"Staff Good Facility Poor"
I found the staff to be helpful, understanding and accomodating. They also used very good skills with very rude customers. They were very understanding when we opted for a different hotel due to no air conditioning in our room, and even provided guidance on how to secure a refund through Expedia. The pictures online are deceiving. Does not look like that. Most exterior lighting does not work therefore the parking lot feels unsafe at night. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial park so you must have a car or take a taxi to get to a restaurant. Nothing is closeby. complete disaster. was told they had shuttle service, not! told us the air conditioning was just turned on at 2pm on a 100 degree day and it would get cold in 3 hours, not! tried to move us to different rooms but couldn't guarentee they would be cold either. curtains falling off rods, rust stains running down wall in bathroom, a/c not working, etc. […] other guests told us they had same complaints and wanted other rooms. we couldn't get 2 rooms ajoining as booked, son, daughter in law & 6 yr. old twins with us. we had to go to chiefs game so just told them we wanted a refund and we would find another one after game, at 11 pm and 30 minutes away we found a wonderful hotel. The hotel staff were nice and helpful. We were hoping to take a swim after a long hot drive in but the pool water was green and wasnt being worked on until the next day. Inside the room, nice and clean. The phone was dead. We could not get the shower to turn on, I was afraid to pull harder on the handle, as it was wobbly, and was afraid I would break it off. The bed was very comfortable, slept well. The pool was nice and large, and 10 feet deep at the deep end. The water was green ,and you could only see down 3 feet. Pool wasn't working, no one mentioned that during booking, kinda bummed out my girls and made me have to eat some words. Tv was tube style and had poor reception, hotel info said it would be a flatty. We were set to stay two nights, changed plans, stayed somewhere else the second night. The parking lot is super dark, the breakfast was bad, the hallways […] smell. The location is in the middle of a bunch of warehouses and distribution centers--no restaurants nearby except mcdonalds. The place generally looks and feels like no one takes much pride in any aspect of the hotel business. Hotels.com has this as a 3 star? That is probably the most frustrating part because 3 star hotels aren't like this place. We stayed at this location once before and had a bad experience so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and tried again. BOTH stays our room had plumbing issues. While the someone (not maintenance) was trying to fix our toilet, he moved the trash can and I discovered that they apparently clean AROUND it. "The Hotel and Rooms were dirty and dated."
We chose the hotel because it was close to Worlds of Fun and Oceans of Fun. There was trash in the hall and the walls were dirty. We entered the room and there were crumbs on the floor and the bathroom did not look or feel clean. The shower was dirty and the toilet was dirty. Well, the most redeeming thing about our stay was that breakfast was included. This was our second night in a Ramada hotel as we were traveling across country. After our first night in St. Louis, I wanted to cancel our stay, but it was less than the required 24 hours so I just stuck with it. This hotel is worn down. This hotel has seen better days. Everything was outdated and worn. Our room was musty and smelled vaguely of sewage in the bathroom. The mattresses were hard and reminiscent of canoes. The power went out on the street and so we had to navigate through the stairwells that appeared to have never seen the likes of a broom or mop. While the rooms appeared clean, there was always a musty, stagnant odor in the hallways. We arranged for a shuttle to our destination. After waiting for 10 minutes, had to approach the front desk. 20 minutes after our requested leave time our shuttle arrived. Getting back was no better. "Avoid at all costs"
This was the worst hotel I have ever attempted to stay at. I say attempted because we booked the room on our way into Kansas City sight unseen just going by the great photos that were on the hotels.com web site. Went to the room and on the way there we had to pass by ceiling plaster that had crumbled and lay in a pile on the floor next to the elevator. […] The room was very old and carpet stains (big ones) were spread across the floor. My wife wouldn't even sit in the 2 chairs because of old stains on them. My daughter went to the bathroom and grabbed a towel and there was hair in the towel. She looked around the bathroom and said the shampoo was half gone. There were no paintings/prints on the walls in this room at all. I went to the front desk to get another room and the lady behind the desk couldn't believe that there were stains in this room. She switched us to another room and we walked in both bed spreads were just thrown on the beds and not even smoothed out. My daughter said the chairs looked better then the other room and then jumped up out of the chair because there was some sort of bug crawling on it. Not sure if if was a bed bug but we didn't stay to find out. We grabbed our stuff went to the front desk and said I'm checking out. I told her about the bug and ceiling tile and she didn't apologize or anything. I got the impression she has heard this all before. We cut our losses and left our non refundable payment to find another hotel that night. I can't bieve Ramada would let a hotel in such bad shape carry it's name. We were very disappointed! We were lead to believe by the pictures and description of our hotel it had an indoor pool. It was not at all, to cold to swim, big disappointment. The water settings in the shower were improperly labeled, glad I checked before my child got in. I cant believe we paid an average of $150 per night for this stay. I have stayed in better hotels for less. Management was never around, one of the two rooms I rented was not clean when we arrived, the air conditioning didn't work, everything is old (carpet, television, etc.) the furniture was stained, the shower/tub was rusty, I had used soap left […] in my room even after they came to clean it before I checked in, the maids didn't vacuum, and when they were at there stations cleaning they didn't have vacuum cleaners. "Worst hotel I've stayed in"
Don't stay in this hotel. Where do I begin? I called the front desk with a complaint about my shower and they said they would send maintenance. The ph was old and staticky and the buttons were getting stuck, so frustrating. One hr later already 10:00pm and no shower I had to go downstairs to speak to them personally. They were rude, didn't even recall […] what rm I had called from and they said they didn't know when maintenance could go up because he's busy when I had just seen him casually hanging out at the desk with them. I I was upset at this point and insisted that he go help. He did and he told me that front off never told him to go service my rm. The shower was working it was just hard to figure out but then the water came out COLD! There was mildew in the tile, hair on the tub drain, disgusting. The neighbors were loud. The breakfast was mediocre and they were always running out. Not to mention the long lines and horrible coffee. I could keep going on, bottom line...I overpaid for this horrible place. It should be a 1star hotel. The pictures online make it look way better than what it is. Location is horrible, no decent restaurants around. Don't stay here!!!
