"Fun place to stay"
This hotel is located in a great spot in the middle of the city. Rooms are pretty small but if you don't plan on being there much it's perfect.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Everything you want to do/see is within walking distance. The rooms are a bit small, but you shouldn't be spending much time in there anyway. It's a beautiful city!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The staff was excellent; very friendly and helpful, especially Cory. However, the hotel appearance felt outdated and the room was very small. I was there for one night which was fine, but to be honest, I wouldn't have wanted to stay in that hotel room for more than one night. It didn't give me that comforting vibe. Perhaps warmer colors and updated […] trim around the doors as opposed to metal would give the rooms a better feeling. Overall, my experience was not bad. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small rooms, fitness center but staff is helpful"
Room there is fine for a place to sleep, not much else. Free in-room WIFI and breakfast are good for business travellers. Rooms too small for families.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect location, tiny room"
Love the free breakfast, love the location. Room was clean but absolutely tiny--and I was staying alone. But, it's an old historic building--if you can look past it, the stay is pleasant.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel. Very nice."
The desk clerks were very helpful and informative. The room was very nice and comfortable. A+ rating!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Great location, but rooms too small. Not even a chair to hang a coat on or somewhere to put a case to unpack. Net alone a desk to do some work. Cheap price point but that means loud drunk guests shouting down hallways at night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms are just too small. Unable to use desk and nod dresser (I do not count a file cabinet as a dresser. Overall, good hotel and front dorr staffGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The rooms were very small and it felt cramped inside. The breakfast options were reasonable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Boutique style hotel"
Rooms where newly renovated, but small. Very clean and serviced daily. The size didn't bother us, since we were out all day. Plus it was just the two if us, so it was perfect. Staff was pleasant. Great free breakfast.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
All good Room clean Breakfast is really simpleGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Just minutes from Place I had to be"
wish I could have stayed a little longerGenuine Hotels.com guest review
As you can see from our history, we stay at many Holiday Inn Express properties, repeatedly. We will never stay at this one again. The shears on the windows had holes. The over drape was filthy. On Saturday night, around midnight, after being there two days I had to request glasses and got an argument from night auditor that the hotel only provided […] fresh glasses on check in and that if I wanted more, I needed to go down to where the breakfast was served to retrieve glasses. I asked to see the written instructions in my room for that, but then she finally brought some up to me. On Thursday night, after 11pm, I tried to get change at the front desk so I could have tip money for housekeeping. The night auditor told me she didn't have small bills, but guessed she should ask for some on her next shift. The room was so small it was claustrophobic and after spending a $1000, not at all what I expected from this hotel chain. I will say the bell staff, housekeeping and the front desk clerk who checked me in were all great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Close to all must-see sights"
The room was a little small but it was very nice. It was close to several restaurants and must-see sights. There was several means of transportation close.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great location and value for this hotel. Easily walkable to shops and restaurants. The breakfast was good as well. Would definitely stay here again as the price was the best in the area. The only negative is that the gym is really small and not much in there as far as equipment.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent location! Good service"
In general nice hotel to stay, the staff is friendly and service oriented, the location is great, the price is fair. However little bit noisy, you can hear everything what is happening in the halls and other bedrooms.Genuine Expedia guest review
"go somewhere else"

"Great location, small room"
.. But for the price , worth it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very friendly, nice staff"
I stayed at this hotel for 4 days during a conference. The staff was great, very friendly and extremely helpful. I had a specific situation I needed help with: I was a nursing mom with needs of extra-storage in their fridge. They not only brought in a mini-fridge to my room upon request, but were extremely nice to find extra storage at the hotel's fridge. The […] rooms are simple but very comfortable and nicely decorated. It is very close to everything, their breakfast is really good and they offer free wifi. I prefer to stay in small, boutique hotels when I travel. I find big chain hotels are often impersonal and inflexible with their rules. Not to mention there is a fee for everything. I really like the experience there and strongly recommend it. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Location Location Location"
Hotel is perfect for shopping and sightseeing in downtown Chicago. Contemporary Art Museum, Galleries, Michigan Ave and River North shops and restaurants all walking distance. Not the place to stay if you are expecting the luxuries and service of 5 star accommodations. This is the place if you'll be spending the majority of your time outside your room […] and who isn't? We stayed two nights in a single queen on the fourteenth floor overlooking Erie St. The room was tight but, clean, and doable for two. Tip: Use spothero in advance for reserved parking in the convenient (next door)Ontario St. Garage and save. It cost $24 per day instead of the hotel or drive up rate of $44/day. Otherwise, I'd go with the hotels valet service for just $5 more at $49/day and skip the hassle. This is a no in/out garage but, with everything so close one can walk or grab a cab and leave the car parked. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very nice hotel - great location - expensive parking.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Room was a little cramped."
Overall experience was fine. Good location with lots of restaurants in the area.Genuine Expedia guest review
The room was a little small, but the staff was wonderful. The location was ideal for us because we walked the city. The biggest drawback is the cost of parking. It was $132 for 3 days in the structure next to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
You can stay in Chicago's magnificient mile for a not so magnificient price...Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for visiting Chicago!"
The rooms are small but this is an old hotel. Everything else is excellent: great staff, great location near restaurants and public transportation, with parking garage around the corner. Chicago public transportation is truly great! We got week passes and left the car in the garage the whole time.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good indeed"
Comfortable, well-priced hotel in the heart of Chicago!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Small but clean rooms"

