This is a decent hotel. The room was comfortable, clean and quiet. Valet parking is $35 plus tip and took about 25 minutes. Union Square is 1.5 blocks away so for shopping, restaurants, plays or whatever it's a great spot. Unfortunately the city of SF at street level is quite dumpy with lots of transients but that is not the hotels fault, but if you have kids I would suggest Fisherman's Wharf and for pets, Emeryville. The biggest downside of this hotel was $25 per night per pet for our 2 chihuahua's.

I did not get a wink of sleep the first night I was at the hotel due to heavy traffic noise. To the hotel's credit, they did change me to another room with less noise which should have been the case in the first place. I will never go back to this hotel again! In addition, the bathroom was too small with no ventilation and there wasn't even any water in the rooms. Lousy.

This hotel was perfect for a one night stay in San Francisco. The location is great - right in the heart of Union Square. At first glance, it is a trendy and swanky hotel. Upon further review, you see it's an old hotel with few cosmetic fixes for improvements. I give them credit for the large flat screen in the room and comfortable linens, but take away points for the window unit A/C and heating and rock hard mattress. My biggest gripe - getting the car parked. Upon arrival to the hotel, there was no one available to park our car, despite the valet sign. We waited in the car for several minutes before I went inside and asked if someone could park our car. I was told to double park it and someone would get it later. It was a little unsettling to leave the car double parked on the street, but we went with the flow. Trying to get the car the next day took over 30 minutes. Be forewarned they don't have on-site parking and will park the car over 6 blocks away. All in all, I give this hotel a solid 3 stars.

The Diva Hotal was situated close to Union Square and across from the Curran Theater, which was a definte positive. It also was close to public transportation and the Cable Cars, so you could travel whereever you wanted around the city. The rooms are large and decorated in a retro decor. The down side of the hotel is that inspite of it being clean, the rooms look rather worn and in need of some updating of furnishings. For the price though it was a real bargain.

I booked a room at this hotel based on reviews I'd read. Having stayed there I can confirm what others have said. The room was clean, comfortable and well maintained. The staff proved to be very helpful with any questions we had. The rooms are not huge but that is to be expected in a metropolitan hotel and I will say that there was enough room to not feel cramped. I would recommend the Diva to others who are looking for a clean room in a convenient area of the city.

When I got there they were packing up but the asst. immediately unpacked me a cup and was happy to do it. Wish there were free snacks too but no worries. I could see how noise could be an issue but our room location on the 5th floor was fine. Only noise issues was in the morning with the garbage in the alley but that is city life. Would stay here again!

The staff was very friendly and the hotel is in a good location near Union Square. The room was clean and well furnished although small but its San Francisco and most buildings are old with smaller rooms so was expected. A note the elevator is small and slow but only 7 floors so not a big issue. Has lounges on every floor for guests to use which is a nice touch; The internet on those computers or the free wireless internet in your rooms was a good speed. I enjoyed my stay there and will stay at Hotel Diva again.

This hotel is quirky - and fun with a dedicated staff and mod/hipster design. Located just off Union Square the location is easy - lots of easy places to walk (but don't drive and try to park). I stay here a few times a year and enjoy it. There is no bar, and the lobby is small (no real place to sit and meet with someone), but the rooms are designed to make you fill like a hipster and the staff is excellent. Most of the year this is a great value hotel!

We wish we could have stayed longer, it was a wonderful experience and we are definitely going to stay there again next time.

Great hotel, solid 3 stars as indicated. Friendly and accommodating staff. Room was a bit small but that is expected of a small hotel in San Francisco. Great decor. Perfect location. Parking is troublesome. Although parking is valet, it's not the kind of valet where you toss them your keys and walk away. Being a small hotel in tight quarters, you must help move your car into the "white zone" while the valet shuffles the cars around. They do caution you that the wait time is about 20 minutes to retrieve your car, so plan accordingly.

This hotel is well located in the Union Square section. Our room was clean but small with a queen bed. My wife described the furnishings as "Ikea chic." Parking for just a little less than the hotel rate was available at a nearby 24 hour garage. My issues were 1) the bathtub faucet was so pronounced from the wall that it made it difficult to stand under the shower head without hitting your legs on it, (clearly this was put in place by an interior designer who was more concerned about form than function) and 2) the on-the-wall hairdryer clearly needed to be replaced.
