"Hotel Seattle - just fine."
We picked this hotel based on location, bc it's perfect for doing touristy Seattle. As long as you go in knowing the hotel is old and parking is a somewhat expensive pain, you'll enjoy it just fine. Like I said, the hotel is old with out of date decor, but it's clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. Location was just a few blocks from the wharf […] and the market. Parking is in a non-affiliated garage two blocks from the hotel and at $35/night not cheap. Also, be aware that if you go in and out of the garage, you'll be charged the hourly rate, not the nightly rate. So best to walk, cab, or bus it (all convenient to hotel). "Good location; condition not so good"
The location in downtown Seattle is excellent - close to everything. Unfortunately it's very dated and not very well maintained. Carpets are badly worn. Wallpaper was hanging off the wall in the bathroom. Television was terrible (no viewable channel).Genuine Expedia guest review
Excellent location but the rooms are a little scary!:)Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location & friendly staffs"

While the location was good, the hotel needed a good amount of TLC. There were stains on the floor and the bathroom was not great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location & price. I'd stay here again."
Before staying in this hotel I read all of the other reviews and expected the place to be a dump. Turns out that yes, its an old building with old furniture but it was perfectly located to Downtown Seattle. The two words I would use to describe the hotel with are charming and character. The hotel is one block away from the University St Station so its […] easy to take the link from SeaTac Airport. If you need a car at some point during the visit you can walk a few blocks to a National Rental. The hotel is exactly next store to a Starbucks (I know big surprise in Seattle haha). The rooms are small and the furniture/bedding is older but definitely comfortable, safe, and clean. This is where we'll stay again if we take another strip to Seattle. This barebones hotel did the trick because it's SO well located, and I'd stay there again - but the toilet wouldn't flush the first night... and the man behind the desk wouldn't give my friend and me two tourist maps of Seattle even though we were going in different directions. "One is enough," he said. That was a first in my hotel experience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"I hope location is worth it."
We booked a room for two nights for a brief stay in Seattle. The hotel is located in a bit of a questionable part of town, but it's just up the hill from the waterfront and within walking distance of everything, so it seemed like a perfect location for a cheaper rate than the other hotels in the area (the W Hotel is just up the block). We knew we were […] in for a rough couple of nights as we stood in the lobby and waited for the elevator. It took 11 minutes to travel 11 floors. The room was large and dated, with peeling paneling, water stains, and thin shabby drapes. The room hasn't evolved since 1977. The TV had 4 fuzzy channels of reception. The shower did not drain. In order to shower, you had to be willing to wade through 6 inches of standing water. Disgusting. We told the housekeeper when she was in our room. She said it was a "slow drain" and she'd told the maintenance man, but he didn't care. Her advice? Don't use much water when showering. There is no bathroom counter to put anything when getting ready--no place to set so much as a toothbrush. There is no lid on the toilet--it's an industrial model like you'd find in a school. Why would you want your toothbrush by such a toilet anyways . . . ? There is no toilet paper holder. The housekeeper, when we saw her a couple of times, made sure to tell us how exhausted she was--just plain wore out--so that we actually felt guilty for not making our bed. Parking is off-site and will cost you $32 a day. Factor that into your room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Hotel horror movie"
Hotel Seattle..... Worst hotel experience of my life! I have traveled a lot in the US and abroad and this is the most filthy, disgusting hotel I have ever set foot in. I expected it to be basic because of the price, but not filthy and run down. I felt like I was in a crack house on skid row!!! I even tried to book another hotel in Seattle but everything […] in the city was booked. It was a super busy weekend. I wish I could post pics of the room on this web site because me and my friend took a few. I think I will post them on yelp or Google. So...to sum it up Hotel Seattle should be closed down. "Conveniently located. Worn and needs upgrading."
The staff was very nice and helpful, but the room left a lot to be desired. No screens on windows, the curtain rods were bent and hanging and the sink leaked and was coming away from the wall. There wasn't one hook in the bathroom to hang a towel/clothes while showering. Carpet was stained. Wifi was only available in the lobby. One rickety elevator. The Hotel is very old and Dirty. It needs a make over.Ice machine didn't work. The staff could not help with anything. My TV remote did not work. "Great One Night Stand"
I have spend one night stays at Hotel Seattle for the past two years both times in July. The staff is friendly and resourceful despite being busy. I checked my bags early in the morning as checkin for the roomwas not until later, this allowed me to go sight seeing. The staff informed me where to us the Light Rail to travel to Sea Tac airport, this saved […] a considerable expense. The hotel and room was as others have described. There is no ac, no screens on the windows, and no restraints on the windows. The room was cool in the evening so I was able to close the windows to shut out the city noise. The pillows would not soften up despite left and right jabs and not even an upper cut had any impact. Muhammed Ali would be envious of the pillows rope-a-dope tactic. Otherwise, the room was clean and acceptable. The location is EXCELLENT and the low price met my budgetary needs. The fellow guests were quiet and respectful. The public library is right around the corner with many resources and I had a helpful staff person assist me. The hotel met my modest needs and since I was traveling solo I made do. "A lot of fake reviews on here..."