Second visit to Holiday Inn Express; comfortable, clean, friendly atmosphere. Close to shopping, restaurants.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff was really nice and helpful. Hotel was near everything walking distance. Beware of $50.00 a day parking but there is no where else to park with in/out privileges.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel location is very convenience. Walking distance to shopping area and good dining places. Good hotel service. Nice place to stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Smallest room ever!!!!!!"
I will never stay here. Room was tiny. No work desk. 1 nightstand with a bunch of stuff on it. No luggage rack. Bed up against hallway wall so you hear everything/everybody.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small hotel in the Magnificent Mile area"
Very good location, breakfast was very good too. Rooms were terribly smallGenuine Expedia guest review

"2-blocks from Magnificent mile"
Very convenient, Trader Joes across street, close to stores, restaurants, rain forest restaurant, and more. Highly recommended and reasonable rates. Breakfast included with very polite and helpful service personnel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Awesome Cheap Hotel Great Area"
The room is a bit small, but the continental breakfast cant be beat, and what an awesome location. Staff is friendly and will call a cab for you when you leave the building. Overall really nice hotel!! I would totally stay here again when I return to ChicagoGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good value but really small!"
Got a great deal on the room fee thru Hotels.com but lost some of its luster because of the valet (only) parking fee. Great location (walked "home" after dinner), clean, good breakfast, bed & TV, friendly & helpful staff. Only drawback was the hallways and room were really tiny. East coast old hotel tiny, and this is the remodeled and renamed old Cass […] Hotel. You'd never guess it from the remodeled desk and breakfast area which are great. Two of me would not pass in the 11th floor hallway and my wife and I filled up the room. Do you really need more room tho? Stayed two nights, and would have been nice to have more closet space but it sufficed. We'd go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
the staff that checked us in were great...theyr recommended places to eat and even called ahead and booked our table...the guy cracked jokes and kept us laughing...elevators and rooms are tiny but clean and great location & price...within walking distance to food & fun...Plenty open lateGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"close to everything you want to go to"
the room was sub par for the price . very small and compact . stains in the carpet and on one of the chairs . the comp breakfast was nice and the staff was amazing .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth it"
Very small room, no chairs, queen bed filled room, bedside lamp only on one side, no water glasses, no coffee cups in spite of coffee maker there, thin walls - could hear toilet flushing next door, one bar of soap, coat closet very small, no desk/table for laptop, sink stopped up and never flushed out, no bathroom counter for toiletries, no minibar, […] noisy heating unit kept us awake, toilet seat lid flimsy and dented when sat on, broken elevator every day, elevators only hold 4-5 people without luggage, fewer with luggage, housekeeping staff used customer elevators all day, tying them up at upper floors, elevator music awful I've stayed in Holiday Inn Express in Edinburgh and Amsterdam and neither one was this bad. For $110/day I expected better than this. Don't get a room on the upper floors because of the elevator problems. You'll be waiting for the elevator a lot. You will have to sit on the floor to put your shoes on because the bed is too high to do this, but you will be cramped by your luggage taking up the floor space. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, wonderful staff"

"Nice hotel close to bus terminals."
I was greeted promptly on the information counter. Hotel is really clean and have this warm feel. Room is just right, complete stuff that you need. A gym accessible 24-hours. And love the pantry area, it's cozy. What I love about the place is it's near the bus stops that can take you anywhere in downtown Chicago.Genuine Expedia guest review
"great bargain for the price"
super clean - completely quiet - small, but good value - easy access to bus lines to go to Art Institute, Museum campus, etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed one night for a quick getaway; was able to check in a little early. Nice front desk staff. Room was clean and quiet. Able to check bag for most of day after I had checked out. Would definitely stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not to bad for the city"
We really enjoyed our stay. I will have to say that the room was a little smaller than anticipated but for the price we found it to be fine. The breakfast each morning was great and the staff were friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient location"
I had to go to Chicago just to have some documents done. The hotel location was just perfect, I walked to my destination! Parking price was to high though!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
