"Not what is said it would be"
It was not located 4 blocks from Bourbon like it said. Also it was really busy and they did not have enough staff to handle the check in. There were no luggage carts. The bell man told me it was to hot to stand outside and wait for our car. The AC in two of our rooms broke and they had NO extra towels at tall - you only two thats it!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was excellent and great location. The garage parking fee was excessive at $32.00.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Service was mediocre other than the concierge Josie who was great. Overall for location and value I give a thumbs up. Not a bad stay. Could use some more amenities but the cobblestone wall rooms are cool. Reminds me of home (Galveston) the sister city. Thanks again Josie!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very friendly staff!"
Small bathroom, needs updating, but rooms have character and the staff and location were fantastic!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"No peace or quiet"
Noise...that's all I can say. Woke up in the middle of the night thinking the woman walking in heels above me was in my room. That's how clearly I could hear her....or anything else that was going on around me and in the hallways.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Walk to Bars and Restaurants"
You can easily walk to Bourbon Street and the French quarter if desired or even a block or so the opposite direction are two solid restaurants/bars if you don't want to walk far (Lucy's and Barcardia). Hotel service was polite and valet attendants timely with retrieving vehicles. No issues with cleanliness. If you drive to NOLA, you will have to pay […] to park (roughly $30/night no matter where you choose to stay/park) whether with the hotel or otherwise, so be forewarned. Also, be prepared for additional "resort fees" throughout any hotels in the city. These are not included in what you pay on this website. All things considered, this is a good hotel in a good location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good location"
Hotel could use little refreshing and good cleaning. Good location and comfortable room but would only stay again if price is well below competition.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"NICKEL AND DIMED"
Paid for the hotel and city fees through Hotels.com but when we arrived to check in, another non-optional "amenities fee" was required for the wifi and continental breakfast. Oh and don't forget the parking fee. By the time we paid all the hidden fees the room was double the booked price. And it could have been cleaner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Comparatively this hotel is not bad for the price of a room for the weekend, I stayed Sat night. It is about a 10 minute walk to the WWII museum which is a must see attraction, in my opinion. The hotel is a boutique hotel. The building was once a coffee warehouse that was converted into a hotel so keep in mind the walls are thinner than most and the […] floors creak a bit which gives it a bit of character but if noise bothers you this may not be the place for you. It is also very close to Mother's, a restaurant established in 1938 that boasts "the world's best ham" I ate there twice bc it was close by but also bc it is very tasty. Staff is friendly and helpful but service at the front is slower than most bc the front desk has two people working it at most. The breakfast is a light continental breakfast. I would come back and stay here for the bargain. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"I liked it but...."
I liked it there but I didn't have any phone service. I had to stand in certain spots in the room to get a signal. Other than that I enjoyed it there.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
While the hotel service is great the room themselves are not. The walls are paper thin and I could hear full conversations in the room sharing a wall with mine as well as comments in the hallway from others in rooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Appears to have termite damage in room 419."
Bed springs squeak! Floor feels spongy and is either termite ridden or needs board replacements.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"great location but staff need to step up their gam"
I couldn't ask for a better location especially for the price. The only real downfall to the place was the cleanliness of the room. Room service claimed to clean it but trash was left, bed wasn't made, dishes from breakfast were not taken out and the coffee pot was disgusting.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
room backed up to noisy elevator shaft. breakfast was stale muffins. poorly maintained bathrooms.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This was a spur of the moment to join family and we weren't disappointed. I will be staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, a few hidden fees"
Nice location, very nice decor & feel. I dig the old warehouse vibe of the place. Room was very large, with creaky, crooked floors...just like you'd expect in an old warehouse. Hope the people below me didn't mind. Front desk folks were always very friendly & helpful, even signed my IronButt Association paperwork for me (rode 1000 miles in 24 hours […] to get there). The only cons I can think of: They charged me extra fees (daily) for parking, and for the continental breakfast. So take whatever rate Hotels.com is posting, and add 20-30 bucks to it. Also, my key would work for all of an hour before it would fail. Had to walk back down to the front desk several x. Other than these things, I really enjoyed my stay, and would return. "Creepiest hotel ever"
What is with the antique theme? Did not need to attend a voodoo tour due to the eerie room. Suggestion, the floors are creepy.. Try carpeting. The caninets and the lamps are outdated. What is up with that view of the three walls. Like come on, and they don't even open. Smelled like mold. Overall, overpriced for the condition it is in. Good proximity […] to the night life.. That's the only positive. Oh, and they give you complimentary breakfast. But the catch is, you gotta make it by yourself. Waffle makers provided. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"2nd time a charm"
I stayed in this hotel about 5 years ago. I was with a friend and we were perfectly happy with the hotel and location. This time, I needed a room for the same day, and went to hotels.com. Ambassador Hotel came up in the search and it did not take me a second to decide to stay there again.....and the rate was so very reasonable. I was travelling by myself, […] so the queen bed room worked out beautifully. Comfortable bed and nice staff. My only recommendation would be to include a protein in the continental breakfast...like hard boiled eggs. Justin, the concierge was very helpful and charming, and the Hop on Hop off bus was just a few steps away at Harrah's. Love the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Expensive horrible experience"
Service was the worst I have ever had, forced $32 parking, with no other options! Rooms were ok, bed was uncomfortable and the room door was glass with blinds to cover allowing all the light and noise from hallway to keep you up! Will NOT be back!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Really pretty, walking distance to everything! 100% recommendedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I cannot wait to come back to this charming, lovely and unique hotel where the staff are so friendly. A perfect 5-block stroll from Bourbon Street through downtown past the trolley, it was well lit and quite safe. A true experience, reminded me of Europe in how they restored and honored what was already there vs. building a generic modern space.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Worst hotel stay of my life!"
