Proximity to airport was very good and shuttle operates every half hour 24 hrs a day. Front desk staff were excellent. Rooms were very overpriced. We had to change our room as there was water leakage I presume from the bathroom and the carpet on one side of our room next to the bed was very wet. We had to change rooms which was done without question but not what you would expect this at the price we paid. Amenities in room were almost non existent no iron or tea and coffee making facility. Would not stay there again.

This Steigenberger Airport Hotel was rated 5 stars. Normally any hotels above 4 stars you would expect more in their rooms - slippers, or even bath robe, etc. BUT, this 5 stars hotel doesn't even have hand lotion !!! In the bathroom I only saw liquid soap. And there's not even one bottle of water in the room. Could it be possible they just neglected my room and in the other rooms of this 5-star hotel they provided these things? The single room is small, with one full-size bed (not queen as described) against the wall, and only one hand towel plus one bath towel (not thick or big). The computer or printer in both of the rooms of their business center did not work properly, even their IT couldn't print my boarding pass. I wasted an hour waiting in there and had to ask for refund.

I picked the hotel because of its location right at Frankfurt Airport and because it cost a great deal less than the Sheraton. The shuttle service was efficient and frequent. The rooms were quite large. I don't like duvets, but the bed was comfortable. The toilet articles were minimal but were available "on call." The Bavarian-style resaurant was excellant, moderate in price and had a non-air port charm.

The rooms were satisfactory and the bathroom was gorgeous! The people at the front desk were quite rude. If you have an early flight, and just need a bed, it is perfect. However, there is nothing nearby and we caught a shuttle back to the airport to find some dinner (restaurants there were way too expensive) and go shopping. We had a great time wandering around without the rush to catch a flight and there is a great little cafeteria style restaurant just inside one of the terminals. If you want a nice night at the airport, this is definitely the place to stay! Oh, and there is a rain shower in the bathroom!

Finally, the heat took 30 minutes to come on in the morning and the heater made noise all night, even though it wasn't doing anything. (I should have shut it off.) I valued the free shuttle service wich makes the trip between hotel and airport every 15 minuets. It's a large bus with nice big doors and luggage storage. It would have been nice for the driver to help out with my suitecases, but other passangers assisted. I thought that the price for the breakfast was excessive, so I chose to eat at the airport instead. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room.

This is the third time I've stayed here, spending the night to catch a 'plane early the next morning. Three times and they're out. (1) There are two Steigenberger Airport Hotels. The busses that take you to them are staffed by nice guys who have no idea which hotel you are going to. I had no idea there were two hotels with the same name. I found out as I went about 15 miles away to a very nice country hotel, not mine. 30 euros later I was at the correct hotel. No one would accept responsibility for the mix-up. No one would reimburse me for the taxi ride. Everyone agreed that it was "confusing" that there were two hotels with the same name, but I was told "you should know where you are going." I tried repeatedly with the Manager to express my frustration -- no one would have known. I was told by a waitress that this happens quite often. The manager was rude and frankly insulting, insinuating that I was stupid. (2) I was assigned a room but when I got to my floor it did not exist. I went back downstairs and the receptionists (who had witnessed my conversation with the Manager) were giggling. They hadn't told me I had to go to a different elevator bank. I asked why and was told "you didn't ask." They stood there and watched me go up the WRONG elevator. (3) I was starving but the lobby restaurant was packed and couldn't serve me right away. I went to the other hotel restaurant because it had a buffet line. BIG MISTAKE. The food was the worst I have ever had in my life. Worse than the worse institutional food I've seen. I ate what I could and consumed a lot of bread. The meats were disgusting, the vegetables were soft and watery, the fish tasted off and the cold salads were not cold. On top of this a bottle of water cost 8 euros. (4) I asked for 7.30 wakeup call. I awoke at 7.40. I called downstairs, thinking my watch was off. They insisted I did not ask for a wakeup call. Of course I did. I took a shower and at 8.00 the phone rang, my wake-up call. (5) Checking out
