Hotel Osuna - Madrid

Friendly staff at reception desk. Shuttle driver very professional, good manners, friendly and attentive to our needs. The only thing I didn't like was that I had to walk from reception desk building to another building to reach room quarters. Not a nice walking on cold weather and rainy day.

I stayed in this hotel last year and was amazed. I don't k ow if they have gone under management change or what but the staff seemed annoyed by every question I asked them. I had trouble getting the wifi ( which you have to pay for €12 per day). When I told them they rudely said go to your room and dial 9- which I came to find out is the front desk […] anyways. After about 45 minutes of being put on hold or being hung up on I finally got it to work. Also, I asked for a room with a single bed for me and my girlfriend. They gave us the handicap room- which by all means they should have; but because of the odd conditions( for me) the room just about flooded because the shower was the bathroom/ the bathroom was the shower. Just an uncomfortable feel. Especially having been wowed last time. They offer a shuttle to the airport but only to terminal 1&2 not 3&4. How does that even make sense? I could go on, but all in all; I booked this hotel for the proximity to the airport. Which would make one think they have experience dealing with foreign travelers; however it seemed like they catered more toward the average Spainard. Which is fine. But they should let this be know. Worked out great and looks like a great place, wish I could have spent more time there. I needed a place near the airport for morning flight, provided free transportation, large room, large bathroom, great control over temperature of the room. Staff was very helpful and spoke English as well.

This was the second time staying at this hotel, and it was much different from the first. This time, the room was unkept, the towels had holes in them and the room had an overall dingy feel. They tell you to arrive 40 minutes before you want to arrive at the airport but cannot accomodate or organize when there are too many people who would like to use the shuttle. We would have gladly left earlier if we had known that there'd be too many people for the time we needed to go. In the end, we took a taxi which was expensive. One good thing about the hotel is that it's in a quiet neighborhood and it isn't that far from the metro. The walk is bearable. Read more

The bed spreads are dirty, torn, and stained. The rugs are old and the installations in general need renewal. After looking other rooms, they were kind enough to give me a better room.

When we arrived, the person working at the front desk was in a frenzy about a reservation he could not find (not mine). Finally he helped us, but did not tell us anything about the hotel, just that our room was out there. After we completely walked around the hotel, we went back to the front desk and he told us that our room was in a different building. […] He also told us that the Internet was not from the hotel, that we would have to go online and pay for it, but it would only work on a laptop or computer, no cell phones or tablets. Never did understand that. The room was OK, definitely not a 4 star hotel. The walls were so paper thin that we did not sleep all night because the people beside us must have stayed up all night and were talking, laughing and slamming doors. In addition, I paid for the parking on hotels.com, but nobody ever gave us a pass for the car, did not ask for the license plate, etc. I feel that was money wasted as we parked outside. Lastly, I thought the shuttle was 24 hours, whenever needed (as I have experienced in other hotels). We were told to be early for the shuttle cause if it fills up, we have to wait for the next one. No appointments could be made. The driver began to rant about the traffic at the airport and that he could only take us to the arrivals, that we would have to walk to the departures. Thank goodness we left the hotel with plenty of time for our flight home. I would NOT recommend this hotel!!! Read more

Not very convenient to Metro. Did have a shuttle to airport. In a totally private neighborhood surrounded by private residences. Not a lot of other places to eat than at hotel restaurant.

Very convenient location if you have to stay near Barajas Airport. Awful layout: you have to walk outside to another building to get to your room. It was raining when I arrived, so it was an inconvenience. Not worth the rate I paid.

The hotel is near to the airport and a subway station so the location is great. However, there are not many places to eat near to the hotel and the hotel breakfast and dinner are a little pricey. The rooms are clean but some of the carpet in the hall is worn out. I arrived at almost midnight and the shuttle picked us up from the airport.

