"Hotel was nice"
HOTEL WAS nice they are doing some renovations and that find now the parking is something I didn't care for 32.00 dollars a night were Is the free parking and they didn't validateGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was under a complete overhaul. They charged 10 dollars for breakfast which was a joke and they charged 32 dollars to park.Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel in repearing now and it makes you feel discomfort. Moreover, the hotel is very old and even door in our room was with huge window. No windows outside, only in hallway. Conditioner didn't work and workers started thee noisy job at 8am. It was horrible.Genuine Expedia guest review
Under construction. Needs a good cleaning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Always enjoy the ambassador when I'm in town. They are currently under renovation so it was quite a struggle to locate our room. But other than that it was a great stay, as always!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
wished someone would have told us they were renovating the entire hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I don't understand why all the doors have blinds on them and are not solid. Is it because there are no windows in the room? The blinds on the door windows let way too much light in at night. During the day the room is very dark, with not enough light. Our room was below par. It was very small compared to our other 3 friends room. They had a wet bar […] and we did not. They had a ceiling fan and we did not. We all paid the same amount for them. It was quite warm in our room. The carpet in the lobby and halls really needed changing. The staff was friendly and helpful and I liked the location. They really need to do some upgrading! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel is a good value overall for location and proximity. Bathroom didn't seem clean. The $9.95 hotel fee they charge you when checking in really should just be charged with the nightly rate. It doesn't pay for anything and just seems annoying to have to deal with but whatever.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the hotel room. The hotel was under construction so it was noisy and the air conditioning started to leak the morning of check-out. There was water all over the floor in the bathroom. They did call maintenance and it was repaired. I know it's an older hotel so hopefully with the construction it will help.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not at all what was expected..."
I'm not sure where to begin. The pictures are misleading, and the description, too. The hotel room we were given was so tiny, on the first floor. It felt like a dungeon. No natural light, and no exposed brick. We were very excited about the charm that the hotel puts off in its pictures, but be warned, this was a grade above a Motel 6. The vending machine […] for ice was a maze to get to, and the entire hotel, besides the wing where our rooms were, smelled of mold. It took me 40 minutes to get my car out of valet. I live 40 minutes away, so perhaps I should have skipped the hotel and just drove in for my event. They made no special accommodations for Red Dress Runners. The Red Dress Run got over at 5:30pm and they said my car had to be out by 3:00pm, no exceptions. Very displeased. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Get what you pay for!"
The pictures are very deceptive. Do not be fooled. The building was old and smelled terrible. It was under construction and should probably have closed during the process - dust and boads everywhere. Our room was large but smelled like smoke and had no windows. I went down to request a nonsmoking room and they told me all the rooms were non smoking […] - we went back and forth for awhile but I ended up having to stay in that room. The room was also slanted. I put my lipstick on the ground and it rolled to the other side of the room. Really, the main issue was the smoke smell and the window. If you never want to know the we at her outside or see sunlight then this room is great for you. It was SO hard to wake up with no sunlight. Also, pretty sure our room was haunted. I don't believe in that stuff but I was awoken by what sounded like water being poured on the ground at the foot of the bed. After that I couldn't sleep so the sun issue resolved itself. Don't waste your trip. Pay $20 more a night and stay somewhere else. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean and comfortable rooms. Room was bigger then I expected. Close location to French quarter. Would stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel wasn't the most beautiful and fancy but definitely had lots of charm. Built in the late 1800's so it needed some work but it was cool to see all of the old world details they left during remodel. The staff at check in was very friendly, although there was only one person to check everyone in at rush hour. They could have used one more person […] at the front desk. Close to Harrah's and only a few blocks from shopping, restaurants and Bourbon Street. I would stay there again. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"On Mardi Gras parade route...right in front!"
