"Just a quick stop"
We were heading back from picking up a new puppy and stayed for one night. It worked out perfect for us and our pup. Would recommend this hotel to our friends.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Fine for a night"
Room was spacious though would have been nice to have 2 chairs instead of one (which had a big ugly stain on it making it not so inviting to sit on). Room had a funky smell to it, not sure if it was he cleaning supplies they use or just a bad odor. Air conditioning system old and not so great, only cooled part of the room. That said, was a good comfortable […] night's sleep. Dinner at Larks was fabulous, great prices for such high quality food, menu had some interesting choices. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"We really enjoyed our visit!"
The staff ( helpful, friendly and welcoming), the great breakfast, and the decor really made this visit. Don't let the exterior or the surrounding area turn you away. We will definitely stay here again should we ever be back through.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Surprised and Delighted"
I booked our stay based on the excellent rating of previous guests. Now I understand why the ratings were so high. The Inn at the Commons used to be named the Red Lion Inn. It has been renovated by the owners of the Ashland Springs Hotel and the surprise is that the Executive Chef at the Lark is also managing the Lark restaurant in the Inn at the Commons. […] The food was superb! This Inn was a super value for the dollar. The Lark is spacious and conducive to good conversation at dinner time because of the food and quiet atmosphere. We will be booking a stay here on our next trip to Portland. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"At least we made it out...."
The second we saw the place we were disappointed. The photos are incredibly misleading and this place is not nearly as nice, or clean as they present it online. The location however, was convenient, as it was within walking distance from downtown. This was beneficial because the inclination to walk (or run) away from the Inn to grab a drink was overwhelming. […] In addition, much of the surrounding area felt dodgy. We sat on our patio and watched people walking on a trail, under the freeway, across the creek... because we confused it with a very long episode of Law and Order. The decor was random and dated in a such a manner that you just knew it was not on purpose. Despite the location, I would prefer to fork out the extra cash for cabs than set foot on this property again. If you are looking for somewhere nice to stay, pick a different hotel. Better yet, just find something in Jacksonville. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Better than it looks"
Like other reviewers have said: ignore the exterior! The hotel is reasonably priced, conveniently located and clean. The Lark restaurant is a gourmet surprise. We enjoyed a wonderful evening meal, followed by a walk in a nearby park. The morning breakfast (free!) was very good and served on real dinnerware. The coffee was good enough to save us a trip […] to the Starbucks across the street. I highly recommend this place. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Inn at the Commons a great place to stay"
Driving to Tacoma from the Bay Area, Medford was the perfect half way point and Inn at the Commons was the perfect place to stay. Huge added bonus was the restaurant The Lark, which had incredibly good food.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel Central location Friendly staff"
We were early on our arrival into town and the staff was very helpful in giving us a room so we could prepare for a wedding we were attending. The room was very clean and the air condition was on to keep the room cool on a very hot day. Didn't get a chance to try the pool but it looked inviting. I will stay there again next time I'm in Medford.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Nice comfortable bed!"
Loved the pillow top bed! Our room had a nice view of small riverGenuine Expedia guest review
I can't believe this hotel had a 4+ rating. Not even close. It was a dark & dingy place. The inside was clean enough but the stairwell and landings were gross with bird droppings everywhere. The shower was awful and the towels were so thin. Parking inadequate. The pre-paid price was more reasonable than the brand name hotels. However, after my visit, […] I would have gladly paid for a hotel twice the price. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
We had not been to Medford before. Chose this hotel as it was downtown and inexpensive. Driving up was very surprised. "Go to the Marriott"
First hotel I have ever walked out of. Rooms are dark and smelly. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful though. We turned down this room after a week in the desert. Surrounding area is a pit of pawn shops. Go 1 exit north on the 5 anywhere there instead. Whoever does this hotel's site deserves a raise , they sure fooled us. "Great location; Very comfortable"
Came down to Medford from Portland on business and as a travelling woman, alone, I look for modern conveniences, safety and clean accommodations. The Inn had it all. My room was well equipped with a microwave, fridge and large flat screen TV. A good desk for me to do some work-and was given the WIFI password when I checked in. I would highly recommend […] this place and will definitely stay again when my travels take me back to Medford. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay"
Very nice. The Lark is a superb restaurant. Worth coming back for it alone!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Do not recommend"
Carpet was dirty. Furniture was old and dated. Toilet was so low on the floor - It was designed for children. The Hotel restaurant was priced way too high for the quality of food.Genuine Expedia guest review
Very clean, and friendly staff. Free breakfast is nice, and hotel is in walking distance to downtown so there are bar/restaurant choices. Balcony's overlooking the creek (and highway) provide an outdoor space. Overall I really like this hotel as far as "inexpensive, no-frill" hotels go. Much better than overpaying to stay in Ashland for business.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"A great find"
The hotel was found by chance on the internet, as we usually stay in another motel in Medford. But it will be our Medford destination from now on. The rooms are very nice and sound proof if you are on the first floor. The staff was very helpful and the morning breakfast was excellent. The main restaurant had a fantastic selection of different entrees […] and we would the food more then excellent The only problem is the distance from some of the creekside rooms to the pool and the lobby. So ask for a room in the pool complex. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Location suppose to be close to HWI 5 and it is, but due to one way street it would be very difficult to reach there without GPS. Our room was on the 1st floor but the carpet was so dirty. Besides in the minutes we entered the room, we noticed pretty bad smell, almost like sewage smell.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"One night stay"
I'll admit... i saw online pics and loved it, arrived and saw the outside.... i started to think i made a mistake. The outside looks a little worn and a older hotel but on the inside its nicely furnishes, staff is great and very clean. Rooms were comfortable and clean and hotel is near places to walk to. I had a very satisfying stay. The complimentary breakfast was more than I would expect for being free and the bed was definitely comfy. The tv could be updated, but that's not a deal breaker. "Great one night stay!"
