Everything was great until our rental car was broken into while with valet. We don't blame the hotel (and they were VERY nice and helpful throughout the entire ordeal), but perhaps their garage could be more secure. The hotel and bed are very confortable. The only thing that is missing is that there is no MiniBar at the room (I think you can request it). The 2 courtesy water bottles per night are incredibly small (250ml) but at the lobby there is a small convenience store where you can buy them and charge it to your room. Everything else is OK.

I loved the area! The staff was super friendly and helpfull. My big complaint is that the beds were very uncomfortable so I did not rest well. I The mattresses were extremely hard. Made for a exhausting weekend since I was tired from not sleeping.

The walls were extremely thin in our room. We heard almost every move our neighbors made. We could hear their phone ringing and most of their conversations. We eventually had to call the front desk to ask them to quiet down. On the up side, they took care of it and called us back to make sure they had quiet down. Overall nice stay.

Hotel very nice. Rooms were great. Staff was efficient and pleasant. Only gripe was a reserved a room with double beds but when I arrived they only had rooms with one king bed.

Let me state the worst part first...the room was small for four people (2 adults and 2 small children). While the King size bed was large and comfortable, the room barely fit a roll-away and we were promised two roll-aways. And NO, two small children cannot fit on one roll-away. Also, there seemed to be a miserly quality (pillows for one person, towels […] and bathrobe for one person...even the chocolate was one). That was a complaints. Positives...WoW! The entire staff was curteous, professional, and went above and beyond when you needed something (extra towels, etc. arrived to our room in less than 2 minutes). Clean. I wish all hotels were this clean. Friendliness...our family ate brunch both mornings in the hotel restaurant and we felt like royalty. Pool and health-club area was clean and accessible. Back to the rooms...the shower water-temp was perfect, the shower heads are high enough (I am 6'7" tall). Read more

Quality as expected in a JW Marriott. Staff and food at the Grill was very good, but the decor was a bit run down. Location, across from the Galleria, is superb. Room was also very good, except for the bathroom. It was clean, but quite small, more like the room you would expect at a Holiday Inn than a Marriott.

This is an older hotel that did not start out as a Marriott. It does have a convenient location off of 610 and the Galleria. We asked for a room on an upper floor and were given the 5th floor. They did change us to another room on the 18th floor when we asked. Some rooms are odd angles and very small. They only have king or double beds in the hotel […] (no queen). I choose this hotel based off other reviews. I was shocked when we received our final bill. First no minifridge in our room! Really no fridge at all??? Second parking was $30.00 a NIGHT! Finally Internet cost is $12.95 per night, in a technology driven time paying $12.95 for 24 hours of service in a nice hotel is obsurred. I would stay across the street […] at one of two hotels in the mall. They are priced a little higher but valet and Internet are free and I'm sure they have minifridges. Overall me and my wife had a great experience. The proximity to the mall and shopping was great for her. The rooms were clean and we had a decent view of the city. All the amenities are available for a horel of this stature. The only downside was during the weekend it gets really busy, the valet can get overwhelmed with all the request so it can be […] slow. If you want to be in the heart of Houston's shopping/eating district, without the kids, this is the place for you. Great service! The exercise facilities and indoor/outdoor pool were the highlight for me. I would have liked a bigger bathroom, but the price was right for such great service.

The gym is 24h and the pool + gym area is very nice, with a big jacuzzi to relax after working out. Also real close to all shops and restaurants of the galleria. The only down is that the Starbucks stores is open only during the morning... no expressos in the afternoon or night anywhere else at the hotel!
