"Close to Airport"
Pros: Clean and comfortable room. Cons: Our flight was for 6:00am and their shuttle didn't start until 5:00am, so we had to get a taxi. They recommended a taxi, which was terrible. Driver didn't assist with luggage and drove like he was drunk. The hotel was fine for my purpose. It was in a great location and easy access to Rt95 and Rt595. And the price was very good. I found the staff to be very friendly. The hotel looked promising online, but we had a poor experience. The hotel staff was not courteous (did not make eye contact, picked up their phone to call someone while you are standing at the front desk, not friendly in general). And the room was not clean. "Overnight before a cruise"
I stayed at the Quality Inn & Suites Airport/Cruise Port South for one night before leaving on a cruise. The key reasons for staying was a national name hotel/motel, complimentary shuttle from the airport and to the cruise port as well as complimentary breakfast. The room was old and in need of renovation. The sheets were clean and the room quiet except for the A/C unit which was loud throughout the night. The room has a number of cosmetic items that looked poor and made me worry about the overall cleanliness of the room. The breakfast was nothing special and it was very crowded. We felt the breakfast was something we wouldn't do again. So, the benefit of the hotel/motel really was the free transportation. "Not good !!!"
I had never stayed at this hotel before but the price was very good so I gave it a shot. I really did not expect the room to be any thing special, which it was not but that did not bother me. What bothered me was the fact the second night I was there I came back around midnight and there was absolutely no place to park in the lot, I had to wait a 1/2 […] hour while the security person walked around to try to find me a safe place to put my car. Needless to say I was completely annoyed and tired. Later that same night at 3 am some hotel guests were outside my door smoking cigarettes and being really loud talking on their cell phones, which obviously woke me up, again I had to wait for security to come and tell the to be quiet. I don't think Ill be staying there again in the future, more so bc of the parking situation they tried to explain it had to do with people parking there prior to a cruise or something but did not say they had a solution to this problem. We spent the afternoon exploring the nearby shopping center that went on and on. Both times we used the shuttle (from the airport and then to the cruise port the next day we were pleased with the service). The people sitting around the pool seemed to be enjoying it. "Quality Inn not so common experience"
I checked in November 26 around 8:00 p.m. and checked out November 28 around 7:00a.m. but could not leave the premises until around 9:00a.m.. The reason is that I was blocked by a big truck and could not maneuver to get out of my parking space. I informed the desk attendant that there was a truck blocking my way. She promised to call maintenance to […] have the truck moved. 30 minutes or so after breakfast, nothing was done to let me out. I went back to the front desk and was told that the manager was coming my way to assess the situation. I went to my car and waited another 15 minutes. When I noticed that nothing was happening, I sent my son back to the front desk to complain. He came back and told me that the manager on duty Theresa said she knows who the truck belongs to. Note that Theresa never came to me to apologize for the inconvenience. I guess I was not such an important customer therefore I was not entitled to anything. Finally, a man came driving a van and scolded me for not getting out claiming that I had enough room to maneuver and requested my car's key. I refused to hand it to him and he moved the truck to let me out. I was in the area for business purpose and reached my destination late when I was supposed to be there by 8:00a.m. It was a big inconvenience and I feel that I was not treated right by Quality Inn's administration. Stayed overnight to arrive at cruise port early; shuttle was a little late therefore we didn't arrive as early to cruise port as we wanted. There were a lot of people doing the same as us so it was crowded. Breakfast was okay, workers were going as fast as they could to keep things stocked (doing a good job).
