I needed to travel on a low budget for a last minute engagement. I wasn't aware there was a Super 8 in Universal City. My past experiences, in general, were not so great. I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the room. I stayed 2 nights and would be happy to stay again. The night front desk attendant was very cordial and helpful. Thank you!

Only stayed one night. Was just looking for a comfortable bed - nothing fancy. My mom's room had not been cleaned. Bedding was all over the floor. When we went to bed, we discovered there was no fitted sheet on the bed, so we struggled trying to keep the mattress covered up. TV reception was really bad. Dirty towel in our bathroom.

We did not found that out until we were completed unpack and everyone were settle down. We have 5 kids, so we decided to take the room anyway because we were tire and only had to stay for one night. That one night room temperature was hot and no ones can sleep.

The directions given from the sales rep with Hotel.com were incorrect. I requested to stay between downtown San Antonio and Sea World on I-35 and found the motel far north of San Antonio. After checking in, I called the front desk for some more pillows, because the one's on the bed had absolutely no support. Randy, the night shift desk clerk, said there was nothing he could do about it. There was no House keeping onsite until the morning. Next,I left to walk the poorly lighted property for a soda machine. To my misfortune, all three soda machines did not work, and one even took my money. I had to leave at 12:30am to grab sodas so we could drink something with the food we ordered from a not so close restuarant. The next morning, my family went to take showers only to find there was just two. So, again, I called the front desk requesting for house keeping to bring by a couple more bath towels. At 9:00am, Kathy, the front desk rep. said "There was no house keeping on site, but that I could walk down to the laundry room and get what I needed." As I left my room, I saw not just one cart but two in front of other rooms. When I made my way into the laundry room, I met two ladies. I asked one of them "are you housekeeping?" One responded yes. Furious, I called the front desk and spoke with Kathy to inform her that I ran into housekeeping and that I needed to speak with her manager. Her response was,"there is no manager." I asked "so what happens in cases where you are not equipped to answer or solve a problem?" "She said I am sorry but I am the only one here." My response was, "you hsve not been forthcoming with me already who's to say you are speaking truthfully right now over such a small matter?" I did not give her a chance to respond. I only asked for the night clerk's name. She would not give me his last name or her last name. Nor would she give me the name of a manager or any employee ID to reference with this matter. I thought a shower would make me feel better, but i

Microwave and cooking supplies were in the lobby, which wasn't a big deal. The staff at the hotel were incredibly friendly and helpful. It wasn't the greatest hotel in the world, but it was absolutely worth what we paid for it.

Super 8 meet the wife's and my needs for a basic room at a reasonable price upon a short notice in a location nearest to our intended visit. Nothing fancy, but I really wasn't expecting it to be. There were some issues that would have made our stay better. Housekeeping missed a wash cloth that prior occupant left hanging on shower head. Water faucet leaked excessively from cold water knob while in use causing anything nearby to get soaked. I could not get the free WiFi Internet access to work with my MacBook. I could see the access point listed and could get a strong signal, but the router would not assign an IP address for my computer. Staff at the front desk didn't seem knowledgeable in solving my problem and I couldn't get an answer from an operator using the toll free tech support number listed in the room for help with Internet connectivity.

My stay at Super 8 Universal City was a good one. The room was clean, check in/out was prompt with no problems, and we had nothing that caused major problems. The hotel street was a little hard to find off of the highway- we got lucky and there was a billboard telling us to look for the next right and the hotel would be there. My only complaint was about the housekeeping staff. The schedule in the room said that housekeeping would begin around 11am. Our first day there, Saturday, they knocked on our door at 10:30 and then were upset when we asked them to return later. Sunday was even worse and they came by at 9:30. Overall, though, the stay was nice.

The walls in the bathroom are tile and nobody ever closed the door to clean the wall behind it Yuck!!! The air conditioner needs repaired or something, everytime the compressor came on it woke us up...it sounded like a motorcyle starting in our room. We had a room with two beds, one of the beds was so bad, you rolled to the center if you tried to lay in it. The other bed was not great but okay. The pillows were flat, we asked for two extras and they didn't want to give them to us??? Also we requested extra towels and we were told to return the dirty ones then we could have more, They only gave us two, I wanted the extras my daughter and I to use for our hair. Over all not good experience. But we had a blast on our vacation.
