, the staff were extremely friendly, approachable and quick with checkouts (as there was a long line). I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel to friends and family! Great atmosphere, clean rooms, VERY comfortable bedding and just added a great bonus to an amazing new years in […] toronto!! Read more

"Ask about Hockey Tournaments"
What a disappointment our stay at Novotel was, this time. Novotel has been our hotel of choice, when visiting Toronto over the past 10 years. This was our second stay on a New Year's Eve but may well be our last. The hotel is conveniently located, although there is a great deal of construction around the hotel right now. The rooms are comfortable, […] with good quality matresses, pillows and bed linens. Unfortunately, on this stay there was a hockey tournament in Toronto. We had to contend with a floor full of 17 year olds running up and down the halls, cursing and swearing and throwing things at each other until 4am. Calls to the front desk did nothing to remedy the problem. The front desk staff were full of apologies and sent up security but once security left the floor, mayhem reigned, again. Apparently, the hotel was full so they couldn't even move us to another room. We made our reservation back in mid-October. No mention was made, at that time, that the hotel would be full of teen hockey teams. No effort was made to supervise these young guests and no security measures appear to have been in place to handle the situation. It also appears that no one had the good sense to block rooms on separate floors for the teen guests and those of us who wanted to enjoy a New Years Eve get-away. This stay fell way short of the standard we have come to enjoy at Novotel. How unfortunate! Read more
