I had read the reviews on this hotel and all of them were good but because it was cheap was worried in case it was not up to standard. I was pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general. The hotel is about 5 mins drive from strip but there is a free shuttle from the hotel every 10mins that goes on to 12.30am most times we walked out and the shuttle was pulling up outside the hotel so never had a problem with transport. Staff friendly and helpful and the bed in our room was huge and very comfortable and clean. I would definately stay again if we were in Las Vegas

The Gold coast was nice and tried to upgrade us for our honeymoon but the suite was too big and had old decor. So we asked to be on another level and it was fine. The only thing that was bad was the hairdryer didn't work. The room was clean, comfortable, and we liked the variety of tv channels.

Rooms were both nothing more than a place to sleep, which i guess you can't ask for alot more than that. Overall cramped rooms which I would be generous to rate "no frills". There were other issues involved in regards to how my family and I were treated by hotel staff but I do not think the review would be posted. I would rate SOME of the staff as unfriendly and standoffish. Would not recommend at all.

We stayed off the strip for the first time and were surprised by the friendly staff, who upgraded us to a suite, without asking. The suite had just been shampooed and was very clean. The bowling alley was fun and overall a very good time. On the downside, it is an older hotel and there is a lot of smoke from the players, inevitable I suppose. We would stay there again.

It took two days to get a broken toilet fixed, you may perhaps have long distances on the floor to your room and you have to plan twenty minutes for walking to the strip. But all in all it was OK, because you usually will be in your room only for the nights and these were quite quiet and you probably will only once a day go to the strip and return back to the hotel so the distance is not too bad.

I didn't expect much seeing as The Gold Coast regularly features as the low cost Vegas option. But to be honest the place was not bad. The hotel suffers slightly from not having been upgraded I would guess since the early 90's. I'm pretty sure I was still smelling the essence of Marlboro Reds smoked by an individual all too ready to espouse the virtues of the grunge movement circa 1993. So, it's old and smells like Old Vegas. If you care about staying at a "new style" hotel and casino, or are a virulent non-smoker this will upset you. Otherwise, you'll hardly notice. The Sportsbook is really nice and spacious though. I spent a good deal of time here and thought the staff was awesome. If you care about this sort of thing you might like it here. The only drawback for me was the location. It's pretty far removed from everything IF YOU'RE WALKING (which I was). Other than that I'm sure the cabs are manageable and relatively inexpensive. All in all, the hotel was a great value and the staff at all points from checking in to gambling to getting a cab at 6 am on a Monday was really helpful. I'd definitely stay here again.

Excellent hotel for only a 3 star, the main reason we returned to this hotel is that it is only a short shuttle bus ride away from the hussle and bussle of the Las Vegas strip and when you return after a long day out sightseeing etc, you can enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere and more friendly service. The hotel seems to attract the locals and visitors and the staff are more friendly. The only bad point we have is now the shuttle bus goes to the Tropicanna Hotel and not to Bills Casino any more. P.S. - We will defiantly be staying there again

Great clean rooms with a power shower which was diffierent. Air conditioning very quiet compared to the Riviera. Excellent selection of eating places with reasonable portion sizes ie. not mega ridiculous. Bowling alley very good, as was swimming pool and hot tub. Useful shuttle to Strip.

The hotel is very good and although is is out of strip it provides a free shuttle every 30 minutes to the strip. It is a very good option!!!! Needs improvement: (i)the room door is very noise when you close it (we can hear during the night other guests closing their doors); (ii) the front desk does not answer the calls!!!; (iii) they could leave plastic cups close to the ice machine because some rooms are far from the machine; and (iv) they could improve the acoustics to reduce the noises inside the rooms.

This is our second stay at this hotel. The hotel is is just off the strip, but within easy access. There is a shuttle bus runs from the hotel to the strip, then do your exploring by foot. Dont forget to take your walking shoes and sun cream. The rooms in the hotel are kept clean every day without any fuss. If budget is a problem then stay with the standard room. We booked a standard room then upgraded to a superior room at check in, for an extra $10 per night inc tax. Only difference in rooms is the bathroom. You get a bath, with overhead shower in the standard room and a walk in shower in a superior room. If you want to gamble without the hussle and bussle of the strip, then stay here.

The Gold Coast is very embracing. From the moment we arrived we felt at home. Great place to stay, especially for the price. The casino is big and not to crowded so thats a plus. The bowling alley is huge and also fun. We were there during the week and so it was a bit slow, but we still had tons of fun. The only draw back was that the rooms are tiny, but some would call them very cozy. Also noticed that the slots pay better in the early morning, from like 2am to about 6am. My window looked out at the side of a parking garage, but I didn't expect a stunning view for the bargain price. Hotel personnel were gracious and efficient. The shuttle to the strip was nice. I never waited more than 10 min. for it to show up. Also the restaurants were quite good. The Ports of Call buffet is huge, and for late night/early morning eats, there is a TGI Friday's open 24 hrs. in the casino. Overall, I'd recommend the Gold Coast if you're looking for a reasonably priced Vegas hotel with easy access to the strip.