Wow. Great location. I have visited New Orleans before numerous times but first time for Mardi Gras. Parade route right in front of hotel. Hotel has a great bar with awesome bartenders & food. Rooms a bit snug but with lots of charm. Had a chance to meet the owner & he spoke of room improvements soon. Front desk & valet employees are kind & I don't […] have a single complaint. This is the location you want to be at...great restaurants around the corner, Harrah's just blocks away, Bourbon & French Quarter close by (walking distance), & spa facility at Lowe's across the street. I'm happy to accidentally coming across the hotel online. This is where you will find me at my next visit to NOLA. I love this city. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Renovating hotel so it was a lot of noiseGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I think the hotel was comfortable for the price. The location was great. You are with in walking distance of all the main areas. The staff at night looks a little shallo, the the parking is not the best. Overall I enjoyed my stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The floors were so gross that I had a film of whatever was on the floor on the bottom of my feet. I slipped right when I walked in the room. The hotel was also very noisy all night long. We barely got any sleep at night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not luxury but acceptable"
Room was not luxury but adequate and clean. Convenient to canal stGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a wonderful stay. I had read of thin walls and noise-thru, but it's the acoustic of the wooden ols building, and it makes it homy. For a 2-1/2 or 3 stars hotel it's quite well. I did wish they had some computer/printing facility for my needs of the moment, but I guess it's too much for the ranking. I do sustain I had an excellent stay, people […] was sweet, kind and diligent in all ocassions. Facility is great. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not what I expected!"
The room was not as advertised, no wrought iron bed, unfinished brick walls and the room was only about 200sqft! DISAPPOINTED! !!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Wish I had paid a little more to have a better hotel. My friends paid with Groupons and got better rooms than the rest of us who paid full price. Tiny tiny tiny rooms and rude front desk. The only good thing about this hotel is its proximity to Mother's and Barcadia.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel staff was nice. Location was good. Room was very old, small and not updated but adequate. Had problem with street party directly outside my window which lasted until 2:00 AM. Music was so load that having a conversation inside the room was almost impossible. Also I believe that booking the room through hotels.com got me a lower quality room on […] the noisy side of the building. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Paid to much for so little"
the room have no windows, microwave, or refrigerator, to out of dateGenuine Expedia guest review
"Would not recommend"
Older hotel with creaking, uneven floors. Smells like mildew. Hotel staff at check in was rude with smart comments. Parking is expensive and horrible. If you park in the lot in front of hotel, DO NOT be even a few minutes late paying or they will put a boot on your vehicle and it will cost $90. Spend a few extra dollars and get a better hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Poor Choice/ Do Not stay here"
We chose this hotel based on photos and location. But this was probably the worse stay in my 30 years of traveling. The front desk staff could use some customer service training and improve their skills. The room was not as I expected and nothing to write home about. When I arrived I was advised that I would have to agree to pay an extra $9.95 fee for […] continental breakfast and $32.00 day to park my vehicle. But the worst part of my stay was the noise in the room. I could hear people talking in the next rooms, TV's playing, and toilets flushing at 4am... The first night we waited for people to go to sleep, but at 4am it was still going on and I knocked on the wall only to have them knock back and get even louder..We did not get much sleep the first night so I went to front desk to check out a day early, and guess what... I was advised that I would still be charged for the one night even if I checked out. So we had to stay and yes, hear our neighbors conversation until 4am. You must understand that most visitors go to New Orleans to get drunk, but we went to get away and enjoy the time. If people want to stay up all night, that is fine, I just should not have to hear you until you finally collapse..VERY POOR CHOICE.. I WOULD SUGGEST GOING WITH A NATIONAL BRAND NEXT TIME.. Room was pitiful! Located on the first floor looking like a scene from dungeon n dragons! I hated it, the room was musty, tub was dirty. Front desk lady had an attitudeGenuine Hotels.com guest review
All but one person at the front desk was rude and didnt want to be bothered. However, we really enjoyed the atmosphere. It's a beautiful building renovated from a warehouse. Nice, comfy beds. The only thing that would've made the room a little better is a small refrigerator. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be going back.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great hotel for a low budget weekend in NOLA"
Hotel is right on the edge of the French Quarter, so easy walking distance. Also very close to the casino, if that is your thing, and to the new outlet mall. Easy access for checkin/checkout and a parking lot across the street if you don't want to pay the few dollars extra for valet parking. Old building, so don't expect everything to be shiny and new, […] but was clean for the most part. Continental breakfast is filling, but not much offered that was healthy. The bar was closed and no restaurant on site, so that is disappointing. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Small and personable, close to city experience"
Staff was personable and polite. Housekeeping was rather loud in the halls, breakfast started 30 minutes late and less than average. Walls super thin. Loved wooden floors but no windows in our room. Authentic old hotel/warehouse experience. Ok stay but will venture to another hotel next time.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Pretty decent stay."
