"Not what we expected"
Difficult to find in downtown Houston. Difficult to find parking. Literally had to let my wife out to go inside to check in and find non-valet parking. $22.00 for valet parking otherwise you end up on the third floor of the garage with no good directions on how to use the elevator. Ended up walking down three ramps with our luggage to get to the hotel. […] Part of this was through a construction site area. Valet area was almost vacant while there were a large number of non-valet vehicles on the 3rd floor with ours. Of course as you noted breakfast included is another $24.95. We skipped that part. Internet usage is another $9.95 for the night and we skipped that as well. AC was extremely cold. Adjusted it down a degree and it got warm in the room very quickly. Would not go back and was very disappointed. For a big name it was relatively expensive. We will not go back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very convenient location"
This facility is in the heart of the Houston medical corridor and is extremely convenient to this area, Reliant Park, Rice Village and the surrounding area. Self-park was convenient and reasonably-priced, especially on weekends. I highly recommend this hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Close to the hospitals. Nice area"
The hotel has a very pleasant staff pleasant staff and access to business center.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great Service, moderate condition"
It pains me when hotels pay excellent attention to customer care but neglect things like plumbing. Toilet never flushed properly which resulted in a less than enjoyable stay. Lobby, restaurant, bell staff - all excellent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"excellent option for texas medical center"
great location for being in the hospital, I have tried several of the options over the years of attending MD Anderson and this is probably the most luxurious. Overall very good, friendly shuttle serviceGenuine Expedia guest review
"Bait and Switch"
You'd better have A LOT of money to stay at this hotel. Your parking is $/day valet or $ to self park, and another $ if you leave and come back. Internet is available free in the lobby, otherwise you'll pay $ /day for access from your room. There is no microwave, so you'll have to eat at Driscolls ($ for breakfast buffet, etc). They also have no discounts […] for medical patients, veterans or seniors. I stayed with my father on a trip to MD Anderson; this hotel was one of the worst and most expensive trips of my life. Never again Marriott, shame on you. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Close to the several sites"
We went specifically to see the museums the location of the hotel is in perfect walking distance. The staff was nice and very knowledgeable on locations and even some sites that we didn't have on our list. We will stay again when we come to Houston.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrific hotel close to Rice University and TMC"
Staff always asking to help! Connected directly to the Texas Medical Center so you wouldn't have to walk outside. Great valet. Walking distance to Rice University.Genuine Expedia guest review
I've stayed at 2 different Marriott hotels in Houston over the last month. Both were disappointing. There were 2 commonalities that come to mind: 1) Front desk staff demonstrated very poor listening skills...obviously a training issue 2) Hotel services are seriously curtailed over the weekend It would appear that Marriott (at least in Houston) has […] decided that only Monday - Friday Guests are important to them!!! The rooms are always clean and the in-room coffee is always bad...but that's true with virtually any large hotel chain! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Best hotel everGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Booked room for 4 w/ breakfast (highly recommend breakfast) for weekend to go to the Reliant center for kids Lego Fest. Parking OK, Valet.. a must, took the metro street train to Reliant, (Right in front of the Hotel) super easy and the kids LOVED it! Hotel was clean and staff was so very professional. Bed a little small for queen size, but comfortable. […] Again, food was great (BREAKFAST), and overall a great weekend, will book again, with more time to explore Houston. *** Note: like a dummy, I forgot my pillow in my room when we checked-out, didn't find out until I was unpacking at home... call them up, and received my pillow 3 days later through FEDEX... THAT"S SERVICE... I really appreciate the staff at this hotel, They are super!! AAA+++ Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
I loved the stay at this particular hotel. Their customer service is outstanding. The people there were extremely helpful and courteous. The only down fall was the size of the restroom. A bit too small for my taste. But we will stay there again next weekend.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Regular ole hotel"
Just a regular MarrriottGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was small. The bathroom was so little the open door blocked the tub and toilet . No free wifi in the room. This hotel gives Marriott a bad name.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There were used cotton swap on the bathroom floor and a dried up raisin. This hotel was expensive and if they claim it to be 4 star hotel, they'd better vaccum thoroughly than this. Parkin was a lot of hassle since it is connected to the hospital and there were not many places to eat nearby.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"the best. really."
The wow factor of service is stunning. You will not be disappointed. They "get it" from valet to waiter to front desk to security. Someone is really on top of this hotel. One of the nicest experiences in 50 years. A++!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Booked for 5 and the room was small and very overpriced. This is NOT A FOUR STAR hotel!!!!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Houston Marriott Texas Medical Center staff was amazing. We had superior service from every individual that we encountered at the hotel. Each employee seemed genuinely interested and pleased that we had chosen to stay at their hotel and wanted to ensure that we had the best stay possible. The hotel fitness facility was wonderful. The indoor pool […] had an atrium and sun deck attached which was perfect for relaxing in the Texas sunshine. The hotel breakfast buffet was great. Plenty of wonderful choices for even the pickiest eater. If I am ever in the Houston downtown area again, I will be certain to stay at this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
This trip was for buisness in the medical center so the location was ideal. The staff was friendly. The room was comfortable and clean. My only complaint is that the bathroom was rather small for the star quality of this hotel. The door only had about 4 inches of clearance from the toilet and the fixtures were just a little above average. For the price, […] I would have expected more luxury in the bathroom but it was sufficient for one person. I can't imagine a family of four having to share it! "Fine for travelers to medical center programs."
