"Perfect Location with helpful staff"
Of all the staff Francesco at the front desk was extremely friendly, helpful and personable. The entire staff was very professional and Antonietta, the head housekeeper, was an absolute gem. The two bartenders Ekaterina and Alessandra were pleasant and young and beautiful and I tought them how to make a proper gin martini. The location of the hotel […] is perfect. The view from the rooftop was amazing. It was right by the main transportation hub for the Vatican, so if you needed to get anywhere in or near Rome, you could get to it from there. At the same time, it was not in the over-touristed portion of town with the high prices and junk vendors and crowds. Rather, the local places to grab a capuccino or a bite to eat or even go shopping were all places where the locals went. If you are the kind of traveller who would rather spend time in a little cafe surrounded by locals who don't know English than in a place will a staff well versed in English and the other customers who need it, then I think you would prefer this location. While we were there, we were not averse to walking and were able to see almost all of Rome by foot. However we were also able to take the metro and buses to the farther points like Trastavere and Ostia. We took a bus to the Colleseum, but others in the hotel walked there and back. There is a very nice buffet style breakfast that would satisfy American and European alike. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The front desk staff was at times rude and unhelpful. The lift was very tiny and couldn't hold my mother and her wheelchair. This hotel is not wheelchair accessible. Free Wifi is only available in the lobby and downstairs lounge area, otherwise you have to pay per hour. The shuttle is only free at arrival. There was a 4 Euro fee per person to take the […] shuttle to the airport on our way home. The location is excellent for visiting the Vatican complex but is quite a distance from other attractions and the airport. I definitely wouldn't consider this a four star hotel. We could only adjust the heat in the room by opening the window. It became very warm at night. The breakfast was good. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great hotel. Great staff. Free continental breakfast and cappucino's. Unlimited mineral water. Clean hotel. Tiny elevator that moved very slowly, so I avoided it. Recommend. Great location.Genuine Expedia guest review

"There are three Atlante hotels within 2 blocks"
We booked the Atlante Garden with free pickup at the A/P and buffet breakfast each day. They were there to pick us up and very nice buffet breakfasts were provided as promised. The staff is very nice and accomodating. However, be alert to the possibility that you may not be staying where you think you will be. Atlante has three hotels within a few […] blocks of each other: the Star (best) Garden (next) and olympic (OK). They overbook and then, if they don't have a room in the hotel booked ,they just move you. This worked out very well for us because we booked the Garden and, after a night in the Olympic, were transferred to the Star for the bulk of our stay. The Star is great. The roof garden and Les Etoiles restaurant below it provide a stunning panorama of the Vatican and the rest of Rome. It's really all you could ask for. But if you book it directly you probably will pay much more for the privilege. And you may not get to stay there for your entire visit. I observed one couple being turned away at the check-in desk at the Star and shunted off to either the Garden or the Olympic, for a night or two, before returning because there were no rooms available. All the hotels are nice and comfortable but the stress of unpacking and repacking and schlepping between facilities is not generally appealing to vacationers from abroad after long flights, etc. So, if you're going to book, be careful. "Leave the room to change your mind"
The hotel was nice but the room was so small I couldn't walk around the bed. It was warm in the room and I had to open the window which was fine if you liked the crashing of bottles and glass all night long and the constant sirens. The breakfast was very good and the servers were polite and very accomodating. The room was clean and it was my first experience […] in Italy or Europe so maybe I expected more from a 4 star hotel than a 10 by 10 room. I saw other rooms as I walked by and I knew I had the smallest room in the hotel but I had booked what I thought was a bigger room. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Proximity to the Vatican"
The day service staff are very friendly, helpful, courteous and accomodating, except the morning breakfast attendant is not, At 5.45 A.M. working in the computer, I went to ask for a cup of coffee, she said no. Not customer-friendly. Do not deserve exposed to customers. Night shift service desk employee is rude and does not speak good English. But the […] day attendants are keepers. "Nice hotel, very close to the Vatican and subway"
A nice, relatively small hotel with excellent staff and, as I discovered, really great air conditioning. I cannot overstate how important good a/c is if you visit Rome in August. They offer transfers to the airport as well. The breakfast service is great.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Recommended in Busy Rome"
Nice hotel, friendly staffs. Close to Vatican and Metro. A lots of cool and well priced local restaurant around (not touristic ones) We found large super market 2 min walk from hotel which was really handy to buy fresh fruits and see Romanian shopping. We do recommend it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"MY POINT OF VIEW"
-There is not free wi-fi and when paid should be performed to an outsurcing and no receipt is given if not requested -There is no security box at the room -The elevator is too small -No invoice for the prepayment I made was furnished - Is very close to the Vatican -is a familiar hotel - Breakfast is cheap and deliciousGenuine Expedia guest review

"Atlante Garden Hotel"
I was pleased with the hotel overall. Much more comfortable than a hostel or cheaper hotel. The noise wasn't as big as an issue as I thought it might be being next to a busy street, but its something you can't avoid. The street noise is always there, day or night. The only issue I had in regards to the hotel itself, was the expectation of the beautiful […] rooftop they depicted on the Hotel website...its nothing like it made it seem. You can barely see the Vatican from the rooftop, mainly just other condos and building rooftops. The one spot you could actually see the tip of St Peter's Basilica was closed off. This however, did not ruin any part of my vacation, it was just a little disappointing. Overall, I would recommend this hotel for the stay and friendly staff. They were very helpful and spoke English very well which was our main concerns (language barriers). Also, the area the hotel was located was very accessible to many main attractions and a short walk to the metro. The rooms have thick blackout curtains which help to get a good nights sleep. The elevator is quite small, might take you 2 trips if you have more people and more luggage, otherwise, you might be taking the stairs. Also, don't be fooled! they say the lobby has free Wi-Fi, but you only get a 5 minute trial and then you have to pay extra for further usage. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent location to be near the Vactian."
