It was not a huge room, but we did not need it. It's cheap (compared to other hotels in london)...and we came here on holiday to see the city, the hotel is 2 or 3 blocks away from the underground station, and you can get EVERYWHERE from there.

The room we had was the family room which was clean and cozy. Even though we were on a main road it was very quiet and we were able to get a good nights sleep. The only inconvenience was in the bathroom, since it had a sloped ceiling we did not have a shower to stand in although it had a hand held shower attachment in the tub.. The price of the buffet breakfast that you can have at the hotel is a little pricey but it is served in a lovely garden room, cloth tablecloths, and a very good selection of fresh fruit, cold cereal, bacon, eggs cooked to order, a selection of muffins, bread. The Lodge Hotel has been recently renovated and has a pleasing modern feel. The bathroom was nicely upgraded with plenty of water pressure in the shower. The staff was very nice. Good location, approximately a 5 minute walk from the Tube station. Good pub and grocery stores nearby. There were only two problems we had with the room. The first was a […] squeaky floor. The noise was not troublesome for us, but we had concerns that it may be annoying to anyone below or beside us. We didn't hear similar noises from neighboring rooms, so this may not be an issue. The second problem was the temperature. The room was HOT at night. We turned the radiator down, and it was still HOT. We turned the radiator off, and it was still HOT. We suspect the heat was radiating from surrounding rooms. We resorted to opening windows - in February - when it was 35 degrees outside. This made the room comfortable, and as we were on the second floor, we felt safe leaving the windows open all night. We felt the location and cleanliness outweighed the squeaks, and would definitely consider the Lodge on future trips. We'll pack summer pajamas. Read more

A nice, little hotel with a nice, little room. Though the room was small it was well laid out so it never felt cramped. Upon entering the room after check-in, I noticed hair all over the beds. I immediately complained and they came to change the linen. The shower drain was clogged and it took 4 separate complaints over a period of 3 days for them to resolve the issue. Each time they said that it was taken care of - but only after I insisted that it needs to be fixed […] NOW, they finally sent someone who resolved the issue. Some (not all) of the reception attendants were rude and rather unfriendly attitude. There is no AC - the room is quite small - TV was tiny and my room was noisy due to people going up and down the stairs. The hotel is a 5-minute walk to the District line (London Underground) - but the District line is closed at times and caused massive headache for my commute into London! I have stayed in many hotels around the world - probably the worst one for the price I paid - definitely not worth staying here! Read more

Very happy with my stay, small room in the Eve's but otherwise all good. Service was good, staff very attentive. Didn't do brekie but could recommend the rowers breakfast about 100 metres down the road at Greg Wallace's place. I'll stay again.

A reasonably sized, well equipped room. We were pleased to be able to go into the room before 2pm to change for a wedding. Overnight we found the room temperature too warm. We had a wobbly table at breakfast, the waiter tried unsuccessfully to stabilise it by which time we'd asked to move table. I went to collect another meal to find no tomatoes, no […] mushrooms and no eggs. I requested these, but they arrived too late. In consequence, we complained to India at reception who handled the situation to our satisfaction by removing the cost of the meals from the bill, so thank you for that. Read more

Very good overall. Free parking and easy access to the tube station worked well for us. Our family room was a good size, and very clean and comfortable. The only downside is the very poor soundproofing and noisy floors - not a good combination!

I use this hotel when on business in London and it suits my needs. The bar area is a bit on the bland / boring side, but this is not a problem if I am working the next day as I don't drink. Stayed here with my Dad in a twin. Room and bathroom were small but clean and the beds were very comfortable. 5 minutes walk to East Putney tube so very handy if you want to take in the museums, Knightsbridge etc. For further afield, it's an easy change at Earls Cross to get onto the other lines. We had a room at the back so couldn't hear any traffic, […] apart from the planes, but that's to be expected. The Hotel is 5 minutes walk from Putney East Tube station and connected by several other London transports (train, bus)... The hotel is modern, very clean and considering the location affordable. I was meeting a gropu of the firends at the hotel, although only a couple of us were staying. We had some drinks in the bar before going out, and again on returning, and the staff were so nice and helpful. The room was a little small (No. 8) but clean and he ebds were comfortable.

The hotel is well-managed and staff go out of their way to assist guests. I especially appreciated the full-length, deep bath tub and the real Turkish towels! The Lodge is conveniently located near East Putney underground ( 5-minute walk), shopping (7 minute walk) and restaurants. Bus stop is at the entrance to the hotel.

We all stayed here when we went to watch Madonna in Hyde park. We slept in the family room that was directly opposite the reception doors to the right. It was very clean, spacious and the staff were helpful and friendly. The only negative thing I would say is that the doors kept opening and closing all night and it kept my friends awake. We had 2 rooms, very different. One room was air conditioned. It was called a suite with a king size bed and 2 single beds, but did not have any chairs only a single bench at the dresser. There was a shower but no tub. The other room, did not have any air conditioning. My partner and I stayed for 3 nights over the Christmas holiday whilst visiting family in Putney. A very warm welcome on arrival from the receptionist and speedy check in despite our having turned up an hour or so early. Unfortunately the hotel does not have a lift and we then had to climb 4 flights of stairs with luggage, Christmas presents etc. To […] our disappointment, despite having requested a non-smoking room, we were allocated a smoking room. Fortunately there was barely any odour, but as the majority of rooms are non-smoking, this was really not acceptable. The room (Executive) was reasonably spacious and very clean and warm, as was the bathroom with a powerful shower over a bath. We were at the back of the hotel which was nice and quiet. Unfortunately our breakfast on Christmas morning was appalling. All the food containers were practically empty and what remained was cold and dried up. (We were not late nor in the middle of a rush) I would not consider this breakfast good value or acceptable in terms of quality for even half the £12.50 per person they charge. Needless to say we did not bother for the next 2 mornings of our stay. I mentioned our experience to the receptionist when we checked out and she apologised and expressed surprise. There was no offer of a refund or a reduction in our bill. Despite the grouses, we probably would stay again if it was convenient for our purpose. The outstanding good point was the friendliness of the reception staff, all of them lovely. Read more

I have stayed at this hotel several times before; I used to live in Putney, so know the area well. The hotel is always friendly and comfortable, and the rooms clean. We stay at the Lodge several times a year because our daughter lives nearby. The service is always rather cold and not over friendly and often less than helpful. All the public rooms are always clean and tidy as are the bedrooms we have stayed in but the size of room varies enormously and despite requests we have failed to secure a bigger room even […] if we had one on a previous visit. Breakfast is very average and not worth the charge. A rather rowdy Christmas party was in full flow when we arrived back at the Lodge and despite appalling language and behaviour by an all female group, staff did nothing to tone things down or look after other residents. It is an interesting mix of old style architecture and new building. The room I had was an attic room so it had awkward angles. Also it had no air conditioning, which could be a problem in the summer. It had lovely furnishings and the stall is pleasant, but not extremely friendly. They were a little off putting.