It just seemed tired - needing brightening. Several little things - toilet cheap and top cracked, hot water unreliable, difficult TV remote system, didn't honor their own "green" requests, dull colors, expensive in-room wifi, ... "Good Hotel Next to Rice University"
I was pleased with virtually every aspect of the hotel. I've given "Quality of Staff" a 4 rather than a 5 because they advised me to take a train downtown but didn't inform me that service was interrupted that weekend because of construction. It was disconcerting to be shooed off the train far short of my destination, in an unfamiliar city, because […] "this train isn't going any farther north today." As far as I'm concerned, the hotel staff should have been aware of that. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Rooms, bathrooms, hallways need updated. One sink in already small bathroom made it difficult for both of us to get ready in limited time frame. They did accommodate my one-hour early check-in time request, though. Both restaurants (dinner & breakfast) were excellent; service was great! Also, they provided their shuttle van to & from our event which […] was within the 2-mile radius. Otherwise, we would've had to pay for parking again upon our re-entry. "Surprised about the small things"
Room was very pleasing to the eye and very clean. Was surprised Ito find no free wifi in my room. They would provide connection for a nightly rate. More than I was willing to pay. Even most of the cheapest hotels have free in room wifi. The other small disappointment was no hair dryer. Hai dryers are so common in hotel room that I stopped packing mine. […] Did like the ginger shampoo and conditioner. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"not so happy"
Bathrooms are small and door to closet was off hinges, swimming pool was ice cold and dirty, you have to pay to park so if you leave from parking you have to pay again. Paying for breakfest and the internet when i have stayed in other Marriott where all are free.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Luke Bryan getaway"
The hotel was the perfectly located from the Reliant Stadium. The staff was excellent from the moment we pulled up, checked in, asked for a few items, and through check out. I was very pleased with how Hotels.com and the Marriot worked with me and allowed me to change the number of nights without any extra charges. It was greatly appreciated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms where very nice & quite on our side, other side complained of noise from the local hospital & ambulances all night long. Friendly staff. No dining options within walking distance, although they did have a shuttle to drop us off for dinner, they could not come pick us up for over an hour when we were done. "Great location lots to do nearby"
Love the hotel, however we ordered room service for an early breakfast and it never showed up. We were extremely disappointed. The front desk was apologetic and took off a valet charge to make up for it. Other than that great place to stay!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Other than the parking situation being extremely confusing and a bit of a hassle (wish we would've went ahead with the offered valet parking), it was a great stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Stayed for the stock show and rodeo. So easy and convenient. The staff is great.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Whacha gotta do to get something good to eat?"
The room was clean but out dated. The front desk staff where great! The restaurant and bar staff where not; I tried several times to order food and each time it took the staff more than 25 minutes to even come over and take our order; which they did with as much warm welcome as a partially defrosted chicken. Then waited 45 minutes for food so gave up […] and canceled my order; we walked over to the Hilton where the food and service was awesome and the prices not to much more. We also ate at the Starbucks and the noodle place around the corner (without these we would have starved!) I would not stay here again. The Spa was out of order and the indoor pool is inside an old looking green house structure. Yuck! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

The Hotel is in the Houston Medical District and close to Rice University and the Houston Metro Light Rail. "Horrible room next to exercise room"
First of all, never get a room next to exercise room because we wish we would have known. Starting at 7AM until about 10AM on a Sunday morning constant dropping of weights and everything else imaginable. Also about 10AM I hear a knock at the door and I opened the door and it was about 5 workers from the hotel and one asked me when I was checking out […] and if I knew check out time was at noon. Remind you it was only 10AM. VERY RUDE and inconsiderate!!! UNSATISFIED!!!! I have called the hotel Front desk and still have not heard back. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location for Houston's Museum District"
Rooms were super nice, clean and quiet. In-hotel dining was excellent. Shuttle service was convenient and provided at no cost, even to local restaurants within a certain radius. There is not a lot "happening" around this hotel because it is in the heart of the medical center, so if you are looking for night life you can walk to, this is not the hotel […] for you. Room was great, location to the Medical Center is ideal. We had 2 issues with the bathroom, 1) the water pressure in the shower was really low, and 2) there are no hooks on the bathroom door to hang towels.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Hotel if you have family in Houston Hospital"
The staff was very willing to work with us on our situation of not knowing how long we would be staying from day to day. We would have to let them know from day to day. "Great hotel for couples."
Wonderful and friendly staff, beautiful accommodations, good location with metro-rail stop right in front and the best breakfast I've had in a US hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Staff was very accommodating, good atmosphere. We had a problem with the television, it wasn't getting any power, gentleman was there in just a few minutes to fix it. Hotel it located near train station for easy access to many places. Asked for early check-in and had us checked in before noon! Would recommend this hotel highly.Genuine Expedia guest review