I wish we would have taken the breakfast every day. The only thing we didn't like was the situation with the WIFI. For a four star it should be in the rooms and free. We appreciated the pickup and to be taken to the airport.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Weekend at Rome..."
I have to agree with the rest of the guest that have stayed at this hotel, the location is great just about 7-10 minutes walk to the Vatican and shopping area. But it is NOT a four star hotel. Everything is old (blow dryer, outlets, phones, and decor). If you get a room towards the front it will be noisy at night. The bed is so, so, good enough to sleep […] after a long day of walking. Franchesco the front desk clerk was not helpful at all, I am glad that Foster was able to help us out. Overall, I would give this hotel a two and a half stars. If you are only planning on sleeping it will be fine. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Near the Vatican"
The hotel was good. It was a reasonable walk to the heart of the city, but not in it. It's on a quiet street and near some busier areas, but we preferred walking to the other side of the river for better restaurants and more quaint areas for roaming the neighborhoods. The service was good. Overall for the affordability of this hotel, it was a decent […] choice. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Atlante Garden hotel"
It was all we expected and more - room was small but adequate, clean and well furnished, service was great, employees very helpful and timely and courteous - and the location was excellent with reasonably priced places to eat within walking distance.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Staff not very helpful. Price you quoted us included all taxes, and shuttle to the airport, but they charged us 40 Euro for airport transfer in their own van packed with other hotel guests, and added 12 euro taxes. The bed was too soft and sank to the floor when we lay down on it, causing my husband's back to go out, and caused him considerable pain. […] The room was like a dungeon, dark and gloomy. I would rate this a 2** , not a 4**** as advertised by you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Good location for Family visiting Vatican"
I found our room to be much different than the room in the pictures, it was a quad room which in the pic showed two standard beds and a king. our room had a standard bed, a hide-a-bed and a king, the room was much smaller that the one in the picture. The room was clean, and the Staff was very pleasant. I would rate this hotel at a 3 star and not the […] 4 star which it claims. The hotel shuttle was only a one way ride, the ride back to the airport was an additional $50 euros. When you check out you are charged a 3 euro per person per day for a 4 star, well, I believe it should be charded at the lower 3 star tax. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"What a great trip!!"
Our trip to Rome was nothing short of perfect! The hotel was also very good. Location and pick up from the airport was great. The room was perfect for the two of us. Our only complaints would be the noisey street, really soft mattress, and the surprise tax you must pay at the end of the stay. That's really not the hotels fault its the Italian governments, […] just wish I knew about it beforehand. So, Rome is awesome and the hotel helped make that possible. "Convenient to Vatican City"
The staff was very helpful and the housekeeper did a great job. The elevator was large enough for 4 people supposedly, but if you put 4 in there you were squashed! We changed rooms and the desk clerk was very helpful when we made the request. Our first room was very hot and noisy. If you are booking this hotel, do not accept a room on the main street […] side. After two nights, we had not gotten any sleep because of the temperature and the noise. They advertise that the rooms are sound-proofed but they are not at all. It was a great location and we would probably stay there again because of that fact. But I do believe that we would explore other options before rebooking at this particular hotel. It was very convenient to the metro and there are several very good restaurants in the area. Just a few blocks from Vatican City and close to Hop-On Hop-Off Bus pickup location. "Knowing what to expect..."
