Shuttle to airport was great. Minimum parking fee per day for each day not staying at the hotel. Good value. Stayed two nights. The room the second night was better than the first, so must be renovating gradually. They just changed name to Comfort Inn so improvements are being made. rooms make an outdated impression. Rooms on the ground level are too noisy as walls and doors are badly insulated against noise coming from outside. "Would never stay here again!"
When we arrived the staff was very friendly & accommodating. Then we went to the room-it smelled of dampness and stale air. The carpets were very old and in need of updating. We had 4 small square pillows on the bed - requested a couple more and were told they think they were all out if extra pillows. These were definitely not bed pillows but the size […] of ones you would see on a couch. We had to ask 3 more times and finally at 9:30 at night received 2 more pillows. When we woke up in the morning my husband noticed that at the foot of the bed the comforter (white) had old dried bloodstains on it. We were thoroughly disgusted. We told the front desk and they said that when we check out they will have someone look into it. "CONVENIENT BUT IMPROVEMENTS REQUIRED"
Our overall experience as good. This was our 2nd time staying at Comfort Inn, in part due to the mall being walking distance away. However, I had ordered some items online and had them shipped to the hotel. A $500 tablet which I shipped was delivered the Tuesday prior to our arrival (Friday). However, when I enquired I was told that it was not rec'd. […] Despite advising them of the name of the person who signed, the time and everything, both the hotel supervisor and staff who signed for the package insisted that they did not receive it (claims they rec'd packages in bulk and just signed en masse, but didn't actually get that particular package, altho package came by itself). They also refused to accept any responsibility. It wasn't until the final day (4 days' later) after showing them an email from the shipper confirming delivery, that the Mgr, who was off for the weekend, realized he had packages locked in his office, among them was my package!!! A better system needs to be put in place! While it was nice to have an in-room safe and mini-fridge, the toilet ran constantly, despite the mtnce person claiming he fixed it. The air-conditioner also tripped off and took forever to trip back in. This was unacceptable and particularly uncomfortable for our friend who could not sleep due to the heat and her sinuses were blocked. The shuttle took over an hour to pick us up at the airport at 11 pm. Then the driver went on to argue with me that I was waiting in the wrong location after I had called the hotel front desk directly to confirm pick up time and location. "Close to FLL airport and Port Everglades"
I got this place on account of the free shuttle service to and from Port Everglades and Fort Lauderdale airport at a good price. But that is also a problem. Think of cruise ship customers getting off the boat early in the morning, take the free shuttle to the hotel before 10am. The rooms are not ready for a few hours. Store the luggages. Walk to the […] fast food joints. That takes an hour. Stand around the relatively small hotel lobby with seating for a dozen people the rest of the time hoping for an early check in. Now think of a few dozen of people doing the same thing. On top of that another few dozen of people trying to get to the cruise ship port at the same time, waiting for the shuttle with all their big luggages that they cannot possibly handle on their own and you get the picture. It could have been worse, it could have been raining. On the bright side, the hotel staff was very efficient. While no one was in a pleasant mood, things were moving along. One jerk was making a big scene, complaining that he has been there since 10:30 in the morning. It is now 1:30 and he has no room yet. (The official check in time was 3:00 pm.) But the guy would not let go. Wants his money back, grab everybody in the lobby to complain about it. The manager worked the whole thing calmly and apparently did not yield to his unreasonable complains. Well, the rooms were of decent size. We ordered one twin bed on Expedia, but they have us a room with two queen size beds, so that was nice. The free shuttle to and from the airport is a nice perk since taxis are so expensive. The shower was nice. We arrived 930 am at the hotel after a red eye flight. We called from the airport and were told to go ahead and come to the hotel, that they would put us on a list to get a room before check in. Overall we were very pleased. Things got rather hectic when we tried to store our luggage for a few hours (between check out and shuttle time) as we were told we could, but it worked out okay.