The staff were helpful and attentive. I miss placed my sunglasses and as it turns out left them in the room on our departure. The head of housekeeping was lovely about returning my phone call and will be putting them in the mail to me for a minimal fee. We loved the creek side location and breakfast was good with a full hot breakfast for guests.Genuine Expedia guest review
Comfortable clean room, excellent breakfast buffet, and convenient location. Pleasant staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall it was a pleasant stay. I did have ants in the bathroom. There was no spa which I need and enjoy. Having stayed at the Old Red Lion it does appear they are enhancing the property.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great Restaurant and Nice Rooms"
I was told by one of the staff that this used to be a Red Lion Inn which made sense once we saw the layout. I was also told this is now owned by the same folks who own the Ashland Springs Hotel so I suspect more upgrades are forthcoming. It is definitely an older "MOTEL STYLE" building. The rooms have been upgraded very nicely and feels a lot like a […] true "hotel". The room was very clean and smelled clean. The location is right by downtown (a starbucks is across the street and there was a Saturday Farmers Market too). The downside is that it is right below the I5 and you cannot get away from the noise of the freeway. The restaurant is what sets this apart from the others - the food is local, chef-inspired, and downright delicious. We opted for this restaurant thinking we would suffer through another poor hotel-restaurant menu but this may be the best restaurant in Medford. Good prices too. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Meh. Its not a Marriott."
I travel 40 nights/year. This is not a business class hotel. Its in the same class as a comfort inn. However, the rooms have balconies which was a nice option, especially in the summer. The rooms were basic and clean. Nothing fancy. Good for an inexpensive family stay. Larks restaurant is excellent and is way above the class of the rest of the hotel. […] (Its name is odd.) I would eat at the restaurant even though the hotel is not high on my "again" list. The hotel is right across from the gentrified "Commons" so its in an improving area. "Don't judge a book by it's cover."
We were prepared for the fact that this motel looked a little rough on the outside from the reviews we read. My wife was relieved when she saw a security vehicle cruising the parking lot. Have stayed at the Inn two previous times, never disappointed. This time my plane was very late, but the staff took great care of my guests. "Perfect one night stop"
We stayed here on our way to Portland. This was a totally lovely hotel with great rooms and a very nice staff. The breakfast buffet was stellar. The only real complaint I have is it was hard to find the sign when we checked in at night. Otherwise, great place to lay your head down for the night.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved everything about this place! Very wheelchair friendly! CLEAN! Spacious. Friendly staff. great breakfast! Will stay here again!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It wanted to be a nice place"
It was hard to overcome the initial impression as there was nowhere to park to register when we arrived. The canopy over the outer entrance was taped off and under repair as it appeared part of ceiling had fallen in. To get into the hotel you had to climb through all the caution tape but there was nothing directing you. No mention or apology was made […] by the desk clerk at all. The room was very comfortable, beds and pillows great. Loved having fridge and microwave. There is a restaurant onsite but the food was not our style and no places to eat close by. The provided breakfast was very good, although it was the first time in our two week trip we saw someone put out a tip jar. But make sure you have your hiking shoes on as they do not open any of the back doors so you have to walk up the hill around to the front of the hotel and through the caution tape to get in. "Be warned - looks better on web page..."
Overall we had a pleasant stay, but I just wanted to offer a warning that I wish I would have received prior to our arrival at the hotel - be ready for the external picture of the hotel NOT to match up with how good it looks on the website! They must have a master website builder and/or marketing manager cause they certainly know what pics to show on […] the website to entice you in, and what NOT to show that might scare you away. The lobby is very large and nice looking (as it shows on the website) and the rooms themselves are furnished very nicely (as they appear on the website) although they are a bit on the small side. But the outside of the hotel is very sad looking - they obviously haven't gotten around to sprucing up the outside appearance yet. And the street that the hotel is on feels very gritty and tough when you drive up...but be comforted...only one block over is Center St. which offers a way more normal sort of cool-ish downtown feel. So I just want to say try not to judge this book by it's cover...you may be very scared when you drive up, but once you go inside (either the lobby or your room) you will be pleasantly surprised. And a nice shout-out about the on-site Lark restaurant as well - they may be trying a bit too hard to get a Mad Men mid-century cool feel with their motif, but the service and food were very good!
