Ramada Kansas City Hotel and Conference Center

The room was nice. The location was close to the casinos. Staff was friendly and helpful. Only down side was the party going on in the conference room. The music was so loud it was vibrating our room until about 2 am. I might use it again for the price.

I was not at all happy when the restaurant/bar closed at 8:00 p.m. We checked in after a long day and wanted to eat at the hotel. The restaurant/bar closed early because they didn't have enough help. We had to change rooms because the TV didn't work. The second room, a no smoking room, smelled of smoke and the smoke alarm and a shower cap covering it. […] Obviously, the previous guest had smoked in the room. The shower curtain was held in place by an ink pen. I reported all of this to the front desk the next morning. The clerk said that she would make a report, she made no other inquiry of my stay. The staff was very helpful and you can't beat the price. Keep in mind that this hotel was in the first phase of renovation. I never heard any loud noises coming from the construction. I can see that this could be a very nice place once they've addressed and updated many of the hotels features. We were surprised to see the con x event at this hotel. I had two youth with me so they enjoyed the event. BUT there was evening events scheduled right out sided my room. The noise disturbed my much needed sleep. The room smelled very musty when we entered it. There was no no one at the front desk when I wanted to check out. Although the staff was very friendly, the room was dirty, we found old noodles by the bed & a beer tab by the chair. The beds were comfortable but man the rustling of the sheets and blankets were sooo loud! The bar at the hotel stayed open til 3a.m. and there was loud music playing and it was hard to sleep through that. And also the 'heated' pool wasn't […] being heated. It was freezing. Roof was leaking inside on the 1st floor. Trash cans in the middle of the hallway to stop the water from getting on the floor. Mold on the outside of the building. Plastic traps outside all around the building. The band could be heard across the bulding on the 4th floor. Good hotel but not a 100% happy.

Had a hard time finding the hotel and we booked with them because it said free wifi and breakfast. Well we paid the extra money and nether of those were true. The room wasn't bad but the carpets were dirty. We wanted a pet friendly hotel with King size bed and ended up with two uncomfortable double beds. The wifi didn't work and when I call I was told […] they reset the modem 3hrs ago and it was because of the setting on my ipad and my laptop. I instructed them that I could connect to the router but not the internet. Finally, they told us breakfast is ready at 6am and when we went down at 6:50 they told us the lady that does breakfast is late and there is no breakfast. WOW really that is what you call A horrible Management team, to depend on 1 person to provide the service that they said they have is wrong. Finally at 7 i was told the engineer would be in to reset the wifi and when i went back up to the front at 8am they instructed me that they were just going to call someone at 9 and at 9 they told me again it was my problem that there was working. I told them this was the 30th hotel that I have stayed in this year and have never had this problem. I finally went over to McDonald to get breakfast and use there wifi and wouldn't you know it, the internet worked there. Now I know why the hotel was empty and it SHOULD NOT be ratted a 3.5 star maybe a 2 star. Read more

We could hear music from the loung till 3 am and it was very loud making it difficult to get a good sleep. Also other patrons at the hotel were not mindful of their behavior; there was yelling and fighting both nights we were there. The room it self was okay.

Booked this hotel as a last minute deal & saved 40%. We had wanted to keep staying at the Hyatt by the airport but the rates went up so we booked this hotel for the last night of our trip after we decided to stay in KC one more day. The hotel is in the middle of nowhere and looks like it's stuck in the 70s. I'm sure it was amazing then. Hotel was not well kept and seemed very run down. 1st room was moldy, second room no a/c, third room no tv, finally fourth room was tolerable. Walls cracked, ceilings falling, fitness room unkept, wash room horrible. Smelled like old moldy hotel. Staff not always at front desk, very little help. This hotel should be closed.

Hotel is under construction. Power went out in the early morning some time and none yet at check out. No a/c, no lights, no elevators, and abrasive staff made for a miserable stay. Couldn't even get anyone to help us down the disgustingly filthy stairwell with all of our luggage. What a dump.

Not the most amazing hotel but it is clean and the rooms are nice and spacious. My wife and I were very pleased with our stay here. The location is probably it's biggest downside-it is in an industrial area so the view out your window won't impress but if you can look beyond that, it's a good hotel.

Our teenager can vouch that the pool was "awesome." The location was convenient as well. A short drive from Ameristar. The bathtub in our room was absolutely disgusting. Hotel was in a quiet, industrial area. Lobby was very nice & inviting but don't judge a book by its cover. Because it looks nothing like the pictures on the internet & the fact that it was remodeled in 2011 is slightly off. There is still work being done and a lot more to be done. Looks like a rundown hotel that needs some TLC. To start off I see signage […] that says they don't have any smoking rooms & I made it clear when I made my reservations that I had to have a smoking room & I also wanted hot continental breakfast with a pool. So the receptionists at the hotel said she would see what she could do. After 3 different rooms we finally found a room that the sliding glass door was functional so we could go outside to smoke. It only took us an hour to finally get settled into a room. The indoor/outdoor pool wasn't too bad but could also use some TLC. I usually workout in the fitness room at hotels, but I took one look at the equipment & walked right back out. I would be ashamed of that equipment & the whole room was a turnoff. The breakfast was just what I was looking for & the staff were helpful. Last but not least we went down & got breakfast our last day and went back to our room to find out there was no power in any guest rooms. The elevators were also down. I think the location might bring me back again, but come on you should let people know what they are really walking into. Who knows a year from now it could look like a completely different hotel. The hotel was in dreadful shape. It was very old and not kept up. The online information said that it was newly remodeled, but it was not. The air conditioning only worked part of the time. We had 5 people in our room and every day we had to call the front desk to request enough towels and washclothes. Housekeeping was not even consistent with the number […] of towels and washclothes they left. One day they left four, another day three, but never five, which is the number we needed. The vending machines did not give correct change and they did not register when change was put into them. The exercise room was not kept up and two pieces of exercise equipment were out of order. The only positive I can find in our stay was the bar. Our waitress was very good and the cheeseburgers were delicious. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. can,t believe this can be called a Ramada. overall condition was terrible. lobby , elevater,dirty and stained. rooms had old aircondionting unit that was very noisey and hard to sleep.
