The hotel is conveniently located near O'hare Airport. Check in was fast although the receptionist forgot to give me my welcome gift as a Priority Club member. My stay was a total nightmare. I paid $300 for two nights at the holiday inn and I could have been better off staying at a $50 motel. Room was super crusty, carpet smelled so bad, almost nauseating. My flight arrived late and as such was really worried about the airport shuttle to the hotel. As it turns out, the hotel provides 24 hour shuttle service to the hotel. Great for me because the line for the taxi service at 11pm was unbelievable!! The shuttle driver was extremely pleasant an so was the staff member who checked me in. He apologized for […] not having a non-smoking room available (I had booked last minute so I didn't expect to get a premium room). I braced myself for an unpleasant experience as I hate cigarette smoke. To my surprise the room was almost odor-free. Just the pillows had that faint smokey smell. My son arrived at O'Hare from Europe. When he called the hotel to inquire about the shuttle he was told to wait outside the terminal at a given place. He REPEATEDLY advised the person he spoke with that he had arrived at the international terminal and the hotel employee insisted he wait just outside the terminal. 1 hour and 45 minutes later my son called […] again to ask why the shuttle hadn't arrived and the same person he had spoken to earlier argued with him that he had never mentioned that he was arriving at the international terminal and that he now had to move to the domestic terminal to pick up the shuttle. Once in the room he found that his phone had a frayed wire that kept cutting off his phone calls. I called the front desk from New Mexico to inform them that my son could not use the phone because of the frayed wire and I was told that he had to call to inform them of the malfunctioning phone!!
