The check-in process was needlessly slow -- it took about 15 minutes -- even though I was the only person checking in. The room was 85+ degrees and the air conditioning took nearly 24 hours to cool the room to 75 degrees. The first night was miserable in the heat.

We enjoyed our stay at the Red Lyon Hotel. The hotel is maintained very well. I especially liked the double sheets with one sheet under the blanket and one on top, as is done in luxury hotels. The breakfast was delicious, and the cafe in which it was served especially appealing. I would stay there again.

For 90 bucks a night you can't expect much. Room was clean. Little outdated but I'll take clean over newer appearance. Staff was nice and informative.

TV did not have all the channels that were on the hotel info guide. Room smelled like someone was smoking in it before. Staff was quite friendly. Long walk to some rooms if you do not have a car.

The room was very nice, well appointed and clean. The location was good for the event we attended but I wasn't sure if walking around after dark was safe. The only disappointment was that the pool wasn't open yet when the weather was in the mid-80s.

My husband and I spent two nights at the Red Lion in Medford to attend a wedding. We didn't spend much time in the room, and just needed a convenient, safe, clean hotel. We were given a room with 1 queen bed in the rear building, next to the river and I-5. We could hear the highway noise inside the room, and it was unpleasant. The front building is […] surrounded by an asphalt parking lot. There are no restaurants to walk to near the hotel; it's in an ugly commercial area of "downtown Medford." The bathroom was very clean, and the dated furnishings of the room appeared to be clean. However, after walking around on the carpet barefoot, our feet were brown with dirt. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. The room had a small refrigerator and microwave, which was nice. The continental breakfast was in the main building, not connected to the two buildings with the guest rooms. The breakfast was horrendous. How difficult is it to make decent coffee and put out muffins that aren't wet and slimy, and clean the tables with a cleaning product? This is likely the only time we will ever visit Medford, so I suppose the hotel served our purpose and was a fair value for the money. Read more

Very dissatisfied! I wish I would have paid the extra $10.00 for a name brand hotel rather than trusting the Hotels.com "3.8" rating -- very smelly room like there was a dead body or mold in the near past they tried to "clean up" without spending the money to truly professionally clean it. The staff at the hotel were not impolite, but they weren't actually helpful or useful either. The site itself made it appear as if breakfast was included in the room (something that I look for in a hotel) When I arrived I discoverd that it was an additional fee. The clerk who checked my in was friendly and helpful but the man who was there when I checked […] out seemed to treat me like a distraction. Our room was so hot the first night we could not sleep so we turned thermostat off & opened balconey door but the noise from the street was so loud it did not help. 2nd night they offered a different room but it was already 8:30 when we got the message and with 2 dogs we said it was too late. Fecal matter on toilet. Room had not been cleaned. What appears to have happened is that the room was checked out by someone else and then they deemed the room unfit. The room was then checked out to me. Resolved by hotel staff with efficiency and tact. Traffic is very loud as hotel is by the interstate.

Hotel room was musty, low grade hotel buffet was not included with the room (first time I've ever encountered that) and wireless was essentially non-functioning unless you get a bridge box from the desk. Unlikely I will every stay there again.

The room was decently clean. But lacked space and comfort. I would recommend spending the extra 20 bucks and staying at a Marriott or best western. The balcony was nice but only came with one chair and no table. Also the safe doesn't have a key so limits the closet space. Just not a good stay for me

My stay is always wonderful ... but this time I used their free Wi-Fi and my email on my Kindle was hacked in to. I tried to notify the hotel to their direct phone number - NO ANSWER! I notified the Red LIon 800 number and was basically told "oh well" but "sorry". Would I stay there again? Yes, of course, but I won't use the WiFi.

The hotel was beautifully decorated, friendly helpful staff and nice modern decor. There was a slight issue with expedia and us arriving shortly after making the online reservation. But the front edesk agent handled it well and with kindess. The bar was great and staff was very friendly. We live in the area and had a staycation here and loved it@
