Always a nice place to stay. The breakfast was not as good as the last time we stayed, however the rest of the stay was great. The staff was very nice and friendly and gave great recommendations! Will stay again!

Loved the location of this hotel. Went for the Christmas Market and it was right across the street. It took 4 times for me to figure out to get to the lobby from my room. They need clearer exit plans...I shudder to think of a fire. Several of the stairs went no where! The front desk clerk when I checked in (a young man) seemed insistent that I book […] a reservation at the hotel restaurant. Kept opening the elevator doors and I felt stalked! Well worth the money can't beat the location. Skip the $12 euro breakfast and eat at one of the bakery's instead. No wash cloths in the room fro some reason.....

Everything just great except for the shower. Shower head too low so you had to hold the shower wand. No shower curtain so water sprayed outside the tub area. But the completely modernized rooms are otherwise GREAT.

You can't beat the location, walk out the door onto what must be one of the most picturesque streets in Germany. Obviously it's an old building so the less than perfect condition is as expected. The Eisenhut is a 4 mansion complex, dating back to the 1500s. We checked in later than planned, 10pm, but were greeted and accommodated by friendly staff. They even provided a garaged area to park our motorcycle in. Nice hotel, right near the town square in the old town. Bathroom was quite outdated and bathtub only worked as a shower, but was clean and comfortable. This was great location in Rottenburg and the hotel was excellent. Both rooms we had were very nicely decorated, very clean, and quiet, with very comfortable bed and beautiful bathrooms. Essentially recommend hotel for its location. While the room was clean, I was disappointed in the run down furnishings. I wasn't expecting modern decor, I realize the theme is keeping with medieval Rothenburg. However, the furniture was very run down and the fan was old.

This is a 5 star "luxery" hotel... I was very pleased with the decor when we walked in to the lobby to check in. However, the front desk clerk was not very friendly and our room was the equivilant of a budget inn. We were in an annex building accross the street from the actual hotel. The building was dark, musty, and has not been updated, at all. The […] room was a very nice size, however, it had original furnishings from the 1960's and it smelled like urine. I would not reccomend this hotel. My opinion would probably be different if our room had been in the main building. This is one out of 7 hotels that we stayed at on this 12 day vacation... Our stay at Hotel Eisenhut was fabulous...the staff was very helpful, our room was very large and comfortable, as was the bath. We were only a short distance from the Market Square where the fantastic Christmas Market is held. Everyone should visit the market at least once in their lifetime and be sure to stay at the Hotel Eisenhut.

Eisenhut was built in the 1600's. Fantastic art throughout. Good, but expensive and touresty restaurant. Staff were officious but polite. Good deals on this very popular place are hard to find. We had to move because extra days were not available on Hotels.com. Make sure to book and extra day; you will love Rothenburg ODT.

The eisenhut is a lovely old hotel made from ( maybe) four old elegant homes. It has modern facilities, but is not witout its creaks and groans. Our room could use new mattresses, but comfort was ok. Lovely dining room. Location could not be better. This was our second stay, and we will go again if we return to Rothenburg.

Our room took our breath away. It was unexpected and wonderful. The bed with wrap around head and footboard was comfortable, spotless and roomy, the bath huge with a large tub splendid for soaking. We got lost in the staircases and antique 16th-18th century history posted in every corner. We walked past stained glass windows in the hall to view a suit […] of armour and beautiful wooden chests that were used as storage on the grand staircase landings and hallways. We peeked into tiny arched doors and delighted in the dramatic sunset over the famous town wall of Rothenburg ob der Tauber from our room balcony. We were in a standard room, I wonder what a fancy room would be like. We felt transported into another time, not as peasants, but as royalty. The front desk and other staff were attentive and pleasant. The restaurant served breakfast in a high ceiling room decorated as a grand hall in an ancient castle. We thought jousting events could be held there. The breakfast was buffet with a wide selection, waffles to sausages. We could not afford to eat in the restaurant for dinner, it was quite formal, but enjoyed the bar just outside the french doors to the dinning room. International publications, and guests were all pleasant and deligjtful. We would love to stay again. Only one issue: a large tour group director constantly at the front desk, made us wait for a lengthy time for assistance every time we went to the desk, including check in and out. Read more

Hotel Eisenhut is 100 yards from the central square in Rotheburg. If you do not find on street parking they will valet park. The staff are helpful and the room was comfortable. The hotel is decorated with many antiques and old paintings. Breakfast was extra but very good.

Very nice hotel in a picturesque building right off the main square. It has very nice restaurants 9one room used for breakfast, anothrt for lunch and a third restaurant for dinner. There is an option to eat on the patio for lunch. The food is excellent and typical of the area.

When planning our trip down the Romantic Road in Germany it was difficult to decide where we should stop and where we should stay. If you are planning the same trip and have the same questions the answer is stop in Rothenburg o.d.T. and stay at the hotel Eisenhut. The hotel is beautiful, the staff above and beyond friendly and professional, the room […] was big and clean with a great view (stayed on the third floor in the main building), the restaurant was tasty and the buffet breakfast (especially on Sunday- but also on weekdays) was one of the best we've had anywhere. The town of Rothenburg o.d.T. is magical. The gardens are a must see as well as the museum and the walk of the city walls. The Nightwatchman's tour was hilarious, would have gladly done it twice. The drive both to and from this town is purely picturesque. Went in early October and the fall colors were just coming in and made the town and surrounding area even more amazing. We didn't want to leave when we had to go and are already planning our return to this perfect little hotel in this blissful little town in this absolutely romantic little corner of Germany. If your destination is the Romantic Road, be sure to spend at least one or two nights at the Eisenhut in R.o.d.T! Read more

As with all buildings in Rothenburg, this hotel is very old. Rooms are small, but clean. No A/C but town is pretty quiet after dark. Location is perfect, next to main square in the middle of old Rothenburg.