Overall the stay was pretty decent. This was our second time staying at the Ambassador. The only problem we had was that one of the rooms had a dirty bathtub. There was hair and dirt in the tub we bring our own cleaning supplies whenever we travel so we just cleaned it ourselves. The other room was spotless.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"July 25 & 26. It was ok but nothing special."
We went there because the places we usually stay were full.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Top Notch and I hope it stays that way"
I love The Ambassodor Hotel in New Orleans. It is the only place that I care to stay when I take trips to the city. I have stayed there 8 times this year and enjoy the staff and restaurant/bar staff immensely. I understand that new owners have taken over. I truly hope that they don't have intentions to change too much about this New Orleans gem.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Don't stay here if you intend on sleeping"
We arrived to the hotel and immediately the room was too warm. With it being over 85 degrees outside with intense humidity, we expected to be able to turn the air conditioning on and cool down. With the air conditioning turned as low as possible, the room would not cool down. No air was coming out of the vent. We went out on the town, and when we came […] back to sleep for the night, people down the hall were being noisy until 5am. At around 7am, the maids were being very noisy, laughing and yelling. We asked them if they could keep it down, and they only quieted down for about 10 minutes before we decided to just leave. DO NOT stay here if you intend on getting any sleep. On the bright side, it is a great location. Close to some great restaurants and clubs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for the price...."
We got this room on a Sunday night for a concert and got it for a decent for New Orleans. It wasn't anything flashy, but it was ok. The hardwood floors squeaked a lot, room was small for a standard room. The decor was average.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location, pleasant experience. Great local"
Overall very enjoyable stay. Large number teenagers at the Hotel as well for the concert, quite noisy. No fault of the Hotel. Housekeeping slow to clean room on the second day.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel looked nothing like its pictures. To start with, it was in a rough area. We walked in and it honestly looked like something out of a scary movie. The room wasn't any better. It had high celings, but it had pipes running though it. Nothing at all like the vintage idea they try to portray in the pictures. Despite all that, the room was clean, […] which was nice. "Nice hotel, but I wouldn't return."
There isn't any parking for this hotel. You can park across the street, but that's for 24 hours and it cost $29. Luckily it was the weekend and we parked at a meter for free and just walked everywhere. One of the windows was boarded up and the lobby of the hotel was very dimly lit making it difficult to see. It was like a maze to get to the elevator. […] The hotel room had an extremely dated feel. With the exception of the television, you would have felt like you were in a hotel from the 1800s. The hotel is about 14-16 blocks away from the downtown area, so be prepared to walk. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to someone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Everyone was welcoming and made me feel at home. From the moment I walked in to check in to the moment I walked out to check out, everyone was very pleasant. I will definitely return.Genuine Expedia guest review
Some front desk staff were OUT OF LINE rude and some were extremyl helpful and professional. I had a 5 day stay. Wood flooring does not get washed; so what else doesn't?? Valet cost more than public parking, daily!Genuine Expedia guest review
"One night in NOLA"
The hotel was charming. The viewless "windows" took some getting used to and the door could use a thicker drape to block the light from the hallway, or a solid door would suffice. The staff was excellent and very helpful. For a one night quick trip near the French Quarter, I thought it was perfect for what we paid.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nothing bad to sayGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"really enjoyed myself the location was great peopl"
Only problem with that I wish that I could have stayed at same rate. Seen that was just there for week .My Job would not pay that high rate. I'm having to come back to stay on Monday to Thursday that was very inconvenience for me. If that can be fixed all would have been Great! !! Stay All a round.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It is a great little "boutique" hotel. The staff is friendly, you are with in walking distance to Canal Street, Harrah Casino, and the street cars. "Great for convention-goers"
I recently attended an event at the Morial Convention Center, and this hotel was a great alternative to the big names in the area. The front desk is courteous and helpful and they have an airplane shuttle service owned by the […] hotel, convenient for check-out day. Hotel located in the meatpacking district, the immediate area around is not very pleasant and nice. Staff was not really friendly.
