Dining
Ancho’s - Located in the atrium, this airy restaurant offers a dinner menu of steaks, pastas, and salads. A rotating selection of weekday lunch buffets is also available. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Atrium Lounge - This small bar across from the restaurant serves cocktails and a light menu from late afternoon until evening. Hours of operation vary. A breakfast cart with coffee and pastries is open each morning.
Recreation
The hotel’s rooftop patio features a heated splash pool, spa tub, and expansive views of downtown Austin. The fitness center has cardio machines, free weights, and a dry sauna. Guests can also request a complimentary in-room Get Fit Kit, which includes a floor mat, two dumbbells, and elastic bands.
Runners, walkers, and bicyclists flock to the Town Lake Hike and Bike Trail, less than one mile away. The trail circles the lake formed by a dammed stretch of the Colorado River. On-water activities include kayaking, canoeing, and fishing. Bicycles, canoes, and kayaks can be rented within a few miles of the hotel. At least nine golf courses are less than 10 miles away. Horse-drawn carriage rides are available around downtown.

I paid quite a bit less than other hotels in the downtown area were priced. The staff was helpful, although the front desk always seemed to be crowded, so getting help could take a few minutes. Room was clean and comfortable. Parking was expensive, but that's to be expected downtown. In summary, my stay was about exactly what I would expect for the price.

The bed was SOOOO comfortable. Great pillows and sheets...a nice escape. And although I was right off 6th street Austin, It was amazingly quiet. Nice bathroom as well, fantastic shower-head!

"ACL Weekend"

We stayed here during the 2009 ACL festival weekend. The location was very convenient in that we were able to walk about 6 blocks to the shuttle pickup location at 4th and Guadalupe. The hotel is also within a couple blocks of 6th St. We were satisfied with the hotel and related service and would stay there again for this event. I only have a few pieces of constructive criticism. One, it was difficult to get the a/c in our room turned down enough to a comfortable temperature, but we were able to figure it out by the second night. Two, and I imagine this is specific only to big event weekends such as ACL and SXSW, there was extremely tight guest monitoring at night after 10pm. All guests in each room were required to register and provide their name at the time of check in. According to their policy, if a person didn’t register in the room upon check in, they were not permitted upstairs after 10pm. We did not test this policy. In practice, prior to accessing the elevator bank (after 10pm), every person had to show an ID which was cross-checked against the guest list before being allowed to go up to their room. I appreciate trying to maintain sufficient security and preventing parties from getting out of hand, but this seemed like overkill. And, this is coming from someone who is not really the partying type. Lastly, there are two view types – street side and an atrium view. The atrium view is the quieter room as you don’t get the noise from 6th St; however, the hotel shares the atrium with an attached Omni office building. Some may find it odd to look out of your window and see an office worker staring back at you across the atrium. As I mentioned, overall an enjoyable stay, just some quirks to be aware of should you find yourself looking for a different experience.

"Amazing"

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Everything you need is within immediate walking distance. Pool up on the roof is REALLY small (3 feet deep throughout, probably no wider than 10 feet, but who cares? it was a great break from the ridiculous heat down there haha) but there is a bar up there so I couldn't have cared less. The ac made the room cool in about 20 minutes, wish they would have had a fridge in there but what can you do? Nice tv, nice shower, but I was most shocked by the gym. Usually hotel gyms have one old treadmill, a couple weights and that's it. This gym was IMPRESSIVE! Lots of cardio machines, treadmills, tv's, mirrors...I will stay here every time I come to Austin!

I enjoyed it. The housekeeping was very slow and did not ever show up until after 4pm. The pool area is small and the bar did not open until like 3pm. But overall good. Even a awesome celeb siting

Chose location over another similar priced hotel due to the pool...which was a mistake. Pool was very small, water was murky & had beer cans floating in it. Room was ok, though carpet was stained and had to pay for wifi, which I thought was to be included. I would not stay at this hotel again.

The hotel was great, the location was excellent the room was very nice but the guest staying on our floor were very noisy and woke us up. We reported it to the front desk and they took care of it promptly. The hotel was clean and well kept and the pool was nice on the rooftop but very tiny! Still all in all, I would go back for another stay! Good value for the price!

"Two hotels in one"

When I first arrived I was given a run down older room on the outside of the hotel. It was a disappointment and much too noisey. I asked for a change. They moved me to a wonderful room on the inside atrium which was new and modern. Be sure to ask for the new rooms lest you be disappointed. If I had not asked to move I would have been miserable.

I have stayed at the same Omni Hotel one time before but this time was execptionally great! From the moment I valeted my vehicle to the moment I checked out, we were treated like royalty. Check-in was great, staff was great, location was great, room was great. Only thing that was not great was that I happened to be placed in an adjoining room next to a few very loud people. Security did come up and ask them to keep it down and (at 4:30am) offered to put me in a different room. Hotel staff was very nice, but overall I slept about 3.5 hours before a very long day. Would stay at the hotel again, but would ask for a room that does not have an adjoining door.

Had to call room service 3 times and listen to 2 minutes of ringing before finally getting through to someone. Then, when I requested a comb and toothpaste, it took over 2 hours to deliver it. The front desk is overly nice and accomodating, so it was surprising to have such a difficult time with room service. Maybe just a bad day. Other than that it's pretty nice. Hot tub and pool on the roof are nice with an amazing view of the city.

Very nice hotel. The parking was an issue hard to locate and the fact we had to pay to park. We were told that you had to have a ID at night to come in to hotel and that you had to be on list or registered to proceed. Otherwise hotel was nice and great location but a little overpriced for what you got.

The hotel is in an excellent central location, and upon entering, the front desk staff were efficient and courteous. The room was spacious, and the bed extremely comfortable. Nice big flat screen tv was a nice touch. The only gripes I had was the bathroom was absolutely huge, but no garden tub.. Just a standard size. Also, the self parking was $18/day. This is Austin people, not New Orleans or New York! All in all, I would definitely stay here again.

It was our first time in austin, and the omni was a perfect place to stay, beautiful hotel, the hot tub on the roof was amazing and the concierges were very helpful. Also the sleep policy is great, we had some noisy neighbors and all we had to was call the lobby and they took care of it right away! We will be back!

"Great Value for this Downtown Omni"

Our experience was a pleasant surprise. We were in the heart of Austin and within a minutes walk to all the hot spots. We were also happy that we could self park which allowed us to come and go without worrying about valet parking. The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. When I go back to Austin with my family, I will definitely stay at the Omni.

Great view of Austin if you luck out with the right window. Convenient location for the party goers and plenty of nice to decent restaurants in walking distance. Tip the concierge with medium bills and the street people with small denomination bills.