The hotel is cute and it's located in a descent area, but that's all! We arrived at our hotel, only to be told they have a resort fee. What??!!! It had no resort amenities! Within a fee hours we had a huge water leak in our room, it soaked out bed and floor. It took the hours to check on it. They moved us with out oplovizibg for the inconvenience, and […] while I ordinarily would not have cared, they downgraded our room. We payed almost 400 for one night to stay in a premium king bed room and stayed in a mediocre 2 bed room with no windows and a glass door with shades. Every sound made was heard and we did not get any sleep due to the noisy halls surrounding all four sides if the room. Not to mention all the romance was sucked out of our first honeymoon night! Don't do it!!! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel was good but BED was sagging in the middle and there was a plastic sheet under the bed sheet ???????????????.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean comfortable. Lots of rooms are completely in the interior of the warehouse building so be sure to ask for a room with a view if you want one. Being New Orleans near the Quarter loud people late night may be the norm.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cheap hotel in nice place"
Customer service was good. Our room had a water leak in the floor and the wood was rotting out. We told them about this but nobody seemed to care. The breakfast ended before the day even started. Parking is $39 a day and there is no place close by that is free. The room was decorated nicely but the shower handle fail off and the hair dryer quit working. […] The maids start cleaning at 8 am and are very loud. Slamming doors and making a lot of noise. Our room had a window which was right next to the door and the bar was opening until 3am. I am pretty sure somebody got shot in the alley while we were there while racing motorcycles. The hotel is pretty old but it is cheap. If you are looking to stay downtown New Orleans on a budget it is a good hotel but not that great of a place in general. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Friendly staff, ecellent location, nice place. Great continental breakfast included on the rate.....Great Swrvice!Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is nice enough, and the room was actually really cute. The problem was that there wasn't a single window (unless you count the French door that led into the room from the hallway?). Location was not bad, and the staff was friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

My boyfriend and I went to New Orleans for 2 metal shows. We had got this hotel online at the very last minute because of how cheap and affordable the price was. We arrived a little bit before check out time. Got there around 3:20. We knew that check in time was 4:00. They were extremely nice about it so they let us fill out some info a little early […] and hold all of our bags until 4:00, got to go drink and chill at the bar next door. They didn't have the room I reserved online, but they upgraded us to a really nice two queen size beds, with no extra charge. (It was super convenient in the long run since one of my boyfriend's friends from Hammond ended up using the extra bed anyways.) The location was perfect for my boyfriend and I. It was walking distance from everything! The only thing that we were annoyed about was the 2nd day we were there, we stayed had stayed up till 5 in the morning so we slept all day and stayed in our room until 6 and they kept knocking on the door for room service. There were no "Do not disturb" signs anywhere. The rooms were clean and we loved how old the building was. It sucked because there's no mini fridge or microwave, but I notice that a lot of hotels in NOLA don't have one in any hotels. It would be convenient if they did though just cause we brought leftover food to the room. On the last day of our stay it randomly smelled like gasoline on our floor which was odd. But we both loved it and I would probably stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay"
Overall charming hotel to stay though the cost was on the high side. Check-in time is 4, but we arrived about 11:30 am, which I had called in advance to mention, but no promises were made. We had requested a specific room and were told that they could get us into a different room quickly if we didn't want to wait. We opted to wait and everytime we called […] to find out if the room was ready we were told that it would be another 30 minutes, even though we were also informed that the room we were waiting for was vacated at 11:30. A little after 4 we were finally given our rooom keys. Don't get me wrong, the room was beautiful which was importatnt since we stayed for 2 weeks during Jazzfest and when we needed to rest it was a comfortable place to be. "Strange mix of nice and run-down"
No hot water in the sink faucet and a bed with a serious hole in the middle made for an unpleasant night stay. This hotel seemed well appointed but its fixtures and furniture need a bit of updating or replacement. This hotel certainly under-performed its lofty price and expectations.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location,charming exposed brick walls"