Not the nicest but not the crappiest... I think these other reviewers are staying at the four seasons. Average hotel price in downtown Seattle 300 +... This runs you 135 with parking uhhh duhh book it. Plus it's very vintage and mystique. You can walk 5 or so blocks to The Market. We loved it. Well for the 8 hours we slept in the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Old hotel good location to sights."
Hotel was fairly clean but in GREAT need of a remodel. There is no AC but is was cool enough when we stayed that is was comfortable with the window open. "Close, but no cigar"
I stayed at the Hotel Seattle to save money, and because I wasn't going to spend much time inside the hotel. Much to my dismay, there is NO housekeeping services (except when you leave). The paint is peeling off the walls in the small (unlit) closet, and it looks to have been that way for 20 years. The shower curtain is hardly water-resistant. The TV […] channels are limited to five (and not such good ones at that). The front desk people are helpful. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"The good point about this hotel is its location!"
I would never stay here again,I've stayed in better youth hostels. it looks like a set from a 1970 slasher movie, very run down and dirty, the bed was dropping to bits, the curtains didn't fit the windows, didn't close and were see through and the electric points didn't work. We were on the 11th floor but all you could hear all night was the rickety […] old lift going up and down ALL NIGHT, so no sleep. "Probably won't kill you."
No amenities whatsoever (that means no alarm clock, batteries in the TV remote, more than three TV channels, closet, and so on). It was clean, and the hot water and door lock worked. "You pay for location with this one"
Stayed here for two nights during a week spent in Seattle. The hotel is NOT updated at all. The room that we stayed in was very, very small. There was not a lot of room for two people to move around. It was pretty dingy, thought not filthy. Probably not professionally cleaned, but nothing made me squeamish about touching anything. Carpets are old, worn […] and stained. The bathroom was very no frills, right down to no toilet paper holder on the wall. The toilet paper sits on top of the towel rack which is mounted over the toilet. No real counter space for toothbrushes, contact lenses (for those of us who wear them) or, for that matter toilet paper. Bathroom and shower were clean enough, though the water temperature is VERY inconsistent. Bed was a full, and the mattress was definitely old and not very comfortable. Sheets were clean, which was a plus. There is no a/c, and no fan. We traveled in the summer, and it was definitely very, very warm and keeping the window, which has no screen (on the 11th floor) open wasn't very helpful. We did not sleep well the first night. No wi.fi, except for in the lobby sitting room. Staff were very friendly. We decided to book this hotel because of the affordable price and the location. The location is great and centrally located to almost everything, including the light rail, Safeco, bars, restaurants, Pikes Place, etc. If you can deal with dinginess, and only need a place to crash at night, this should be adequate. "This hotel is all about location, ONLY!"
This place is what it is, a way below average hotel with a good location. Tiny, stiff, uncomfortable beds. Old crusty towels. I leaned on the sink while shaving and the sink gave way without warning. "First and last stay at the Hotel Seattle"
Decent location... no parking. Closest place to park overnight is a block and a half away for $38.00 per night. Place is pretty run down. "Great location but horrible rooms"
I went with my family we rented 4 rooms. All had problems from stained ceilings, stained comforters, old fixtures etc. This is a one star hotel in a 4 star location. There is no parking except 3 blocks away at 35.00 per night. This is good for single guys looking for a place to crash one night. It is not refurbished as we were told.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

This hotel was convenient and comfortable. It made it very easy to get to King Street station early in the morning so convenience was the winner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Although the room was clean everything was very old. The room was hot and stuffy and we had no control over it....no thermostat. "Old Hotel, Needs a lot of work bathroom cracks"
They were nice enough to hold our suite cases. Gave us great directions. Told us they has a resturant down stairs but I guess they are not open for dinner. We had to go somewhere else. Front desk staff give the driver the wrong pier number and we where taken to the wrong pier. Had to pay again to get to the right location.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Decent hotel in GREAT location"
I'd read the reviews on Yelp.com, so I knew what I was getting into. It is CLEAN, the decor just isn't the greatest. It offers the bare basics, though more than 1 pillow would be nice. The lack of WiFi was the only "ugh" part. The location is GREAT, there are good restaurants around and a Starbucks around the corner. "Dump in a great location."
Just tear this place down. We had to stay here because everything else under $500 a night was sold out but I never dreamed it would be as bad as it was. Check in guy extremely rude, lost our reservation and was not at all concerned about sorting it out. We were later told by another employee that he was tired so his behavior should be viewed with that […] in mind! The room was discusting. TV did not work. Bathroom vanity broken. Linens flimsy and of questionable cleanliness. "Was very happy!!"
I was very happy with Hotel Seattle. After reading the reviews I was expecting a real dump. Not so.... It is a little run down, yet its an old building. "Convenient location, simple and cheap.1 night only"
We stayed here for one night prior to leaving for our cruise out of the Seattle seaport. It was $13+tip for a cab to the pier. It was easy to find and easy to get to and from, with train/bus stations close by and it was walkable to many top tourist spots. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was dated and had older furnishings, but it fit the […] bill for a quick/affordable overnight stop and we were there to sleep. It was quiet and clean. This is not a 5 star hotel but for a night before and after a cruise it is all we had hoped for.