First off, this is NOT a 4 star hotel by any standards (US or European). It might have been several years ago but is showing a little age. That said, this hotel isn't bad and you can't argue with the price! Pros: - Friendly Staff - Clean - Great location, not in the middle of town but it's a 10-20 minute walk to most everything - Taxi station is right […] down the street for a quick way to get to the train station - Vatican is right there! - Great cheap breakfast in the morning with a great view - Great shuttle service and comparable rates for the return to the airport - Friendly and helpful staff - Free wifi in the lobby and pay for time in your room (pretty common in Europe) Cons: - Smoke: I have asthma and the first night I had to use my inhaler. If you are super sensitive to smoke you might have issues. - It's misrepresented as a 4 star hotel. It's a solid 3 though - The heating was not that great and the rooms are a little drafty The rooms are small by american standards but not bad. it's a great place to sleep and we were out most of the time. Regarding the smoke smells, the staff let us check out another room on a different floor and really did try to help the best they could. It's also just the fact that we are so spoiled with "smoke free" areas in the US so it takes some getting used to. If you are on a budget and want a clean, safe friendly hotel this is a great place. If you are looking for 4-star luxury that it's not and you'll need to pay accordingly. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice place, great value for the family"
This was our first trip to Rome. We picked the hotel due to positive ratings and its location on the map close to the Vatican, as well as its room offering. We were pleasantly surprised at just how close to the Vatican it is as well as being located close to the Metro and on a bus route to the Collesium. The hotel was about 1.5 miles from John Cabot […] University, an easy walk. The room we had held three beds, good for our familiy of four. No one had to suffer sleeping on a pull out sofa! The registration desk staff was not much help with local information; however, the bartender in the hotel more than made up for it. We visited with Andreas every night winding down our day and he gave us practical how-to-get-around advice, as well as sights worth seeing from the perspective of a local. The room and bathroom were clean and spacious. The room is meant for just sleeping, it is not set up for work or hanging out in, but since we were in town to see the sights it was perfect for us! Was steps away from everything! location is awesome. Staff is great all speak english well and are very helpful! Room was to be expected for europe, no complaints and all my stuff was always there! There is a bar right next to it nothing to do with the hotel with nightly live bands and great drinks, staff is a little unpleasant hate there job attitudes […] but great watering hole! so you can get wasted and walk back in like 30 seconds :) Coffee shop across the street easy access for moring rush. The hotel has no restraunt but a nice little bar with a wonderful staff.. but they do have morning buffet its typical european... eat outside anyway is better.. "Nice hotel, good location, fair price"
My husband and I stayed here Dec 4-11. I thought the location was good- 10 minute walk to Vatican, 10 min to Metra train to go to Colliseum, Spanish Steps, etc., 20-30 minute walk to Trastevere. The room was decent, clean and fairly quiet except in the morning there is traffic noise starting at 7 am, wish I had brought ear plugs, but not a serious problem. […] I think you would likely have traffic noise at most of the hotels though unless you stay at an inside room, but then no view. There is a "hair dryer" in the room, but I would recommend bringing your own as it looks like a vacuum cleaner and takes a long time to dry your hair. The staff was helpful with all the questions we had. We didn't have the hotel breakfast, there are some quite nice little "bar's" near-by serving caffe, cappuccino's and yummy little pastries with-in just a couple minutes walk. I would recommend this hotel, thought the location was good and price fair. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great Hotel in a great location!"
Great hotel in a wonderful location! a few minutes walk from Vatican city. The staff is extremely nice although not all of them are too fluid in English which can be a problem at times. The room is small but very cozy and comfortable. Everything you can ask for the price and then some. The hotel offers a breakfast service for an additional 10$ per […] person a night or something around that. Personally there are a few great local authentic Cafe's around the hotel (NOT in Piazza del Risorgimento which is expensive) which we liked better and had a coffee and a pastry for around 5 euros. The hotel also offers a shuttle back to the airport for 40 euros for 2 persons. Might be comfortable, but down the street (Via Crescenzio and Piazza Cavour) there is a bus shuttle stop for a company called "Bushuttle" which goes to Fiumicino for around 6 euros - careful - you should check that you will have tickets for it - if it's full the next takes a while to come - makes no additional stops on the way to airport. All and all a great experience and highly recommended. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good Hotel Close to the Vatican Museum"
Hotel is well located close to Saint Peter Square and Vatican Museum. It is a 5-10 minutes walk to both destinations. You can also walk from the hotel to the main touristic spots in Rome in about 30-45 minutes (Fontana di Trevi, Piaza Navona, Pantheon, Saint Angel Castle). The coliseum is a little far away but you can easily reach it by metro. A metro […] station is within 5-10 minutes walk from the hotel and there is a metro station at your destination right in front of the Coliseum. Front desk staff are ok in helping you whith what you need. However, there is a guy named Franchesco who really makes the difference. He is extremely friendly and helpful in providing directions and information on what to do, where to go, or how to move from one place to another while in Rome. If you need something or want some information, he is the guy you need to talk to. If you are traveling in a budget, there is a grocery store two blocks away from the Hotel where you can buy basically all you need for your breakfasts and snacks. The Hotel provides a van service that pick you up for free from the airport.
