"Never going back"
Left the room at 1100am, returned at 930pm to find room had not been cleaned, dirty towels still piled up on floor from the night before, one trash can had been emptied the other one was still full, linens not changed/beds not made. This was the last thing we needed after a long day in the sun. Apparently housekeeping claimed that we had placed a do […] not disturb sign on the door and so they didnt enter the room. If that's the case, who emptied the trash? Called the front desk, general manager Anand D. was very rude, yelling at me that he trusts his housekeepers and that I needed to get out of the way so he could help other customers, after he threatened to throw 2 women with 3 small children out in the middle of the night. I then called the corporate office. They reassured us that no one was getting thrown out and to call the police if he tried. They spoke with him and said he would apologize and he told them he was under a lot of stress and would bring us towels and linen and a walmart gift card. Stressed or not that was VERY unprofessional. I will say the ladies that handle the breakfast area were awesome, the selection was great. Thanks to Christine at the corporate office for her help and also the front desk manager Cherye who helped us check out, she was very nice. It was a over priced hotel. I will never stay there again. The pool was so small and the hot tub was not working. The door to enter the hotel is small and still manually operated. Bad two rooms on check in. both Hampton and hotel.com fix the rest of the stay. However the worst experience I had ever had. "It's all about the pool"
My son and I often stay in hotels just for fun. It's a mini-vacation for both of us and a chance to go swimming. I gave the Hampton Inn top marks because the pool was clean, it stayed open until midnight!!!, the hot tub was a comfortable and therapeutic temperature, and they had towels available. I especially liked the fact that the pool was open later than most other hotel pools. That gave us extra time to swim and exercise. Like all Hampton Inn Hotels, the beds/bedding was very comfortable and clean. I like that they provide ample amenities like shampoo, lotion, personal care kit, mouthwash. I don't have any real complaints about our stay, the staff was great, we had a neighbor with roudy loud kids, and they seemed to have taken care of that rather quickly. "Could've been excellent"
The hotel had great potential. Customer service when we arrived was superb. On the ride up to our room when had a pleasant chat with one of the staff members. We then opened the door to our room and that's when the 5 stars stopped. Our room had only partially been cleaned. It seriously looked as though the previous guest would walk back in any moment. […] We called the front desk to confirm we were in the right location. They said someone would be right up and she would talk to the manager. I told her we would sight see and return. 3 hours later the room was exactly as it was upon leaving. I called the front desk again. Again I was told someone would be up in just a moment. 45 minutes later I went down to ask to change rooms. At that point the room was cleaned within the next 15 minutes. Okay - things can happen and it was finally corrected. However the next day when we came back from sightseeing our room was once again only partially cleaned. Towels were picked up but not replenished and the full trash cans weren't emptied. I did speak to the manager to let her know so she would have the knowledge to make future corrections. Again very friendly staff. I think if some staff adjustments are made this will be an excellent stay with very reasonable rates especially compared to staying in Galveston.