Stay here if you like but here is my experience. Booked a queen and got two doubles. Hotel front desk manager said they had only doubles. He said it wasn't his problem. Got the room and found a sub par room. Hotel was rated 4 stars and should be demoted to camp ground status. Finally got to sleep and was awoke to wife screaming because a very large […] cockroach ran over her foot while she was using the bathroom. Finally got back to sleep and awoke in am to a line of ants to the wifes purse. Cleaned out the ants. Got ready and took the shuttle to the airport. We get there only to find the driver left a bag on the ground outside the hotel roundabout. Had to go back and retrieve the bag. The hotel is in a suburban neighborhood, about 15 minutes from terminal 1. FREE AIRPORT SHUTTLE. The hotel has a restaurant and bar, as well as a nice outdoor pool. Perfect for a stopover between flights. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The hotel does charge extra for internet access.

Room was comfortable but could have done with some extra blankets as it was a bit cold the night I stayed. TV was old, only a few news channels in english.Breakfast was fine nothing special. Mattresses on the beds are terrible - (ended up with a sore back for 3 days) need to put a blanket under sheet to stop springs poking through. Reading the blogs help me a lot in choosing this hotel. It was a pleasant experience during our stay in the Hotel. The Shuttle was of great help to and from the Airport. The only problem I can say was language barrier but in fairness some of them are trying their best to communicate in English. Great hotel close to airport. Not quite as close to Madrid city as would have liked (20-25 min metro ride) but very easy to get into the centre. The aircon in the room was ridiculously cold though and as much as we tried, could not turn it off or the temperature up. Didn't get a chance to ask reception about this so may be an easy solution.

Surly, unfriendly staff. The cleaners should have been 'front of house'! The wifi was hugely expensive. No kettle or mini bar in room. No water provided. The worst service of any hotel I've ever stayed in worldwide.

The Hotel is beside a School and the scream from the school kids did not allow for a quite time. The view from my room was the school wall full of graffiti. The front desk staff were neither friendly nor helpful. When I asked for directions to center of Madrid on three different occasions, the front desk staff told me to get taxi, even though Metro […] (train station) was 5 minute walk from the Hotel. The swimming pool was the selling point of the hotel for me but it was closed even though the weather was not bad. My daughter who was looking forward to swimming was frustrated. The Hotel should have stated that the pool is not open till June from the onset. The room had only a bed and Television, no kettle for hot water/tea, no cups. When I asked for a spoon, I was given a plastic tea spoon. The breakfast was good though but I did not enjoy staying there and will definitely not recommend it to anybody. Read more

The hotel consists of several small buildings adjacent to each other and a conference center (green building at the far back) which also have rooms. Although building stile is not consistent the facilities are all there including swimming pool, outdoor bar, lounge, restaurant etc. The hotel location is ideally situated near to the airport and 10min […] walk to the underground stop "Canillajas" which is 20min from center of Madrid (ticket 1euro). The free shuttle service from and to the airport is a great convenience and saved me and my family a lot of money. The rooms were clean, with 2 tween beds which were double-size. Very comfortable indeed. Although hot at the end of July that I visited the air conditioning system was very efficient and not loud, keeping the temperature very cool. The staff very helpful and more than happy to help despite the long hours they seem to be working. I would definitely recommend if you are planning to visit Madrid for business or pleasure. This is the first time in my life I write a review. I feel that I have to let people know what to expect in that '4 stars' hotel: extremely rude personnel; dirty halls; stained carpets; old broken (broken!) towels; no breakfast; no double bed; gotta pay internet; etc. Don't go there!! For the same rate and also close to Barajas Airport, we had stayed […] before at 'Auditorium' where we got excellent service, internet included, plus a great breakfast and shuttle to the airport every half an hour. I will never book last minute a hotel in Madrid and definitely will not use neither recommend Osuna ever again. How they got their 4 stars remains a mystery to us! It is not like it was a bad service - it just didn't exist. I mean that you always depend on the personality of the person who serves you. This hotel would be just fine if not for the service at the reception upon my arrival and departure.
