Nice employees, great service. However, this hotel is falling apart, physically. When I as there, the lobby had a ceiling leak, my ("non-smoking") room smelled like smoke and animal urine, had multiple carpet stains and wet spots, above the shower the ceiling panel was removed and wire was hanging below the ceiling level, there was a wet washcloth draped […] over the shower curtain rod...Ugh. There was no breakfast even though it was advertised. The beds were not made on a daily basis, I can understand not changed. The floor was not vacuumed of visible debris. The front desk staff was friendly.

I was never so disappointed in a Hotel and staff in all my travels. Booking and paying for two rooms 3 months in advance obviously does not guarantee a place at the "Palm Bay Hotel and Conference Center". Upon arrival we were told two stories- 1. The front desk clerk told us our rooms were given away because we were "cleared" out of the system. And […] 2. By the manager the next day "Our rooms were still occupied and I just cant make 'em leave". Hotels.com rates this hotel as Fair, I would rate this as the worst travel experience ive ever had. When you walk in it llooks grand and nice pool and sitting area. and then the smell in the room area was overwelming. The beds sunk in the middle. None of the vending machines were working. Because they allow pets, we had to deal with a barking dog. My son took pictures of all the things wrong in his room. There was hair hanging from the emergency water […] sprinkler. So bad I prepaid for two nights but checked out after only one night. Inside was dirty. Elevators and entire third floor smelled like cigarettes. Our room was non smoking and it smelled like cigs. Wife has asthma; terrible night. I apologized to my kids and went to another hotel.

It was atrocious! My wife and I arrived at the hotel a little after 11pm from a long drive from Clearwater tired and ready to go to bed. We were welcomed into our room by large reddish stains on the carpeting which looked like blood residue. Following that, a cockroach decide to visit the night stand between the beds. The corners in the bathroom were filthy. Another visitation in the bathroom by the cousin (?) of the cockroach on the night stand. The lobby has an old a/c that is rattling and leaking water so it smells like musk and mold. We checked in and then drove around the side of the building where the room was located. Upon our return we notice multiple people hanging by the entrance and in the parking lot. We witnessed a guy hanging by the door walk to a approaching car and make an exchange. We waited until he went back into the building before exiting for our room. Once in our room we noticed no one had brought in towels and the dog and smoke smell were still there. We immediately gathered our things and checked out. A sign posted by the road stated they rent rooms by the week and month...I wish that had been posted on their website so I would have known to steer clear of the hotel. Read more

I don't like that they do not clean your room everyday. The towels are dingy. If things go wrong the girl at the front desk says thats not her job.The coffee area in the lobby is usually messy. I have stayed there many times before but it has really gone down hill.

The original price quoted was a real bargain, but when I checked in the receptionist informed me that an additional $50 deposit was requiered in case any damage to the room was noticed after I had already checked out. The elevator looked rundown. We walked by a large, smelly, overflowing trash can on our way to our room. The room did not smell fresh. […] We dropped our suitcases on the floor and went to the nearby Kmart and bought a bunch of air fresheners (2 plug ins, 2 scented candles and a spray). Need to have clean towels. I had to buy a towel because the hotel towels were dirty and old. Bath mat was dirty. Housekeeping always asked what service i needed. Should be automatic , a complete service. WiFi is very slow too.

The front desk staff was very nice and really tried but we ended up leaving and going elsewhere. Two sets of room keys did not work. We were given the wrong room type. We could hear this all the way out in the hallway. There was a strange musty smell in the hallways. The bathroom was not clean. The garbage cans were overflowing in the vending areas. The hotel advertizes a continental breakfast but they no longer offer it. There are people who live at this hotel - residents who stay there every day. Some of them were roaming the lobby and trying to engage the guests in conversation. It really reminded me of a transient hotel rather than a family hotel. My toilet had to be flushed several times before it emptied. I spotted a small roach of the dresser. The lobby, elevator and hallways were very hot - no air conditioning. The towels and wash cloths were sort of dingy white and worn.

Front door held opem with a bungee cord. Lobby smelled like the inside of a wet old sneaker (very moldy and musty). So did the room. No air conditioning in the lobby. Passing through to visit FIT....We were very unhappy with the condition of the hotel. Not well maintained at all.