It was a great location a few blocks from the river walk, French Quarter and trolley lines. We had exposed brick walls in our room, very charming! The floors slanted downward and things rolled off of the counter in the bathroom, it is obviously an old hotel. Service was a little inconsistent at front desk, wake up calls came through only about 60% of […] the time. House keeping did a great job and were very accommodating. Breakfast buffet was good. All in all we loved it and would stay there again when we return to New Orleans! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't believe the info"
No brickwalls, no windows, no Wifi included, no breakfast included. They'll charge you ten bucks a day for Wifi, (VERY bad) breakfast and "security" (whatever that means??). Lousy roomcleaning, no fresh towels, keycard needed recoding (3 times in 4 days). Close to conventioncenter but a lot of better options are available close by. I wont stay there […] again. "Easy walk to the French Quarter and the Riverfront"
Stayed on a Jazz Fest Sat. night, had easy parking across from hotel in the convenient pay-lot, left the warm sticky humidity of the city and walked into a nice cool lobby- ahhh. The check in was easy and the clerk was friendly. After checking in and finding our room, we wanted to get out and feel the night air on our faces. The bar downstairs had cold […] drinks and brew, and the crowd was nice, so my friends and I grabbed a cold one to sit outside at one of the sidewalk tables and sip. "Nice Location is not enough"
So I booked this travel on line through a popular site where I was offered an air/hotel deal. I paid the deal up front....except I didn't. I walk into the hotel and the desk agent tells me that I am all paid up except for "the $9.95 mandatory fee." I guess I am supposed to know what this is, but I'm dumb enough to ask anyway. I am told that this covers […] the continental breakfast (more on that later) and the internet among other charges. I question it, saying that I paid what I thought was the full price of the stay up front. Ia m told again that it is a mandatory fee. I am also told that I have to initial my agreement to the charge (even though I would be signing the entire agreement). I again question it, and then commanded to initial. And on it goes. Oh, and it is not just $9.95, but it is $9.95 per night I come to find out. I get to my room, which was clean and plain. I would have no problem, except when I lean on the edge of the bed to put my heavy bags down, it rolls away from me! I nearly fell and am lucky to have come away uninjured. As for breakfast, little was offered. Most basic hotels offer much more. This one did have coffee, OJ, bread/bagels & toaster, small pastries, cereal and waffle maker. No fruit, yogurt, eggs, meat, or the other offerings that usually make up a continental breakfast. So you don't get what you didn't expect to pay for in the first place! Now I understand why the travel site was able to offer a deal. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"great location. Close to casino and Bourbon Street"
I loved it. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Hotel had a very Louisiana feel to it and I felt very safe. There was a person at the counter at all times as well as a person at valet service. The room was walking distance to all sightseeing activities in French Quarters. It was also near all the highway and very accessible. The front desk was […] also very helpful in giving out info. on tours or city information. I will definitely stay here again if I visit New Orleans. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room is so small. There was no sunlight. The continental breakfast started from 7:30AM. We had no time to eat it because the meeting started from 8:00Am. Sometimes, we could not find the towels when we came back late. There was no house keeper to work late.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Jazz festival weekend"
Close to everything only 5 blocks. Nice quiet rooms and comfortable bed. Front desk clerks excellent and helpful in giving directions.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We found the lobby staff to be always cheerful and informative. However, the lobby itself is merely functional and extremely dull. That disappointment was soon eliminated, though, when we entered our room which was very spacious and nicely appointed with the historic ambience of old brick walls. Although we were aware of the $32 parking charge, we felt […] a little ambushed by the total cost of the mandatory "value-added" package that was not clearly stated on the website. This is added to an already expensive night's lodging. It's best to know the total cost of a room from the get-go, so it doesn't leave a bad taste in your mouth. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"close to all must-see sights"
I arrived in New Orleans a day earlier than the rest of my party so I booked a hotel room for one night. The hotel was lovely and the staff was wonderful. It was close to the water, Canal Street, tons of restaurants and shopping. The continental breakfast was severely lacking but New Orleans is full of such amazing food that it wasn't a problem.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The only complaint I have is the noise. People talking in the halls sounded like they were in your room. Other than that..it was nice to be so close to everything without being right in the quarter. I loved being so close to the water. Everyone was so nice. I can't wait to go backGenuine Hotels.com guest review
